Overall Rating:

We love this area and generally come up every year around the end of July or the first of August. This is the first time staying at the Pride in about five years. We stayed over an extended weekend with a group of four other campers. We were all on the front row. While the rain could not be helped, several sites, including ours, were very muddy. From what I could tell this only effected a few sites. The majority of the sites appear to be mostly level and have a gravel surface. Staff was friendly and helpful. The daily breakfast was a nice touch that might bring us back a little sooner. We camped at Pride RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

Overall Rating:

We were here the week of the 4th and there were fun activities as expected. However, there are fun things to do, if you want to, all the time. The laundry was more affordable than some and next to the clubhouse so you didn't have to sit on a folding chair if you wanted to stay close. The WiFi worked great. The water pressure was not very good, however. But this was a minor issue. The staff and work campers were great. The cable TV was nice although this time of year there's not much to watch on any channel at night. We camped at Pride RV Resort in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: June, 2018 - $47.00
Overall Rating:

We stayed here a few days last week. I like this place. There's several reasons. The first is they are reasonable in their rules. Just enough to keep it a nice atmosphere and not so many that it gets to be aggravating (some of the campgrounds in the valley are way past rule crazy and they charge for every thing). This campground is nice and quiet, but still family and pet friendly. The people are friendly. The river is gorgeous. It's kinda off the beaten path. Near here is a couple of gas stations and a Dollar General. Maggie Valley is a short drive, as is Junaluska and Waynesville. My wife says this will be our Maggie Valley campground when we come up this way. We were in a sort of tight site. With our slide out and the awning it was literally a matter of inches. I positioned us so that the slide out just missed the power connection and was able to open the awning almost completely (due to a tree). That's not a complaint. It was a big, beautiful tree that kept us cool during the day. I love being in the trees, in the mountains, in the summer. In the future I'll ask for a site that's not so close to the front of the campground. We did have traffic coming by our camper a lot. Not really a complaint but, I just know in the future to try to get more towards the back of the campground. We did eat breakfast in the little café in the campground. It was good, pretty cheap and a real plus if you're just wanting to do nothing for a couple of days. I think what I observed was that there are a number of people who stay here for extended periods of time (seasonal). It's a great campground for that. Maybe one of these days I can have that lifestyle. Anyway, all things considered, Pride RV Resort turned out to be a good experience. I loved the location. I only wish we would have had a few more days. Bring your grill. There are no fire pits here. We camped at Pride RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

We only stayed here one night but would be happy to return. It's well maintained with a store, a nice little diner that had a great $4 breakfast, pool and mini golf. There's a creek that would be great for tubing or fishing. Easy access to I40. We camped at Pride RV Resort in a Travel Trailer.

This was our first time staying at this park. We used to stay next door but they no longer accept PA. I wish we had checked this one out 12 years ago. This is a very nice park that was easy to navigate late night after hours. We had a back-in site, but they have a majority of pull-thru sites available. Water, power and sewer were all well maintained and accessible. We were impressed with the cleanliness of this park and the friendliness of the staff. They were helpful from the first phone call.

The bathrooms / showers were very nice with a real shower door and a great dressing area. There was a spacious laundry room with nice machines and a very comfortable lounge, adjacent to the laundry in the same building. This will be our new stopover whenever we are traveling in the area. The campground is only a mile or so from the interstate 40, with no turns once you exit the highway. We camped at Pride RV Resort in a Motorhome.

The standard sites were not very accommodating to big rigs. What was supposed to be a pull through (after 2 tries) we decided to back in. We had to maneuver a tight move between trees and cars parked in the road because the site was not long enough for them. Every time a new rig pulled in everyone stopped to see how they were going to manage getting in their site. Other than that it was a very nice park and plenty activities to do. We would stay again. This is a large park that was originally an KOA campground. Then new owners run a very clean operation. The roads and sites are gravel and/or grass. It borders the highway and there is a little noise at night. There is a lovely park area by a creek. The staff has a lot of activities for the campers. There is a pool, camp store, playground for kids and large activity room. The sites are a little tight but we didn't feel cramped. We camped here for a week. Very nice park with a lot of activities, especially for kids. Easy check-in with very friendly folks at the office. The only issue was the amount of space between neighbors. It was close.
