Other reviews cover the park well. Sites are close - no facilities. Other campers were friendly. The nearby BBQ restaurant is very good. The military helicopter landing at dusk was very cool. - Smilgron
Aug 2016 - $30.00
Very shaded spot. Gravel site with dirt forest floor for a patio. Picnic table. Right next to a small airport, however, the few small private planes landing are not annoying-they do not land at night. 100 yards from the Pic&Pig barbecue which is highly rated in the state. Good WiFi. We stayed for 2 weeks. Will stay here again. Very close to Pinehurst if you are a golfer. - runamuka

As the owner told us, this place is NOT an RV Resort. It is, however, a perfectly acceptable place to stay that is quiet and close/convenient to Pinehurst. We came for the golf, not for lounging at the RV park. As others have described, this is a small (16 spaces) RV park located at a private airport. The spaces themselves are mostly back-in, with a couple of pull-throughs. Most of the spots are taken by long-term renters, but no problems there, other than they go to work early. Utilities worked, although we had low water pressure. I wouldn't count on getting satellite access - there are a LOT of trees. You might get lucky, but probably not. No cable, but we got a bunch of over-the-air channels from Raleigh and Greensboro. Awesome place for a dog - lots of room to roam and play! No facilities at all - no restrooms or showers - you need to be self-contained. The Pik-n-Pig BBQ restaurant across the street is excellent - and busy. The good news is they close at 8. After that, it is very quiet and dark (no night operations at the airport). Note that the restaurant is cash or local check only (ATM on site). The RV park is also cash or check - no credit cards. The owner is very friendly and helpful. We would stay here again if we go to play more golf at Pinehurst! - FireFlyer
Jan 2019 - $1.00
While at the Hershey PA show in September, vendor promotion. Three free days, in addition, 21 days plus $50 visa card. Very nice private campground. Must be member to camp here. No rates, 14 day limit, no sites for sale, no long term campers. Campground has many activities during the season. Grounds are beautiful and are highly maintained. The clubhouse (very interesting log home) was a residence for the owner of a peach farm. All pull-thru's (long enough for MH and toad) and back-in sites are spaced nicely with shrubbery between. Lake with sites overlooking, along with cabins. Lake is catch-n-release. One pool, with another in planning. Golf carts available for day use, or rentals available. There is no additional charges for the kayaks, canoes, badminton rackets, or other activities. Aberdeen is the closest town with the usual Walmart, drug stores and eateries. This is one of the nicest campgrounds I have stayed at. - Long Island Mac

Clean, attractive, well maintained, with friendly staff and nice ammeneties - fishing, swiming, horse shoes, minigulf, pet friendly with penned animal retreat. - Donulus

We accepted an offer to visit this property at the Atlanta RV Show. We took the tour for membership & enjoyed learning more about the programs offered. Our guide was professional & knowledgeable. All staff was very friendly and helpful. Our site L19 was very nice, wonderful landscaping, partial lake view, full hook ups, satellite no problem, all gravel with plenty of room for our Class A, 45 foot motorhome, tow parking across the street. Lovely landscape in this loop, however roads to this site are tight for a 45'. Must unhitch. No permanent park models or live-in trailers at this park. This campground is a bit isolated in the forest, certainly QUIET in the evenings. 16-17 miles to Aberdeen, shopping, restaurants, Walmart, Lowe's, etc. Plenty of activity for kids, walking paths, pool, camp sponsored activities. There is a general store on site too. We attended the pancake breakfast & it was done nicely! Thanks. The reason this is not a 'perfect' score is the roads & sites are all gravel creating lots of dust & dirt. We were told the owners are working on this for the future, maybe 2019? It would be very nice to have the main travel roads paved at a minimum. Another plus would be to smooth out and extend the turning radiuses. Progress is being made to upgrade the property, particularly ongoing construction to get full hook ups to more sites. Recommend unhitching a tow except for the small number of pull thru sites. Verify hook ups, not all sites are equal. Site L10 has a fabulous lake side view! - 2SimsNanRV

wish I could give this place "no stars"! I have been staying at this campground many time over many years. It use to be kept up to date, safe, friendly host/owner, and overall great place to be. There would be cookouts and special events for the children to do. The owner would welcome everyone and help you out in anyway. She would decorate for each holiday and made the place feel like a home away from home. We would never have to worry about leaving our travel trailer and going to see the local area for the day. New owners took over and this place in 2016 and it is a mess now! Trash everywhere (beer bottles esp), people come and go out of your camping area, none of the games for children are up to date or even working anymore. Basketball area has junk where children are suppose to be playing at. Broken beer bottles in bath house area and they look like they have not been clean in months! At night you can hear people down at the lake yelling, drinking, and pretty much partying till they pass out. None of the rules are followed and its just a free for all now. It's sad to see the way this place has turned out. A teenager is running the place and of course, its just all about the money and not campers. Don't waste your time going. - Pjharn
Jun 2016 - $25.00
This is an older park. Lots of longleaf pines for shade on hot days. Very quiet and relaxing. There is a lovely clear lake to kayak or swim in. A beach with picnic tables. Bathhouse is old, but sufficient if needed. The lady that runs it now is very attentive and keeps things very clean. She also monitors that only campers are in the park. - Traveling Mema
May 2016 - $25.00
We stayed here for 5 weeks in April-May 2016. Campsite is rustic, signs say it's a nature preserve, and it is very natural. It's an older park and showing its age. The park has the feel of a state park. The showers were clean, but definitely showing signs of age with peeling paint and some mildew on the shower curtains. Owner works very hard to keep things up, but seems to be a little overwhelmed with all the work. We enjoyed getting to know her, she is very protective of the park and its tenants.
It was formerly open to day use (the lake beach) and overnight camping, but it now has a one-week minimum. Mostly long-term campers, and most seemed to have a connection with Ft. Bragg army base in Fayetteville. One thing to be aware of: because of all the pine trees, I later spent many hours cleaning pine sap off my camper and tow vehicle. Take some cleaner with you and get it while it's fresh. - TechiePhil
Oct 2018 - $25.00
I came to this park despite the poor reviews. After an almost 3 week stay here I cannot understand why and who gave the poor ratings. The people were extremely friendly and ever so helpful at all times. The facility is older but very nice and welcoming and very reasonably priced. The hookups were very good, no problems at all, laundry was efficient, good fishing in the pond and an all around very good experience. I was working the hurricanes of which Micheal came right over us as a tropical storm and knocked out our power for only a few hours and management came and apprised us all of what was going on which I thought was excellent customer service. I would highly recommend this RV site. - Nigel G
Jul 2018 - $40.00
This could be a beautiful campsite tucked Secluded in the sandhills. We went mainly to camp out and fish. There was a beautiful Lake stocked with fish but we were advised at check-in that we could not keep the fish to eat which was why we went there in the first place. We noticed a very bad smell and it was coming from the sewage overflow onto the campground. Will not return to this camp ground nor recommend it. The road was not maintained and was very rough. Visited 6/18. - Annir
Apr 2017 - $60.00
This is s beautiful older country campground located in the Sandhills of NC. The facilities are appropriate for the age and well kept. The owner was very hospitable. We love the lake with the Kayaking, paddle boating, swimming, horse shoes, cookouts, fire pits, and fishing! Lots of things to do within a 20 minute drive. Definitely will be going more! - JoTaylor
