1 Park near Shawboro, North Carolina
Nov 2015 - $21.00
We used this lovely park as our base for exploring the area. It is about a half hour to Elizabeth City and about 45 minutes to Kitty Hawk. Hosts and owners are very friendly and have a lot of information about the area. A small book exchange is located in the room in front of the office. Campsites surround North River Lake which has fishing; paddleboats are available. Sites are gravel with grass patio areas. Picnic tables are on site, fire rings are available for free if you buy wood from the park. Every other site is a pull-in. It appeared that all big rigs were in a pull-in location thus giving a view of the lake from the front window. Washing of vehicles and rigs is allowed for a fee. - DiplomatTraveler

We stayed at this park for 2 nights. The lots are level and we backed up to the lake. There were only a few RVs while we were there, probably due to the fact that it rained and the wind blew non-stop the whole time. Not their fault.
The only complaint we have is that we would prefer more trash dumpsters as there is only the one as you leave the park. The Wi-Fi worked great and we had decent AT&T service. - akeller156

While the campground is remote, you're within 30 minutes of city centers. The sites around the lake are very well maintained. The people were very nice. We would stay here again, without question. I also used my Passport America for one night. - Rick Stevens
