8 RV Parks near Weldon, North Carolina
May 2010 - $18.00
This "campground" is a dirt (spots of grass) parking lot behind a motel. It appears to be very old and poorly maintained. Hookups very rusty, but usable. We did not see any sewer hookup. There was a dump...not in good shape. Restroom was available with a key...very old and basic, but seemed clean. The lot looks like it would be a mess in wet weather, but it was dry when we were there, and it is very convenient for a pull through night, just off the highway. We will not likely use it again. - joyces
Dec 2009 - $29.00
Sites were level. We were able to use our satellite. Site long enough for 40ft+towing. Sewer connections nicely placed (not in back and not raised). Wi-fi strong and fast and free. Local pizza delivery available (not RV park pizza). Interior roads very wide. Roads paved with no ruts; more than enough for big rigs. Staff was friendly. Very nice and clean. There were no permanent residents. Propane was available. We will stay here every time we are near. - petersoldan
Oct 2007 - $18.00
This campground is a reasonably priced, easy off, easy on, Interstate stop over. I would not recommend this as a destination RV Park. Cable TV is an extra $4/night, but the TV service is was excellent as was the free WiFi. The voltage was low (105-V) in the morning when all the overnighters were using power. I had to turn my refrigerator and water heater on gas. Security in an unknown quantity as this campground is not in the best of neighborhoods. However, there are lots of bright lights. I would stay here again. - dlr
Apr 2017 - $40.00
This was an overnight stay. A couple of years ago we had a one week stay. This RV resort has the usual amenities that good resorts have. The staff is very friendly and efficient. Check in was rapid. All sites are pull through, some blacktop some gravel. Sites have a patio with picnic table. All sites have full hook up and can accommodate all size RV's from our Class B to our former 45 foot MH. There are a pool and hot tub. The pool was not ready yet, but should be shortly. They have a game area for the kids and mini golf for those so inclined. The showers and rest rooms were all in one area. They perhaps could use some updating although they were very usable. There are a few cabins. The only complaint (very minor) is that many of the long stay users (many sites occupied by these people) are workers that leave early in the morning. There were many fifth wheels and just a few MH's during this stay. Reservations are a definite plus as there were no vacancies during our stay mid-week. - Medico
Apr 2017 - $38.00
Convenient stop off I95 with good facilities and decent wifi. Price was reasonable. This isn't really a place with anything around it or a lot to do for a multiday stay...but as a travel stop it provides good value. Limited cable channels...no ESPN or other sports networks but good assortment of other stations Will stop again. - Camaraderie
Mar 2017 - $38.00
We stayed here on way to Florida and then back on the return. It's a convenient stop along 95. All sites allow you to park, hook, and depart very fast. The lounge outside the bathroom is nice. - klinner
Jun 2016 - $3.00
There's a lot to love about this campground. Lots of waterview spots even factoring in the permanent sites. The place is impeccably clean and the staff was universally friendly and helpful. The manager clearly loves her campground and her campers and wants to make sure she does everything she and her staff can to make each person's stay memorable. The "Trading Post" is a store that has most of the essentials (both RV and convenience store items) as well as a grill where you can get breakfast, lunch, etc. The grill part wasn't open on the Thursday when I arrived, but it was open the rest of my weekend. Prices at the Trading Post are extremely reasonable and you don't feel like you're being price-gouged for convenience. The only two not completely positive items stopping me from a "10" out of "10" were the unpaved roads through the campground and the lack of working WiFi for most of my visit. But those two things pale next to all the other amenities at the place like the pool, multiple beaches, availability (not through the campground but through third party people) to rent pontoon boats, kayaks, etc. The other very impressive thing were the sheer number of staff people here taking care of everything very quickly and efficiently. I had an electrical problem (which turned out to be of my own making) and someone was here literally in five minutes. Anyway, this is my new fave and they'll be seeing a lot of me. :) - RVAJeff
Sep 2015 - $3.00
The roads in this park are gravel, therefore very dusty. When checking in, the office personnel were not very helpful so we had to just wind around to find out where to go. It is on a beautiful lake that is very peaceful during the week. There are many seasonal campers that come on weekends that keep it busy. We had a great site until a group of people checked in that consisted of several families with many kids and dogs. One dog was put in a kennel outside that must have not been used to being outside and it growled and barked all night. We decided it was too noisy for us so left early. Had it not been for that, we probably would have enjoyed our stay. - dldw1954
Jun 2015 - $1.00
-Check in process- Ok. The main entrance is just off the road and it's a building with a radio to call down to the Trading Post to get inside. Next, you follow a map and some non specific signs down to the actual check in building.
-After hours check in- No
-RV spots- Spots are packed in and the roads are tight. It is hit or miss on levelness, but overall it was fairly good. The water HU is not with the electric, so an extra hose will be needed to reach.
-Hookups- Very few FHU sites, for the most part, you only have electric and water. There is a Honey Wagon Service with both free and pay days so make sure you plan ahead.
-Wi-Fi- It was not available during our visit.
-Bathhouse/Laundry- Descent facilities. They were clean and a good size. Laundry room had a good amount of machines that all worked.
-Amenities- Lots to do on site including a huge lake for boating and swimming; there is a pool, mini golf, horseshoes, volleyball, hiking trails, and shuffle board as well. There is a member's lodge with a tv, games, and library with lots of books for all ages.
-Kids- Definitely a family campground. There were families and kids everywhere.
-Pets- Pets are welcome; no dog park.
-Local area- Park is not close to tourist area or even larger populated areas. Raleigh and Durham are both more than 50 miles away. The site is situated in between Rt85 and Rt95, if you don't mind driving, those roads will take you to more locations.
-Staff- Staff we encountered were all very nice.
-Overall rating and comments- Park definitely had a party atmosphere. If you are looking for somewhere to relax and have a quiet peaceful time, this is not the campground for you. However, if you are looking for constant activity, lots to do, dance parties, and making sure your kids (and you for that matter) are tuckered out at night, this is the place for you. Overall, this was a great place. You could easily stay here for a few weeks and not get bored. - D20Nomads
Apr 2017 - $21.00
Apparently NC SP's recently changed their fee structure so that they charge more on weekends and holidays and less on weekdays. That makes this park a great deal on weekdays, at only $21/night including tax and day fee. The weekend/holiday rate is $25. This is for Electrical hookup. It is a very small park, with only 12 Electric sites and a total of just 34 sites. Shared water is available, as is a decent dump station on the way out. Sites are gravel and most are fairly level, although a few will require some effort to get level, especially if you have a long wheel base. Most sites get a fair amount of sun during the day, with some parts of the day more shady, depending on orientation. OTA TV good. Verizon signal good. - aowcarol
Mar 2017 - $25.00
Very nice, well kept. Only noise was the wind. 4 campers in park. Water is NOT on each site. Outside ring sites are nicer. Would suggest staying on far side of loop from group camps due to noise if occupied. Low or no cell signal. Nice trails and stream. Stars are awesome. - Grady1
Aug 2015 - $25.00
Very clean and nice park. If you want to get away from it all it is great ... No cell phone and big sky. Was a bit mislead thinking my site had water. Water is available throughout the park, so fill tank before set up or coming into park. Great park! - welkertp
Apr 2017 - $31.00
This was a good overnight stay for us. Bath house was good but nothing special. They don't have cable so we try to set up our dish but could not get it to find the satellite. The staff was helpful. Park was pretty full on Easter weekend. Looked like everyone was having fun. - mcm
Jul 2016 - $44.00
Very nice. Great experience, very pleased with our site and service. - min7854
May 2016 - $37.00
This campground is suitable for overnight while traveling to another destination. Gravel/grass parking spots. Gravel roads with lots of puddles. They have the worst internet service I have ever encountered anywhere, plus limited online time. It was so slow I gave up trying to access email. - R V Camper
Apr 2016 - $10.00
A little tight pulling in with fences on both sides of the motorhome. Check in was very comfortable, nice concrete level pads. We only stayed over night but would stay again. - TheBounders
Nov 2015 - $1.00
Price reflects ROD membership. Campground was easy to find. (We followed directions on C2C website.) They have a "fun center" on site with bowling, exercise room and other activities. It is odd that the hot tub is in a different building than the indoor pool. There is a restaurant at the campground, but it is only open on a very limited basis. When checking into the campground, they direct campers through a very narrow drive with a fence on both sides. It was very challenging to maneuver through this area. While we were there, another camper ran into the fence causing damage to their camper and the fence. The fenced area is a very poor design; they need to find a different solution to put campers while waiting for registration. Because of the trees and the very narrow roads through the campground, the sites are hard to get into. Sites are close together, but there are enough trees that it makes it have a little separation. Campsites have a concrete pad to park the RV. The concrete pad helps the sites to be level. Each site had a wooden patio with a picnic table. There is also a charcoal grill at each site. Well maintained roads through the campground. Laundry Room is so small that the doors of the dryers don't fully open-they are stopped by the washers.
We had to use our booster to get Verizon coverage. Not a prayer of getting DirecTV satellite in these trees. - GLPColorado
Jul 2015 - $10.00
Stayed overnight on a Coast to Coast reservation. Check in was quick and escort to site was provided. Back-in site was level, but dirt/clay which stuck to everybody's feet, including the dog. Interior roads could use some work, but sufficient for overnighting. We will probably stop here again. - Alworth
Oct 2016 - $39.00
Warning this park is very close to a very busy railroad track. It was extremely loud and blew their horn multiple times each time they passed the park. They start by 6am and stopped about 11:30pm. Pass this park by unless you are a very heavy sleeper.
Park personnel were great, the park was clean, and was well maintained for an old park. WiFi has very low limits. First 300mb at 500 kbps and at 700mb cut to 50 kbps. Don't let your computer run an update or you will get to experience dial up speed internet. - largefamil10
Oct 2016 - $34.00
Shaded spots, cabins on some sites, friendly staff, pool was closed but looked nice. Easy access. Will stop again. - Ruby H
Aug 2016 - $41.00
I stayed at site #10 across from the office. 50 amp pull-thru, convenient to the pool and not far from the other public facilities. Site was level, WiFi excellent. Staff friendly & efficient. Overnight stay for me, cannot evaluate facilities as I am self-contained, but all seemed very pleasant. I do not tow, but site matched my needs. - John_SC
