Stayed 2 nights. Office staff were pleasant. Roads were easy to navigate with 45 ft MH and toad. Drive slowly and the dust will stay down. It's a dirt campsite but we dealt with it. Pull through sites for MH were very close. Sewer hose was next to picnic table. It was hot so we ate indoors and put lawn chairs in front of MH. We couldn't get OTA TV or satellite (trees). But we were busy sight seeing, at going to the Musical. We camped at Medora Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Theodore Roosevelt National Park is beautiful. Nice visitor center and drive. Buck Hill is spectacular. We heard coyotes! It showered lightly and was a bit muddy but we hiked many trails anyway. Attended the Medora Musical, it's not something we usually go to and we were surprised at the price even with a senior d/c. It was ok. Medora doesn't have grocery store so stock up before you stay here. We would stay here again.

Large RV campground with gravel roads and narrow pull thru and back in sites with table. Only view is a close up of RV in the next site. Lots of widely spaced trees. Separate tent areas. Free un-secured Wi-Fi. Kids playground in the CG but no game room but a city park with heated swimming pool and large kids play area only 2 blocks away. Very good Verizon cell and 4G signal. Satellite TV signal only in about half the sites between trees. No cable TV. No scheduled activities or breakfasts etc. Staff friendly and helpful. At the edge of the wonderful small town of Medora. Stayed 4 days to explore the town and area and would stay there again. City park and no discounts. We camped at Medora Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

A bit expensive for what you get, but excellent location to T. Roosevelt NP. Our site was extremely close to our drivers side neighbor. Site next door was a very short pull through. Their awning almost touched our slide out. We could see straight into their coach as they could see into ours. Park is mostly gravel and dirt. Rained first day and water and mud puddles stayed for our 3 days there. Our sewer hookup was under our neighbor's table. Careful walking pets as there is prickly pear cactus in perimeter areas. We camped at Medora Campground in a Motorhome.

Positives: Very, very close to the entrance of Theodor Roosevelt NP. Pretty nice setting as well. Has a playground my kids enjoyed. Negatives: The sites were too close (but plenty long). I made sure that I left enough room next to my neighbor's picnic table as to not crowd them when I pulled in, but the neighbors on the other side of me did not do the same. We had maybe 2' of clearance between our picnic table and the neighbor's rig. I think the price is too much considering how packed in the sites were & given the location. Bathrooms were adequate & had tp, hand soap and hand dryers. Did not shower there. Wish I had stayed inside TRNP instead. We camped at Medora Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Pulled in without a reservation & got an OK site. Dirt pad, dirt roads. Trees. So there was shade. At $42 for the night it seemed pricey for what we got. Lots of family's there looking like they were having lots of fun. We camped at Medora Campground in a Motorhome.

Campground is dirty and dusty. Sites are very narrow - way too small for the camping units placed there. Picnic table had to sit on neighbors sewer hole. A lot of college students working as summer staff. They were very friendly and helpful. Campground gets a lot of business because of the wonderful Medora musical. Would not stay at this campground again. We camped at Medora Campground in a Motorhome.

We came here for the Medora Musical which is held in a huge ampitheatre directly across from (but up a long, steep hill so you'll want to drive) this city owned campground. The Musical was wonderful. Medora is a very friendly town of 120 year round residents, but as many as 2000 people attend the musical nightly. Train tracks are 1/2 mile away but and trains run several times a day but don't blow their horns. Great free Wifi. Laundry. Rental cabins.City owned swimming pool and huge inflatable waterslide. Tent sites. No permanent residents. We camped at Medora Campground in a Motorhome.

Things to do in the area: golf course, horseback riding, Theodore Roosevelt National Park, Chateau DeMores, restaurants (including a Gospel brunch), ice cream and gift shops. Western history museum. Stock up before you come-no grocery store. We stayed four nights. True Western town with a lot of local pride. It is not uncommon to see cowboys taking a leisurely horseback ride through town at night for entertainment. Loved it here and would gladly stay here again.

This is not a place to sit outside and enjoy the night unless you like looking at the side of the rig next to you. Sites were very cramped. Most awnings could not be used. Typically, the picnic table sat above your neighbor's sewer connection. The price charged seemed about $12 too high but the campground is very close to the south entrance of the Teddy Roosevelt National Park. Medora itself is a company town with all the tourist trappings: $13 hamburgers; a "general store" which sells only pseudo antiques, etc. We camped at Medora Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The South Unit of TRNP has a 32-mile loop road well worth the drive for geology and animals. The national park has well-marked hiking trails; details at the Visitor Center. The North Unit, 52 miles away, is worth a couple hours on the 7-mile non-loop road is you're traveling that way. There is a spectacular view at the River Bend Overlook.

Great place to access TRNP from. The park was clean and the staff was friendly. The laundry room was clean and quite a bargain at $1.00 to wash and .25 for 10 minutes of dry time. Sites were a bit narrow but just long enough for our truck and fifth wheel. We camped at Medora Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Be sure to take the path at the end of office, over the berm for an enjoyable place to sit, relax and view the Little Missouri River. My husband spotted a bald eagle on the ledge overlooking the river.

Okay, this isn't a high end park but seriously, we're parked against a steep hillside that if it rains could have a landslide. We had to move since they forgot to transfer my request for 50 amps when I changed to reservation. The sites are tight and really crappy - mostly dirt in the letter section. Wi-Fi works fine and the $3 upcharge for the cable is necessary if you want more than 1 station. The only reason to be here if for the park and a great golf course. The town looks interesting and you can walk to town from the RV park. This park rates in my lower 10% so come here with knowledge that it's not the best one but doable for a few days. We camped at Medora Campground in a Motorhome.

Sites here are extremely close together! Mostly dirt with some patches of grass. The location is great though to go and explore the park or town. The folks at the check-in were nice & informative. We were very thankful that the park wasn't full. If it had been it would have been too tight to finagle our truck & trailer around. No fire rings but there is a moveable BBQ type stand at each spot. The hookups all worked very well. We camped at Medora Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Great location close to Medora, the musical, and the national park. Otherwise it is a very average campground. Registration staff was very helpful and efficient. Roads and campsites are gravel and dirt. The back-in sites have some shade and space, the pull-through sites are in the open, short, and very close together. The bathrooms were fairly clean. Wifi worked slowly. There was enough space along the park to walk a dog. The park is adequate for an overnight to see the local sights. We camped at Medora Campground in a Motorhome.

We were concerned about the mediocre ratings this park got. From beginning to end we found it more than adequate. The sites were narrow and we can see how it gets heavy use, but it was convenient to town and the Roosevelt Narional Park. Staff was more than helpful not only in the park but in making reservations for the different activities in town. We had adequate satellite service and good Verizon Wifi. We would have no problem staying here again. We camped at Medora Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

The Roosevelt National Park was quite interesting. Also the Medora Musical and the Theodore Roosevelt presentation were well worth the time. Lots of opportunities for music and activities. This town has done a good job of maximizing their quest for your tourist dollar in a very acceptable way. Quite a surprise for North Dakota.. the "Carmel" of North Dakota

Nice city campground. The pull-thru sites were pretty close (way too close when your neighbor starts the diesel at 6:00) but adequate and long enough for our tow vehicle. Our site was quite shady which was great on a hot August day. The hook-ups were easy to use and the laundry was clean and good. It was $1.00 to wash and $.25 to dry. Can you ask for better prices?

It was close to town and the National Park and the chimney which marks the old packing house. You can also walk to the Chateau de Mores.

We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Medora Campground in a Motorhome.

The Maah Daah Hey trail is very nice if you like a nice trail through the hills southwest of the town. Beautiful views and no one else around. We also like the trails off of the park road. Nice walk into town and there are 3 ice cream shops: whoo-eee. The Chateau de Mores is a cool slice of history and the museum and house are excellent. Be sure to catch the guide tour of the Roosevelt cabin.
