Date of Stay: October, 2014 - $11.00
Water is from a well and has a odd taste. Sites are narrow and was difficult to maneuver with our 36' - however saw 40' MH parked there. Had to trim trees to keep them from dragging on top of our 5vr. The road into the park is difficult to find the first time - and potholes makes entering and exiting difficult. Park has a storage parking area as you enter full of very old boats, trailers, and RVs. This is a PA park and you can't beat the price for the area. The over air channels work in the area. The mosquitoes were beyond awful - two drainage areas on both sides of the park must encourage their breeding areas. We didn't spend much time in the park so it met our needs. We will probably stay there again since we have family in the area. Rate based on monthly rate. We camped at Wishing Well Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
Date of Stay: September, 2014 - $22.00
This is an older park with 30 amp service. The roads need pot holes filled in. There are less than 15 sites for motor homes or trailers. The sites are level with water, sewer, electric. It is an OK overnight stop. We would stay here again if passing through. We camped at Wishing Well Family Campground in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: April, 2014 - $15.00
The rate reflects a PA discount for 5 of our 7 days stay. The campground is easy to get to but there is not a lot of room at the entrance, the front office was closed and it would be helpful if they put a sign out front to direct campers to continue to the house without having to stop first and read the small sign in the window. All sites are level, shaded and back-in only and they have plenty of room to put out the slides and awning. Each site has a picnic table which is placed on a small pad. There are only 30 amps sites and the voltage level is low and we had some issues with low voltage. The water pressure was a little low at times but not a problem. The sewer connections are located in the rear of the sites and we had to use 25' of sewer line. There is no WI-FI but our Verizon hotspot worked well on 4G. There is no cable but we were able to receive a few OTA channels. The park is very quiet and the host was very nice and helpful. We would stay here again. We camped at Wishing Well Family Campground in a Motorhome.
Rate reflects Passport rate. Just an average park, definitely not fancy. We just needed a quiet place to spend en route to the Outer Banks. Owners wife was in the hospital, so the office wasn't open when we arrived. The instructions were to choose a spot and we would settle up later. He came by the rig and was very pleasant. Spots are level and good electric. Would stay here again. We camped at Wishing Well Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
Date of Stay: March, 2011 - $20.00
Nice quiet park. 1/2 price ($10) for Passport America for 7 days. Sites well back from road. Very level. Some shaded, some open. Intermittent Verizon data signal. Good over the air TV. Good Verizon phone. We camped at Wishing Well Family Campground in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: October, 2010 - $12.00
Previous reviewer must be confused. This is a RV and boat storage yard with some tent sites and 16 back in decent sized and level sites. It's not junky but is far from the cleanest ever. The electrical and water is excellent, but bring plenty of sewer hose. Verizon air card worked well as did our T-mobile and AT&T phones. There is no laundry and the shower/bath was full of cobwebs, so we used our own shower. We did stay here for a week, enjoyed the peace and quiet, but felt previous review overstated what this park is. Despite what I just said I would stay here again. PA rate is just right for this park. We camped at Wishing Well Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
Date of Stay: September, 2010 - $10.00
This is the best kept secret in North Carolina; cleanest campground we have ever been to. Not for someone who wants all the bells and whistles. Large clean restrooms and laundry, no camp store but lots close by. Full hook ups are in among large mature trees, had to hunt to get satellite to work. Sites are very large and level, could park on either side of my camper. Passport America rate is shown. We camped at Wishing Well Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
