The only thing I did not care for was the mile long dirt road leading to the park. You really have to drive slowly because parts of it are like a washboard and unfortunately the county will not maintain it. The park was convenient to getting off and on the interstate. Owners were great and friendly. We did not care for the site set up since you faced your neighbor door to door. Our neighbor took over our picnic table and was just outside our door but again this was just an overnight. We camped at Jamestown Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
Tips for other Campers:
They have a place in Jamestown with a very large buffalo statue that you can see from the highway and some white buffalos that we missed in our overnight stay.
This is a perfect campground. The owners are great - one of the owners guided us to our site on her bicycle. The showers are very clean with a great exhaust fan that kept the humidity down. The sites are very spacious with large trees that provide plenty of shade. I was worried that the highway would be too noisy but it was not a problem. The only drawback was the gravel road to the camp ground. We camped at Jamestown Campground in a Travel Trailer.
Price included a Good Sam discount. During check-in, the owner was professional, but not overly friendly. He mentioned several places where pets could not go, but did not point out where the bathrooms were or what the codes for the locks were, also, no mention of where the dumpster was. The bathrooms and dumpster were easy to find, but both my wife and I had to go to the office to ask for the codes as they are different. The bathrooms are clean and well maintained. The sites and roads are gravel with plenty of shade and about 20' of grass between them. We had no problem navigating the roads or getting into our site which was long enough for our 36' motorhome plus tow. Our site required about 12" of our front rams plus my 3" wood block to level our rig. The campground has cable, however when I checked in, the owner said that it didn't work yesterday but he he thought he had it fixed. It worked for about 2 hours and then became too fuzzy to watch. I didn't try the Wi-Fi as most campground Wi-Fi is just too slow, so I don't know if it worked or not. As I stated above, there is a specified area for pets, there is also a path around the park that can be used for walking your pet, or just walking. We overnighted here while heading east on I-94, and would overnight here again. We camped at Jamestown Campground in a Motorhome.
Very nice park right off the interstate. Very welcoming couple checked us in then guided us to our site and told us all about the walking path around the park and the evening sunsets. Minimal traffic noise. Level sites. Not sure why people thought the mile long road coming in was so bad. It was just a gravel road that needed to be driven slowly. We'd stay here again. We camped at Jamestown Campground in a Motorhome.
I agree with a previous reviewer: The 1 mile public road to this campground is washboard rough but if you can get by that you will be very happy with this campground. You are guided to your site by one of the owners via bicycle. The owners are great people. The grounds are immaculate and most sites are shaded by mature trees that are trimmed up. The sites are grass and, while no mats are allowed, the grass clippings are vacuumed up thus no mess carried into your rig. The RV sites are all pull-through, which makes it very convenient for departure with a toad. On the perimeter of the campground runs two 5-6 foot wide mowed grass walking trails, 1 for just people and the other for people and their dogs. The grass is vacuumed up on the dog trail and it is clean, no poo bombs to walk around. The location is a short drive into town for food, attractions, golf, places of worship. While the campground is close to I-94 the road noise isn't an issue. It is quiet at night. We would stay here again. We camped at Jamestown Campground in a Motorhome.
Tips for other Campers:
Go slow on road to campground. The owner said the town may be looking at paving the road.
We stayed here over night on the road. Plenty of space between sites, hookups were ok, cable connection was stripped but I was able to keep the connection well enough. Large area for Dog walking. Road leading into park was a challenge as it was raining and the road was muddy, in a Motorhome that caused wheel slippage. Owners were nice enough. Utilities were well placed and site was level. Over all nice place that we would come back to some time later to visit the Buffalo museum. We camped at Jamestown Campground in a Motorhome.
Short distance from I-94; down rough, gravel frontage road - go slow. Level, gravel sites with grass and trees in between. Some road noise from nearby freeway. Nice, clean park. Large grassy area to walk our dogs. We would stay here again. We camped at Jamestown Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Arrived here during a downpour and was met by a cheery sunny welcome from our hostess! Everything was ready for us to make the registration easy (we had only reserved the previous day and glad we did, as the campground is pretty full). She then brought us to our site on her bicycle! All sites are pull-through, which made our stay easy for an overnighter. We used our 'MS Streets and Trips" and "Magellen" GPS and had no problems with directions, though we had been given them over the phone when we made our reservation just in case. We camped at Jamestown Campground in a Motorhome.

This campground is clean with grass between the sites. Sites are gravel and mostly level. Owners were friendly and helpful. Was led to our site by a man on a bicycle. This campground is near the interstate, but noise was not a problem. The only thing that distracted from the experience was the mile long washboard gravel road from the exit ramp to the campground. Got there on a hot day and noticed the voltage was 109 volts, probably because everybody was running their air conditioners. Later in the evening voltage came back up. Would stay here again for an overnight. We camped at Jamestown Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here last year this time. It's great for us as we only need a one night stay close to the main travel route. This year we have an R-pod 20ft travel trailer with one pop out. They are very friendly and always have a cart ready to lead you to your spot and help you get parked. We used full hookups and everything worked well. Grounds are in great condition and the spots are level. Outside the trailer I could hear some light traffic noise, but inside I couldn't. Very nice mature tree provide cover and picnic tables are throughout. I didn't use the public restrooms but my husband did. He said they are very nice and clean and they have a pin code to get in. We camped at Jamestown Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Sites are long and level. We had full hookups with 50 amp service. All services worked well. Call for directions. You must travel about 1 mile on a rough gravel road. The roads are wide enough to navigate with a big rig. Trees offer shade but are trimmed adequately not to interfere with maneuvering or positioning the RV. We would stay here again. We camped at Jamestown Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Large grass sites, full hook-ups, well maintained. Located on the edge of Jamestown, this park is adequate, with a nice walking path around the perimeter for exercise or walking your dog. Our site was large, the office staff were friendly, the park is off the highway enough so traffic noise isn't an issue at night. Our only complaint is we love campfires and fires were not allowed on the RV sites, which was hard to understand due to the size of the sites and fires being allowed in the tenting areas. We camped at Jamestown Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This campground is conveniently located off I-94. A gravel frontage road is the last mile of access. They do accept the Good Sam card for a 10% discount. Sites are level and well-maintained. Managers were pleasant and helpful. There is a nice pet walk/walking path that borders the campground. The store/office was sufficiently equipped. This was a former KOA, but has been maintained nicely with some areas upgraded (showers). We have stayed here previously and would stop again. We camped at Jamestown Campground in a Motorhome.
Date of Stay: August, 2013 - $31.00
Well, this is an older KOA that has been taken over by someone else. The grounds definitely lack TLC. The pull thru we were given was sufficient, but we could not pull out the next morning, we had to back out to avoid trees on the front of the site and rigs parked in front of us. As mentioned in earlier posts, the frontage road will beat you up if you don't do less and 10 mph for almost a mile. Be prepared. There are a lot of long term residents here. The laundry and restrooms were clean enough. We used the laundry (4 washers and 4 dryers). Lots of road noise. We camped at Jamestown Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
