2 Parks near Sherrills Ford, North Carolina
Apr 2016 - $70.00
Problem we had with this park was difficulty in getting a 35 ft. travel trailer into our site. Takes a lot of backing to get in and out. They help guide you, but was still tight. Park looks nice and would be great for boaters. WiFi is good. Utilities are far in rear of site so you will need extentions. Some sites are all concrete and some just have concrete for your rig's wheels and the rest gravel. We would find another place to stay on next trip in this area. - padre

To call this a resort is a stretch. Granted, it provide boat access to Lake Norman, it doesn't have much else. There is a tiki bar, but it wasn't open. There were no other services. The couple running the park(workcampers) were marvelous. Because of our size, we were limited to just a very few sites, maybe 5. Because the steep decline to get to sites, we were directed to back out of our site upon leaving (about 200-250 feet uphill). It was obvious why we couldn't go down to where most of the sites were located, because we would have scrapped the rear of the coach. We could see where MANY travel trailers and smaller coaches had scrapped previously. Sites were nicely sized, level, with tables, and all with some grass. There was a nice, moderate-to-high priced, restaurant across the street. Food was good, buy probably not worth the price. Would not return. - EdGuru

Campground is hilly. They escort you to you site. It is a real tight fit for a 45' mh. You will have to back out of your site up the hill. Our site is on top of the hill over looking the lake. Very friendly and helpful staff. They give you a nice information packet when you check in. If you can try and unhook your tow vehicle before you arrive or you will have to pull in front of the gate to un hook so you can get on level ground. We stopped here to attend a college football game at Davidson College. We would return if in the area. - revolution1
Apr 2016 - $40.00
We are in a 40' motorhome towing a vehicle. We stayed here for a few nights. The campground is 99% permanent residents (aka trailer park) with less than a dozen sites reserved for transients, off the main road in the middle of the campground. They're all back-ins, most are under trees. We had an FHU site near the lake. Some of the sites are terraced because everything slopes down to the boat ramp at the lake. But despite being terraced, our site wasn't level. Sites are gravel, roads are mostly paved. The hookups are way in the back but the sites are also long and wide so you have the room to maneuver your rig to reach the pedestal. Sites have a fire ring and a picnic table.
Wifi was nonexistent so we used our own. When you check in, you're charged $10 for an electronic key card to enter the park. You get it back in cash when you return the card at check out. That means that any guests who want to visit will have to go to the office and pay a fee just to see you. There's no off leash dog park, restrooms smelled moldy (I could smell it from the outside) and there wasn't a flat surface in the park.
The main reason we likely won't come back is because of the buzzing power lines that run right over the middle of the park. They're loud enough to be disturbing, and sound as if you have live electricity crackling above you all the time. Well you do but I don't want to constantly hear it. I don't understand how anyone can live under that. - Flippitti
Jul 2014 - $35.00
This is a clean well maintained campground with a pool, mintature golf, and a store. Nice size lots with some lots have a great view of the lake. Would recommend this campground to other campers. Very friendly staff and campers. - Jaretaz
Sep 2011 - $35.00
This is a large campground with great many 'permanent' seasonal residents. Campers are generally well cared for and grounds are neat and well kept up. There are not a large number of sites available for drive-ups. Currently there is a large workforce here to work on the local electric plant and there were very few sites available. Staff was friendly and helpful. - nancy42
