Overnight stop as we are traveling north. We have stayed here before and will stay again when we pass this way. The previous comments about traffic noise are true, but the location couldn't be better.. right off of I-95. Overnighter's are up front and the long term camper's toward the back, away from the road. Pull thru FHU campsite was very level on course gravel. Access roads and main roads are paved. Office staff is excellent. Camper is the old dog in the store. He's 15, so use care when you greet him. Purchased a dozen fresh eggs from the chicken coop for only $3. We camped at RVacation RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a lovely campground with an unfortunate location. The campsites are gravel and level with grass around them. There is a lovely small lake with geese swimming in it. The campground is well-kept, the staff are helpful and very nice. There is an old campground dog who hangs around the office. You can see the campground from I-95, and the access is very easy on and off the highway. However, you can also hear the highway noise all night. That is the unfortunate part. It is pretty noisy. We camped at RVacation RV Park in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $32.00
Overall Rating:

We chose this park because it was the closest park to Raleigh we could find that had space available (it was NC State Fair time and everything closer was booked). The park is easily accessible from I-95. The park management and staff were very helpful with information on the local area. The sites are spacious with grass between sites. Sites are gravel and all interior roads are paved. Each site had a picnic table. The laundry area was clean and per load rates were reasonable. The restrooms were very clean and showers had good room in the changing area of each stall. We stayed for a week and the rate is a prorated weekly rate for 6 days. Management and staff are very helpful with information on local area attractions. Wi-Fi is available, but we didn't use it. Cable TV was not available, but over-the-air channel selection was extensive. Many of the sites are shaded with mature oak trees and other hardwoods. There was road noise from I-95 and some railroad noise from the line south of the RV park, but not at late hours. We would stay here again. We camped at RVacation RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Close to town, yet out in country. Have several antique malls in Selma and outlets stores in Smithfield. Easy on and off to I-95. We will stay again if traveling up I-95. No cable was the only let down, but TV reception was still good. Wi-fi a little shaky.

Overnight on our way home. Easy on-off of I 95. Very friendly and helpful employees. Escorted to our wide and long pull-thru site (toad stayed attached!). Level site with paved interior roads and packed gravel site. Bathhouse was spotless. No cable TV, good antenna reception, also great for Sat TV (probably true for all sites). Did not notice highway road noise, but train does pass nearby evenings and night time hours. Might bother very light sleepers. Very, very limited goods in "store". Local take out Pizza place had great meatball subs!! Will stay again when traveling to son's new home in VA. We camped at RVacation RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Excellent over night stop. Catch/release pond for fishing. Most sites are ready for 50 amp service. Pull-thru sites among longest and widest we've found. WiFi was weak, as is usually the case with campgrounds!

This is a very easy to find park right next to the interstate. We stayed here about 4 years ago and had a site further away from the interstate. This time we were in a pull through in the front. There is some road noise but the trains throughout the night woke us several times. Sites are gravel but the picnic table is on a paved slab. This is a very good park for overnight or a day for rest and we will definitely stay here again. We camped at RVacation RV Park in a Motorhome.

We were here a year ago, and the recently paved interior roads are a great improvement. Sites are level with plenty of room. Large open grassy areas in park, matures trees, lovely landscaping, pond, pool, clubhouse close to completion, very friendly staff. Noise from interstate and trains doesn't really bother us. It's not as if trains run right next to the park as at some places we've been to. Would much rather stay here than at the nearby RV park with rough gravel roads, no grass, and few trees. It all depends on what factors are most important to you. We camped at RVacation RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stop here on out way to and from Florida. The lady at the check in never seems to have the time to greet you. She is always preoccupied with other tasks. The roads are gravel and dusty. The sites are nice long pull thru. There is road noise from I95 and a train. OK for a one night stop. We camped at RVacation RV Park in a Motorhome.

Wife and I stopped on return migration and because of the exceptional ratings we stopped here. The park is VERY close to 95N and very convenient in this regard, bath house was very clean but tiny, park was well kept and had a nice big pond, wifi was down when we stopped? This is the noisiest rv park I've ever stayed at, there are trains, planes and automobiles I won't come back! We camped at RVacation RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

This campground was utilized as a rest point as there were not many local attractions to visit. This campground is located off a major highway, therefore, street and train noise is heard throughout the park. Our campsite was level. DirecTV (free standing satellite) had no issue. Verizon phones were able to get a 4g signal. Wi-Fi signal was weak and not reliable. Many campers were long term, and these RV's appeared really rough, which presented a negative look on the park. Campground close to gas stations, food, freeway access and grocery store. Pull through sites are available. We camped at RVacation RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The price is with full hook-ups with 50 amp service and Good Sam discount. This is a good campground for a few nights or just an overnight stop. When checking in, and you are using your satellite dish, make sure you tell them at the desk, so they can give you a site for good reception. There are large trees between the sites. The interior roads are packed gravel with the sites being level sand and very wide with plenty of room between them. There is a large lake for fishing and no license required to fish in it. The showers and laundry are very clean. The campground has good water pressure, electric, and the WiFi is very fast. There is a pool on the campground, although some reviewers say there is none. The road noise from I-95 is noticeable but did not affect us. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at RVacation RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

The price reflects full hook-ups with 50 amps and Good Sam discount. We have been here several times and it is a great place for an overnight stop. Sites are level gravel and hook-ups are located together. Sites are very well spaced leaving plenty of room between sites. Good water pressure, electric, and the Wi-Fi is very fast. The road noise from I-95 is sort of noticeable but not a problem for us. We would stay here again. We camped at RVacation RV Park in a Motorhome.

Easy off and easy on from I-95. We stayed one night and had a pull through. 50 amp, water, and WiFi worked great. Site was dirt but fairly level. We had the A/C running and the windows closed and noticed a lot of noise from the interstate and from the train tracks about 1/2 mile south. Good stop for one night but wouldn't stay longer due to the noise. Office staff was great and helped folks find their parking spaces. We camped at RVacation RV Park in a Motorhome.

Extra wide and long sites. Well laid out and cared for. Escorted to site. Suggest reservations since park fills up early. Friendly staff and dog. Easy access from I-95. Close to highway but wasn't bothered by noise. Will definitely return. We camped at RVacation RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.
