Spent a week. Roads getting to park very narrow with many turns. This is an old campground with a majority if permanent old travel trailers. A lot of "stuff" piled on sites. Most roads paved. Officer/Registration not clearly marked. Definately not big rig friendly. To exit with rv you have to take the inward side of the divided road so you coukd risk oncominv traffic. Limited number of transient sites. Very noisy and busy on weekend with locals. Lots of kids. Property adjoining park sounds like ot is a dog kennel. Very limited Verizon cell service. Clubhouse has decent wifi. However, it is about the only rv park in the area. Many others are really trashy. Large Class A coaches should avoid this place. Price too high for condition of park. We camped at Harbor Point RV Community (formerly Turkey Point RV Park) in a Motorhome.

This park is now called Harbor Point RV Community. It is right on the water, has spacious and clean sites. It was too windy and cold to kayak but looks like it would be fun. This is a gated community during the night hours. There are a lot of permanent and seasonal RVs here. Verizon in the campground was non-existent. We were told at the office that Verizon turned it's towers over to other providers a couple years ago. Deposits are non-refundable. If you have to cancel consider changing your dates. We stayed in the new section for a week. The park is secluded and quiet but only about 15 min drive to the ocean. Food Lion, McDonalds, Hardees about 5-10 min drive. The staff are very friendly and the park has a lot of potential. WiFi in the clubhouse is fast. I would recommend the owners put a picnic table at each site. Fire rings are on each site. All in all a pleasant week. The swimming pool was clean but small. When the new section is completed and full of campers they are going to need a larger or second pool. We camped at Harbor Point RV Community (formerly Turkey Point RV Park) in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for a month while visiting family and friends. This is a very nice park with excellent office personnel. There are a lot of monthly rentals in the park but all of the people were very friendly. There is a nice dock for fishing or just sitting and looking out at the waterway and watching the birds and boats. There is no boat ramp, but there is one very close to the park. We would definitely stay here again when in the area. We camped at Harbor Point RV Community (formerly Turkey Point RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

We were pleasantly surprised by this park. It is secluded and area attractions are somewhat of a drive away. Management was very friendly, we came in later than expected due to traffic. We were escorted to our site, host turned on and tested water and gave us a brief overview. This park seems to cater mostly to long term guests, and is in excellent condition. The long term guests were very friendly and we felt welcome right away. Construction is currently underway on the new bathhouse which will be nice for the short term guests. We were unable to get wifi in our area of the park, but it was free and fast at the clubhouse. Our US Cellular data stayed mostly on 1X and our Verizon data was only OK with 3G. We especially enjoyed the water views, cool breezes, the pier and the fishing. There isn't a boat ramp here but a wildlife ramp is very close to park and there is space to tie up at pier. If you are looking for a campground close to the beaches, this may not be the place for you. We passed several on our trip to the beach that were much closer to attractions. However if you are looking for a quiet, spacious park with a pool, friendly people, great views and a relaxing atmosphere, we definitely recommend this park. We are planning to return with our kayaks on our next trip to enjoy the water. We camped at Harbor Point RV Community (formerly Turkey Point RV Park) in a Motorhome.

New park, New management. We arrived later than planned and Manager didn't bother with paperwork then, got us parked and told us not to worry setting up, come eat as they were having a large campground cookout. Beautiful place. Will be going back. I know some have differing experiences due to the management change and it's for the best. Within 1 month the new manager has cleaned up the marsh, installed a playground, and was ready to break ground on the bath house. Not sure of status now in August. All new fire rings were dropped off day before my May visit. Talking with manager I learned many projects were in the works. Cable TV, Internet, more playground additions, more campsites. I recommended good Internet since most everything is streamed now including TV. The over the air reception was excellent on all channels and has most channels I've ever received (over 24). If you want peace and quiet, do a little fishing, reading, relaxing etc, look no further this is the place you want to be. Only time I fell asleep in my chair it was so nice. Its not that far from Topsail Beach if you want to go there but this place is nice and secluded. I hope they put in a place for dog water access. I have 2 chocolate labs and they were dying to get to the water. I plan to return in October and am anxious as to what all has been completed with the projects. We wanted to stay in this campground since it's near where we live. When we visited we wanted to book a site for the next weekend. We were told by the manager, who had just started working there, that the rate of $35 on the website was going to be $45 by the weekend because they were getting fresh gravel (the website has since been changed and it says $45 now). We found our site and wanted to get our reservation made and paid for. She would not take our reservation because there was a camping group coming in of about 8 and she "wanted to see what sites they wanted to have first" before we could get our site. She took our name and number and told us to call her later in the week. We ran into the same manager at the RV show that weekend and greeted her warmly. She did not bother to look up from her cell phone. So we decided she did not want our business. It's a really pretty campground, but we like to feel welcome when we travel and stay places. We were made to feel unwelcome. We camped at Harbor Point RV Community (formerly Turkey Point RV Park) in a Fifth Wheel.
