This is our fourth time at Camp Hatteras RV Resort but the previous three had been years ago when it had another name.  The amenities have been backed down some since then....no more free sailboat use but still an very well run park in a fantastic location stretching from ocean to sound.  There are tennis & basketball courts along with shuffle boards, a playscape and a mini-golf course.  Equipment is gratis to use.  The club house has a game room for teens and a really spacious lounge for adults with TV, comfy chairs, game tables and a kitchenette.  Granted it is on the ocean but I spent much time in the indoor pool that had a hot tub connected to it.  There is also a well cared for outside swimming pool.  The very helpful staff and small camp store add a lot.  Sites near the ocean command a premium price so we stayed near the clubhouse for good wifi and a $10/night camp fee because of our Coast to Coast affiliation.  The pad for our 26' trailer was  concrete and level in the open. Ocean side looks at a sand dune to cross to get to the Atlantic. Sound side has beautiful sunsets. We will be back. We camped at Camp Hatteras RV Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is our second time at Camp Hatteras. We stayed on the sound side and found our site to be sized well for a beach campground. Had plenty of room to put out our awnings and slides. Some of the loops however can be a bit tight to maneuver with a large rig, especially with vehicles parked sticking out into the street. The staff was very helpful in assisting. Amenities were plentiful and there was a full weekend of activities planned. Given the size of the campground and number of campers, wifi performance was hit or miss, however, our Verizon signal was very good so we used that. Water pressure was a bit low (25 - 30psi) and the cable signal was a bit weak, but power was not a problem. We would (and probably will) stay here again. We camped at Camp Hatteras RV Resort & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stated 7 nights. Park is split into two sections, Sound side and Oceanside. We were on the Oceanside in the middle section. I would NOT spend the extra money to have an OCEAN view on the Oceanside....you have the same view as everyone else - - the backside of the sand dunes. The Sound side has beautiful sunsets and sites hat on the water. Paved roads. Long, level concrete pads for your rig, and also picnic area. Sites are in FULL SUN. Easy maneuver, and big rig friendly. Friendly staff. Cable $3/night. Awesome pool with a great view of the sunsets. Large community lounge. Easy access to beach. VERY VERY windy when we were there and could not extend your awning.... We would stay again. We camped at Camp Hatteras RV Resort & Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

very well maintined and clean park. Very nice and helpful staff. Heavy rains resulted in lots of standing water., that lasted a couple of days, Park runs from the Ocean to the Sound crossing Rroute 12. Sites are very close together. But is a beach campground. Sound side has good sunsets. Ocean side has bike rack and parking for using the beach. Wooden walkway to cross the dunes to get to camgrounds beach. We camped at Camp Hatteras RV Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

within an hour are Alligater River Wildlife refuge, gators and bears are there. Ocracoke Island is a must see. Short ferry to get there. Wright Bros Memorial, not worth it. Take a bike to avoid traffic. National Parks preserve much of the island. Can drive on beach with permits from NPS. Good fishing

nice park, no tree park. Dog friendly. Wel maintained spots. The office staff very friendly and helpful. It rained heavily the night before we left, our site was under 8" of water. To be honest knowing that, it would not be a deal killer. we plan to come back. We camped at Camp Hatteras RV Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed here a week using our Premier Coast to Coast. No fees except $3.00 daily for cable. Paved roads, sites and patios. Campsites on the Ocean side and the Sound side. We stayed Oceanside, great site. Back-in but plenty of maneuvering room and long enough for our coach plus car. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets and easy walking distance to beach. Very friendly staff. This is an old park. We had a Sound Front corner site. Great view of the Sound. The Sound Front sites are all back ins with narrow concrete pads. But we pulled in, as we have a motorhome. The area around our door was some mix of sand and dead grass. Other sites had grass that was more alive. We camped at Camp Hatteras RV Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

As this was our destination for a trip from California, we enjoyed Hatteras in the offseason. We ferried to Ocracoke Island. The ferry gives you a good idea of the sand bars and shoals for which Hatteras is famous. The Orville and Wilbur Wright Memorial was really interesting. And if you are a surf fisherman, have never seen so many. However, given the infrastructure, I believe summer on the island would be unbearably crowded.

Large RV Park, on both sides of the main road. The largest part is on the Atlantic side of road and the rest is on the sound. We stayed in a beautiful site right on the sound. We stayed here with a group of 25 RV's on a tour. Sites are fairly close together and are in full sun with no trees. We had a back in site on the sound side with a gorgeous view. We were lucky enough to have a couple of beautiful sunsets. Caught a sunrise on the Atlantic side one morning. Loved watching the Kite Surfers on the Pamlico Sound. Large RV Park, on both sides of the main road. The largest part is on the beachside of road and the rest is on the sound. You cannot see the beach due to dunes but easy to access. We stayed in a beautiful site right on the sound. Ended up staying another night and were fortunate to have two lovely sunsets over the sound. Sites are fairly close together and are in full sun with no trees. Front desk very nice and helpful. It is expensive but will stay there again when in the area. Large park that has two sections, one on the ocean and one on the sound. Sites are mostly back-in, concrete, fairly level and not exactly built for the larger RV's. Our 42' 5th wheel and truck just barely fit in our site. Picnic table, patio, wi-fi, cable, two pools, dog park, easy beach access. Beach area is very clean. Location is in the lower part of the OBK which is less commercialized, less traffic and quieter. Great location for visiting all the sites in the OBK! We just bought our first travel trailer 2 weeks before our trip. We noticed this campground had great reviews and they lived up to expectations. We traveled with our sons (ages 8 and 10). Nice cool pool, wide clean beach, friendly staff, big loop to ride bikes, free mini golf course and playground. The boys were quite active with room at our site to kick the soccer ball around and join some older kids I am impromptu game on the beach! Definitely will come back! Easy drive to see Cape Hatteras lighthouse, Bodie Island lighthouse, Wright Brothers memorial at Kitty Hawk. We didn't make it to Ocracoke Island - long live for free car ferry, but you could... we discovered a neat maritime museum by the ferry instead.

We stayed on the "sound" side rather than ocean. You actually have a view of the water and gorgeous sunsets. The ocean side has dunes which are nice but you have to get over them to get to the beach and see the ocean. Nice pool. Bathrooms and showers very accessible. Sites are level and plenty of room to maneuver. We would stay here again. We camped at Camp Hatteras RV Resort & Campground in a Travel Trailer.

All the spaces are concrete slab, there are a few pull throughs. We had no problems getting in or out, plenty of room for our 38 footer class A. I think they have places where even a 45 foot will easily get in and out, think they try to give you sites that are best fit for your rig. Rest rooms and facilities are very well maintained. There is a playground area set up for smaller children, because its location is near to the road, it is fenced, I would recommend an adult be present for young children. They do have lots of sports equipped areas for older kids and adults, refer to the webpage or brochures. We were not far from oceanside and was just one row of campers between us and it. There are a few sheltered areas also several bathrooms with showers that are cleaned a couple times a day. No issue with anything at this campground other than mother nature could have been kinder, lots of winds and fairly rough surf etc, lots of folks had their surfboards out and most people were staying in there chairs and blankets on the nice sandy beaches, a few ventured into the water for fun, it wasn't all that bad. I will probably go there again if we venture out to Hatteras. I would have felt better about it if the price per day had been just a little cheaper. 99 a day, (with a veterans discount?), could nearly have paid for a condo out there. 80 would have been more acceptable. Only bad thing about the site overall was the little round burs that will stick to your feet and are pretty painful, please wear some kind of flipfliops or sandals while in the grassy areas of the spaces.

Try to get a space close to the office if you want good wifi or else it'll be like 25% of the time near the middle or oceanfront. Don't expect the data rate to be good enough to watch videos. They have a section on the sound side of the highway 12. If you want more peaceful waters to play in we were there. We camped at Camp Hatteras RV Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.

We loved the location of this park, and our visit in May was perfect. Lovely weather and just before peak season, so not too crowded and not too expensive. We loved walking and fishing on the beach, and loved the bike riding trails along the roadways. Our site was spacious, with plenty of grass around and room to spread out. Interior roads were very wide and easy to navigate, and everything was well marked. The pools and hot tub complex was lovely and well-maintained. We liked everything about this place and would definitely go back! We camped at Camp Hatteras RV Resort & Campground in a Motorhome.
