We have stayed her an many occasions ... generally our second night when heading south of two nights before getting home. The staff remains unbelievably friendly and helpful. The campground has clearly had many upgrades and a beautification. They've added a miniature golf course and are in the process of putting in a new pool complex. Despite having many long-term residents, the campground is immaculate. And, in the many times we've stayed there, we have never witnessed any undo noise of campers not observing quite hours. It will remain a major stop for us! We camped at Fayetteville RV Resort (formerly Fayetteville / Wade KOA) in a Motorhome.

It's obvious the owners are putting a lot of money into upgrading this campground/resort. We stayed in a huge pull through near the entrance. The miniature golf course is one of the nicest we've seen and they were finishing the new pool area. We only stayed one night but would definitely stay here again. We stayed here about 15 years ago when it was a KOA. It is remarkably improved from what we experienced then - kudos to the current owners. Only carps - 1) when my wife used the restroom the door to her bathroom became temporarily stuck shut, trapping her inside; she had to kick the door to get out, and 2) our site was a bit swampy when we checked in - was much better the next day. Office staff very personable, courteous and efficient. We camped at Fayetteville RV Resort (formerly Fayetteville / Wade KOA) in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Is easy to access from I-95 for an overnight, although it is a bit expensive to be used as such. Time your arrival for daylight hours - it can be tricky to locate your site at night owing to a campground map that does not show all site numbers.

Have stayed here when it was KOA and it was better in the past. About 75% long term now. Owners nowhere to be found. Unattended German Shepard left tied outside all night barking. Kids running everywhere.

Lots are very close. Sites are gravel and feature a picnic table.

The after-hours number published on the campground documents is now no longer in service and disconnected. Will not return. We camped at Fayetteville RV Resort (formerly Fayetteville / Wade KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a really well managed RV campground. Conveniently located close to I-95 for overnight stays but far enough away to avoid road noise. It is clean, the staff are friendly and there are a variety of services available on site. This is a good transit stop. Half lightly wooded, half open space campground. Pretty quiet with some noise from the interstate. Former KOA that appears to be having some upgrade work performed. Mix of asphalt and gravel access roads with mostly level gravel sites. Sites in the lightly wooded area were pleasant to sit around at, did not explore the open areas of the campground.

Big rigs use caution on the turn from the southbound off-ramp to avoid the curb on the inside of the turn.

Power ok, did not use other utilities, wifi ok in the afternoon, sluggish in the evening. Verizon LTE 3-4 bars with decent speed, TMobile LTE 1-2 bars but did not check speed.

We would certainly stay here for an overnight and perhaps longer. We camped at Fayetteville RV Resort (formerly Fayetteville / Wade KOA) in a Motorhome.

What a find we happened upon. We are in Fayetteville often and never knew this campground was anywhere around. What a fantastic place. Long pull thru, good water pressure and electric levels, and cable. The host said the WiFi did not work, but it did come in and out often. There is also two pools, a lot of things for the kids to do and everyone was just so friendly. The pull thru was huge, level and gravel. More than enough room since I didn't want to unhook. The hosts were extremely friendly and escorted us to the site and made sure we had no problems. We will definitely return since we have relatives in the area and visit there often. Thanks for a great time. Definitely on our return list. We camped at Fayetteville RV Resort (formerly Fayetteville / Wade KOA) in a Travel Trailer.

Date of Stay: August, 2016 - $48.00
Overall Rating:

Beautiful spacious campground with a good mix of on-site cabins, long-term residents, and short term residents.

Sites are large, pull-through with plenty of room for motorhome and tow vehicle. Sites are wide, with plenty of space between sites. Site surfaces are level, with crushed white gravel base and grass between the spaces. Premium sites have a concrete pad with picnic table and small fence. Pool appeared to be in good shape with a shaded and enclosed area where parents can watch kids without being bothered by bugs. The campground is very quiet and full of mature trees; most sites area shaded to some degree. Easy to reach just off I-95. Gas station on the other side of the exit ramp with big-rig sized diesel pumps too.

The only 2 downsides were: 1) The WiFi system, which didn't work at all. It took several tries for our devices to connect, but even after connecting they were not able to use the Internet. Unless this is fixed, assume the campground has no WiFi

2) The campground is quite a way away from anything to do, which is fine for relaxing but driving into Fayetteville for food or museums can get old.

For this remote location and lack of functional WiFi I thought the price was on the high end. However, if I were in the area I would stay here again. We camped at Fayetteville RV Resort (formerly Fayetteville / Wade KOA) in a Motorhome.

Nothing special about the park but nothing wrong with it either. Did notice that most campgrounds give you information about the area and suggestion about places of interest or places to eat. This campground had no handouts and nothing available about the area in the office. When asked about suggestions nothing really offered. Fayetteville is a nice little town. Enjoyed walking the downtown area. They have a very old theater there, the Cameo, which was interesting. Saw a 1st run movie there. Very nice.

We came back for a second visit June 2016 after a having a great time here in 2014. This time we stayed for a month. Short term, still a decent place with two pools and a decent workout room. But longer term, I wouldn't stay here again. There are stickers and burrs throughout the grass, so walking is a pain, literally, for me and my dogs. The back laundry facilities - washers don't work well, and one didn't work at all which I didn't find out until I had dumped $2 into it. They just had a big carnival day, which looked nice with rides, bouncy houses, rock climbing wall, and music. The day ended with a pretty large fireworks display, but it was overshadowed because I had to climb on the roof to sweep off smoking cardboard debris and blasting caps - not very well thought out on their part.

We had internet one day of the month, and a long term resident (6 years) said this has always been an issue, so don't depend on them for internet. We camped at Fayetteville RV Resort (formerly Fayetteville / Wade KOA) in a Fifth Wheel.

This is the third one-night stay that we have made at this RV park in the past several years--all as stop-overs as we have headed north from Florida in the spring. It is a very convenient park for an overnight stay--just a mile off of I-95, but far enough away to avoid highway noise. The sites are level and gravel. The hookups are good, but the sewer input was at the far back of our site and required two hoses to reach it (about 25 feet). The numerous shade trees make the RV park beautiful, but it can make it difficult to get satellite reception in some of the pull-thru sites. The WiFi was sporadic and there is no recycling at the park. As I am not a fan of KOA parks, in general, so I am pleased that this park is no longer affiliated with KOA. From my perspective, it appears as though the entire RV park has been upgraded since leaving the KOA chain. We would definitely stay here again if we were traveling through the area. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Escorted to our site. Wide well spaced sites. Beautiful well cared for grounds. Roads were plenty wide for our 45 ft unit. They have sites that are free of trees and sites that have nice tree cover. Main roads are paved with the interior roads and sites are gravel. If the roads had all been paved, we would have rated this a "10" rather than a "9". Did not use the WiFi, but it came up on our computer with a strong signal We will return. We used this campground as a one night stop on our way to DC. Very convienent to I95, easy off and on. Staff was very helpful as we did not have a reservation but they had plenty of space for us.
The campground looked very well maintained and our site was level and easy to get into.
