Rate does not include the $7.00 per person park admission fee. It is another $8.00 per person to tour the Custer House and the Indian Village. Avoid the pull through sites that are designed for two RV's. All the services are on one post, so someone will have to have a long hose and power cord. Sites were dirt (mud), but level. Shower house had 3 stalls, and it would get crowded if the campground is full. No WIFI, but good OTA TV. Nice wooded location near the river. We camped at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park in a Motorhome.

As others have stated this is a nice state park at the intersection of the Hart and Missouri rivers. We stayed here for one night on our way east and had a pull-in site with water and electric. There are a number of paths though out the park. ND state parks require a daily fee or annual pass which in not included in the above fee. This is a nice park and I would stay here again. We camped at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is a very quiet and clean park with plenty of shade and room between sites located at the confluence of the Missouri & Heart rivers. There is a great deal of history to be visited right at the park. Power (30 & 50 amp) and water are available, but no sewer. Be aware that if you stay for one night, y0u will be charged a $7.00 day use fee for two days. So the $25.00 per night now becomes $39.00 if you stay one night. Stay 2 nights, charged for 3 days. I complained about that but the gate people are only following rules. I sent an email to ND Parks and Recreation about the situation, but no response yet. There is also a one-time $8.00 fee if you book online. We camped at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park in a Motorhome.

Lots of big rig friendly sites. No satelite on ours though. Water and 50 amp power a little stretch to reach. Spaces are nice size. Some of the pull through might be a little tricky curving around a tree. Overall very nice park. Was a little bit muddy and puddles after the rain. Enjoyed our time in Bismarck (mandam). Fee included camping plus car permit. We camped at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park in a Motorhome.

Go visit the North Dakota Heritage museum on the capital grounds. We really enjoyed and learned a lot. And it's free. Not sure young kids will like. We were surprised that we spent 4 hours there before we knew it.

Found this lovely state park located along the Missouri River. Lots of trees, grass and open spaces. Sites are spacious and neighbors are in sight but not even close. Our 5th wheel is 41' and our site was super big! Could have fit another trailer in. Had 50 amp electric and water at site. Sewer dump station in campground. Plenty of bike and walking trails. The reconstructed buildings of Fort Abraham Lincoln 7th Calvery is well worth the visit including the home of Lt. Col Custer and his wife. Would most definitely stay again! We camped at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

No Wi-Fi, marginal Verizon wireless network, no cable, with 17 OTA channels. Burn ban in effect, but green grass everywhere??? 7 miles from Manadan. Park like setting, with spacious campsites. Water and electric hook ups a long way from the RV, bring extra hose and electric cable. No sewer but a dump site on the premises. We camped at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Very comfortable location/park. the site was just about level And it was very spacious. In hooking up it's apparent that you very much need a long long hose or a long long electric line. The connections are spaced throughout but often lock a long distance from your actual RV plug in. What is so nice about this park is its location. The views are magnificent both at the campground site and up on the hill where the block houses are. The visitor center is most informative and the commissary location has good coffee and at every location the staff is the most friendly and helpful. We did not take the tours offered but did walk a variety of trails as well as biking in the area. If you are in good shape you can bike into Mandan or there is a trolley that comes into the park from Mandan and as a tourist attraction. There is Wi-Fi on site at the visitor center and at the commissary both of which are open 9 to 5. Because we had additional computer things that we needed to do we went in to the Mandan library which is conveniently located on main street. When we looked for a place to eat away from the campsite there was only a couple of places open in town on Sunday. We ended up at the local diner which was sufficient. The town is 7 miles away from the campground and that is where you will locate a supermarket as well. I understand there's a Walmart in the area but we ended up being in Bismarck and did our additional shopping there. We did not attempt to get over air TV connectivity so we do not know if it's available. The dumpsite it is conveniently located and easy to pull in and out of. Most of the sites are pull through and almost all have electricity There is a nice walk along the river within the campground. The park is kept very clean as well as the restrooms and showers. We camped at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed 4 nights, and thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful State park! It is clean, and the staff is very friendly. We had 30 amp, and it worked well. The bathrooms and showers were clean. The Missouri River flows beside the campground. There are hiking and biking trails. Some sites require having a long hose to connect to the water spigots. There are no sewer connections, but they have a dump station. Many people fish along the banks of the Missouri River. Mandan is a few miles north. Custer's home and the Fort buildings have been restored. There are also 5 Mandan earth lodges at the former On A Slant Mandan Village that you can tour on the park grounds. The Museum on the grounds is well worth a visit to learn about the fort, the Mandan people who used to live on these grounds, and the CCC's who restored the buildings. The park is a quiet place to sleep at night. The park is conveniently located to Mandan and Bismarck. If in the area, we would definitely return to Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park to camp in our 5th wheel. We camped at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

There are fast food restaurants in Mandan, as well as a Walmart for shopping. There are more choices for restaurants in Bismarck, which is not far away. The North Dakota Heritage Museum in Bismarck is excellent and FREE to the public! We wish we had made more time to visit it, we didn't get to see all of it before it's closing time

A large, long loop CG with lots of side of asphalt road pull throughs interspersed with back ins of dirt dirt. Lots of the pull throughs serviced two campers. Lots of large trees. Large central grassed area between the loops. Clean bath house with hot showers. Path through woods by Missouri River. The A.L. state park is the site of an indian war US Army post with one officer's house and an enlisted men's barracks to see, a really great CCC built museum, and five recreated round Mandan indian lodges at the slant indian village. Really well done. The museum and indian village is the real attraction. We camped at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park in a Motorhome.

May 15th. We had site 14 which is actually 14 and 15. One would pull-thru and the other would have to back in as the electrical and water is in the middle. Since the park was fairly empty we had the site all to ourselves with enough space for the tow. In summer it is packed with locals. This is a lovely park about 10 miles off Hwy94. Opening day is officially in a weeks time, so it was peaceful and enjoyable. Local people came to walk and river fish. Walleye is good right now, but we got a free catfish from a friendly local. The Hart and the Missouri river confluence is right next to us and it is 50 yds to walk to the river. The nightly rate is 25.00. Plus 5 for the MH. Plus 5 if you use your toad to drive in and out of the park. We paid 35.00 total. Water and electric only. Dump station on the way out. There is a additional charge of 6.00/pp to visit the Custer House. I also think there is a charge for the Slant On Indian Village. It all adds up. No discount unless senior ND pass (20 or 25 so worth it if staying 4 days or more in a ND SP) and military. I was told that ND, SD and Minnesota State Parks are going to a reservations only system. What does that mean for drop ins? If 35/night is no problem, then this is definitely an excellent place to stay - especially when you have the park all to yourself! We camped at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park in a Motorhome.

Dan's Supermarket is a local grocery store about 6 miles away. Check at the Visitors Center in the Park to see what there is to do and see ad the costs. Fishing lic. is 27.00 for 3 days for out of staters. Night crawlers and lic. can be bought at the gas store in town or a nearby Walmart.

Great place to stay. Always clean bathrooms and showers. Some sites can be a little small for the giant rigs. If you know how to handle your rig, should not be a problem. We spent three days here and loved it, plenty of things to see, check out the historic fort recreation and guard posts on the top of the hill. The location is scenic, right next to the confluence of two rivers. The sites are spacious and the facilities well tended and adequate for the volume of campers, at least in September. This is a lovely, quiet park at the confluence of the Heart and Missouri rivers, a few miles out of Mandan and near Bismark. The sites along the river are long, covered with fresh gravel, with trees trimmed for large RVs. A variety of walkways and paths wind through the park, which also features historic buildings. Cyclers will enjoy the bike paths. Birders will see a variety of special birds. We stayed two nights and found a variety of activities to do in the area. Clean nice state park along the Missouri and with lots of history. Sites are interesting - a few are single pull throughs but most are either back-in or pull through depending on who gets to the site 1st, as they are shared semi circles. Then you face the issue did the other party park in the middle of the site so that the 2nd party can't get in. Also, we had a 50 amp plug, but was only wired for 30 amp! Price is steep for a state park as they charge $30/night + $6 per person entry fee hence $42 for 2 persons + reservation fee if applicable AND needed for weekends. NO view of water except for a few primitive sites. We camped at Fort Abraham Lincoln State Park in a Motorhome.

The On a Slant village was very interesting even though neither of the 2 scheduled guides showed up that day. The Commadore's House where General Custer lived was also informative - part of the expensive entrance fee is due to these 2 features.

Very nice park. We were here in off season, mid-week so there were not a lot of campers. Each pull through is for two sites, so you would be close to one other when campground is full.
