Easy check in and woman at the desk very pleasant. Alternating direction of RV pull through resulting in shared hookups of every two RVs and closeness of RVs. Long rows of sites with little grass and short trees so no ambiance at all.Quiet at night. We camped at North Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

55+ community with a large RV section. The sites and roads are gravel, but easy to navigate. The sites are very long with decent space between adjacent sites. The price and easy access to the major freeway are the highpoints. See our full review at www.thegilliamsisland.com We camped at North Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a combination mobile home park, long term rv park, and short term rv park. Comments apply to the short term area. Dirt access roads, dirt sites with a minimal scattering of gravel. Sites somewhat level. Very long pullthrus are alternating direction so patio area is shared. Very close together - a small grassy area barely wide enough for a picnic table running parallel to the sites with a narrow concrete walkway on each side is all that separates two sites. Two adjacent rigs could not both put out their awnings. Some of the narrowest sites we've seen outside of Florida. Except for the walkway and grass area, it gets extremely muddy after a rain so it is nearly impossible to keep mud out of the rig. A large amount of gravel would be a huge improvement on appearance and livability not only by dealing with the mud, but by adding usable outdoor space in front and back of the rig. Power ok, water ok, sewer ok. Campground wifi good signal with adequate to sluggish speed. Verizon 3 bars, did not check speed. Tmobile signal varied from non existent to 1 bar, did not check speed. No recycle on site. Road bike riding in the neighborhood. This would have been a 7 except for the mud problem. We will probably not stay here again unless they address their mud issues. We camped at North Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed here while visiting Theodore Roosevelt NP and the Medora Musical. Campground is neat and clean, long level sites and good utilities. This is basically a stop-over campground that is very convenient. We would stay here again. We camped at North Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here while touring Theodore Roosevelt National Park. The park is very nice with gravel roads and rv pads. If rainy, it does get muddy. The site for overnighters are super long....we didn't even have to unhook. It's very quiet. Staff was great and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. Rate is Good Sam inc. tax. Agree with other reviews. This is an overgrown oil business, mostly deserted park. Exceptional Wifi. Best of any park we have ever stayed. Came for quick overnight and stayed two nights because of all the things to do in the area. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Approach and interior roads are not the greatest (a few small potholes) but plenty of manauver space for even the largest rigs. Spaces are level gravel, pull through opposite direction with shared utility, small grassy area between units, very quiet. Would highly recommend for overnight or longer. When the oil business recovers this park will be crowded. Great local and chain business close by just off I90. Large clean bathrooms, decent laundry. Again extra kudos to the staff and wifi. We camped at North Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Staff is friendly and escorts everyone to their assigned site. Problem is they are shared utility sites (one pulls in one direction and someone pulls in the opposite direction so your driver sides are close together) and the staff must never camp because rather than spreading campers out and perhaps start by pulling everyone in from one direction first then start to fill in the other sites from the other direction, they park everyone in with one another. The sites are extremely long (guessing 100' or so) which allows each camper to pull forward in their assigned site and would provide what would feel like more room between campers. Problem is most people stop in the middle by the shared utilities and then the camper on the driver's side is only feet away and on your passenger side there is a camper 10' away (guessing that if we were to put out our awning and the people next to us did as well they would be close to touching. An ok place to stay while visiting Theodore Roosevelt NP and unfortunately probably the best campground for that purpose. Too bad like others have mentioned they have not repurposed the long term RV sites that are sitting empty into short term RV sites. Campground has potential but time will tell if they take advantage of the potential or just leave it as it is. We camped at North Park Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Theodore Roosevelt NP, both south and north units are worth seeing. Even though the North Unit is quite a drive (about 160 miles round trip) the scenery is more interesting. Medora is a cute town as well if you have some time to walk around.

Stayed two nights to visit Theodore Roosevelt National Park. I get the feeling the folks who designed this park had camped themselves and aspects made it evident they were playing to the campers' favor. Received a few dollars off the nightly rate by paying in cash. Gentleman in office was very nice and escorted us to the site even though he was the only one there. Park was pretty easy to find off the interstate; the road in the entrance to the housing development had some potholes so go slow. Off the main road a bit so felt safe. RV sites are situated at an angle so it's easier in/out. RV site was pull thru and very long - over 100 feet I believe. Hookups were in a normal location, about the middle of the site. They do the alternating rigs thing, so you share the hookup space with your driver-side neighbor, and the "patio space" with your passenger-side neighbor. Sites are pretty close together; typical commercial campground. But, not all the overnighters got parked together; he spaced people out a bit since park was not full, which was nice. Roads and sites are mostly sand/dirt with some rocks/gravel. Unfortunately it had rained the day we arrived so it was very muddy and we tracked quite a bit of sand in. Thankfully, there is an elevated, textured concrete edger on the patio side of the site so you can walk on that to stay off the mud. Sporadic-to-full grass is growing in the patio space between sites and in other areas around the park. Weeds/grass growing up (not tall) in many of the sites so the dirt/gravel isn't messed with much, it seems. Nice wooden picnic table. Wifi worked for surfing websites, email. Multiple bars AT&T LTE. Could hear interstate road noise in the evenings when outside. It's pretty open, the trees are still fairly short, so be aware that voices can carry across many rows. Fine site for the value. We camped at North Park Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Do not eat at the Pizza Ranch. Some of the worst pizza I have ever had. The Medora Musical is fun, but don't waste your money on the pitch fork fondue, food is terrible.

This is a huge RV park with the bulk of the sites sitting empty, many in poor and deteriorating condition. It's clear that it underwent a rapid and massive expansion during the oil and gas boom, and is now underutilized. Most here are full-time or long-term. Many trailers have been extensively winterized. There is little grass and few trees except in the older part of the park. The "gravel" is half fine rock dust, which would doubtless be a mess in the rain.

The management is extremely friendly and helpful. They even brought a printout of a park in Fargo to my site, together with the names and phone numbers of local service locations! They returned my missed call promptly although I had not left a message. That's a first for me. If you need a place to stay the night, it's a good choice. I would not consider this park for a vacation or weekend excursion, unless I had business in Dickerson. We camped at North Park Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a no frills campground; that is no pool, no cable, or walking trails etc. The park is neat and clean. The roads and sites are gravel and level. The Wi-Fi works quite well. The manager was friendly and escorted us to our site. The electricity, water, and sewer hooks are fine. We felt safe and would be happy to stay at the park again. Don't miss Roosevelt NP about 30 miles away at Meador. We camped at North Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Standard RV Park/Mobile Home Park on edge of town. Good for one night stay when traveling through on way to Alaska. Full hookups, internet, TV spotty on antenna. Great service from office. Gravel roads made it a little dusty. Most sites in sun. Would stay again if driving through. We camped at North Park Campground in a Travel Trailer.
