Perfect location to Theodore Roosevelt National Park South Unit / the Badlands. Full hook-ups, excellent wi-fi capable of streaming Hulu, good AT&T cell signal but no T-Mobile. Quiet park, mostly sightseeing adults / retirees when we were here (late August). Our site was mostly level, long enough for our Rv with the tow parked sideways behind it. We were able to fill our onboard propane here. I thought this park was an excellent value; would definitely stay here again. We camped at Medora Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

No grocery or gas stations nearby. Very close to T.R. National Park entrance. Entry to the park is $30 per vehicle - recommend an America the Beautiful pass ($80 annual if you're not yet 62) if you plan to visit lots of national parks.

Showers were private. Bathrooms were mostly clean. Spaces were tight, not much room to yourself. Price is high, but free WiFi which worked better in our first site than second. Beautiful views. Access to pools. We camped at Medora Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed two nights in Medora to see the musical. Reservation process was good, check in was smooth. Sites are a bit tighter than we prefer, but we had good neighbors so it was no issue. We would stay here again. I rate it as a 9 rather than a 10 just because the sites are a bit tighter than we prefer. *If traveling with dogs, the dog area isn't the best as there is prickly pear cactus in it. Stay at the edge and you won't have an issue. However, the park just down the road on the edge of town allows off leash which gave us a chance to really give the dogs a good run. Just PLEASE, pick up after your "kids". We camped at Medora Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We took our propane fire pit with us so we were able to have a "campfire" at our site. Really made the evening enjoyable to sit by a fire.

Nice location in regards to the night show. It sits on the Little Missouri River. The campground was full when we were there and our neighbors are quite close. Our neighbor's sewer connection is very close to our picnic table. We did not use the table, but it still is not an appetizing setup. Also, there was a grill at our site. It had not been cleaned so the grill had a hefty stack of burned wood in it. In spite of these issues, we would stay 1 or 2 nites again ay this location. We camped at Medora Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

It is convenient to the Medora Musical Show. There is a 36 mile badlands park nearby with a scenic wildlife drive and good area for hiking. Also, south of town about 3 miles is a scenic 9 hole golf course.

Overall Rating:

We had made our reservations 4 months prior for a FHU site for 2 nights. We have a 36 foot fifth wheel. The first site we were given was not doable. We were told to we had to pull through a back-in site. Utilities were on wrong side and we would have to drive through a large grassy area to return to the road. When we complained we were told someone would come out to the site and we were to try again. So, after the second attempt, the office agreed it was not going to work. They said there was only one site available that we would fit into. It was unbelievable how close we were to our neighbors. After a lot of maneuvering we finally got into the site and luckily we had very nice neighbors on either side. Our neighbor's sewer hose was directly underneath our camper steps. We were able to get our slide out, but not our awning. We could not move the picnic table next to the camper, so it was out by the road. The staff attitude was very disappointing. We camped at Medora Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a busy campground right at the entrance to the North Dakota Badlands. The sites and well laid out but they have put as many sites in the campground as they can. That said, they were clean and efficient and it is the best campground to stay at if you want quick access to the Badlands. We camped at Medora Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Rustic can be charming. Or rustic can be dust, dirt, mud and clay with weeds and unmowed grass sites. Minimal energy and money on maintenance. Spaces are not just unlevel, they have lumps/speed bumps. The only differentiation between spaces are the utilities. We had a back in space that was so short we decided to drive thru a field just to get into the space. The office guy even suggested it. Vehicles everywhere. Poor access to satellite/cottonwood trees and no cable. Other utilities worked fine. Park is only 1/2 mile from the NP entrance and town. Medora is a cool little town that we really enjoyed. National Park was magnificent. The price you pay for access is a very average/at best RV park. There are really only 2 choices in the greater park area (discounting camping in the park). Loved the town and park but I would not come back. It is a long haul from anywhere and this park seems to do the minimum. I really have nothing positive to say about the park other than it's location. We camped at Medora Campground in a Motorhome.

Pulled in without a reservation & got an OK site. Dirt pad, dirt roads. Trees. So there was shade. At $42 for the night it seemed pricey for what we got. Lots of family's there looking like they were having lots of fun. We camped at Medora Campground in a Motorhome.

Positives: Very, very close to the entrance of Theodor Roosevelt NP. Pretty nice setting as well. Has a playground my kids enjoyed. Negatives: The sites were too close (but plenty long). I made sure that I left enough room next to my neighbor's picnic table as to not crowd them when I pulled in, but the neighbors on the other side of me did not do the same. We had maybe 2' of clearance between our picnic table and the neighbor's rig. I think the price is too much considering how packed in the sites were & given the location. Bathrooms were adequate & had tp, hand soap and hand dryers. Did not shower there. Wish I had stayed inside TRNP instead. We camped at Medora Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

A bit expensive for what you get, but excellent location to T. Roosevelt NP. Our site was extremely close to our drivers side neighbor. Site next door was a very short pull through. Their awning almost touched our slide out. We could see straight into their coach as they could see into ours. Park is mostly gravel and dirt. Rained first day and water and mud puddles stayed for our 3 days there. Our sewer hookup was under our neighbor's table. Careful walking pets as there is prickly pear cactus in perimeter areas. We camped at Medora Campground in a Motorhome.

Large RV campground with gravel roads and narrow pull thru and back in sites with table. Only view is a close up of RV in the next site. Lots of widely spaced trees. Separate tent areas. Free un-secured Wi-Fi. Kids playground in the CG but no game room but a city park with heated swimming pool and large kids play area only 2 blocks away. Very good Verizon cell and 4G signal. Satellite TV signal only in about half the sites between trees. No cable TV. No scheduled activities or breakfasts etc. Staff friendly and helpful. At the edge of the wonderful small town of Medora. Stayed 4 days to explore the town and area and would stay there again. City park and no discounts. We camped at Medora Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed 2 nights. Office staff were pleasant. Roads were easy to navigate with 45 ft MH and toad. Drive slowly and the dust will stay down. It's a dirt campsite but we dealt with it. Pull through sites for MH were very close. Sewer hose was next to picnic table. It was hot so we ate indoors and put lawn chairs in front of MH. We couldn't get OTA TV or satellite (trees). But we were busy sight seeing, at going to the Musical. We camped at Medora Campground in a Motorhome.

Theodore Roosevelt National Park is beautiful. Nice visitor center and drive. Buck Hill is spectacular. We heard coyotes! It showered lightly and was a bit muddy but we hiked many trails anyway. Attended the Medora Musical, it's not something we usually go to and we were surprised at the price even with a senior d/c. It was ok. Medora doesn't have grocery store so stock up before you stay here. We would stay here again.

Great place to access TRNP from. The park was clean and the staff was friendly. The laundry room was clean and quite a bargain at $1.00 to wash and .25 for 10 minutes of dry time. Sites were a bit narrow but just long enough for our truck and fifth wheel. We camped at Medora Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is not a place to sit outside and enjoy the night unless you like looking at the side of the rig next to you. Sites were very cramped. Most awnings could not be used. Typically, the picnic table sat above your neighbor's sewer connection. The price charged seemed about $12 too high but the campground is very close to the south entrance of the Teddy Roosevelt National Park. Medora itself is a company town with all the tourist trappings: $13 hamburgers; a "general store" which sells only pseudo antiques, etc. We camped at Medora Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The South Unit of TRNP has a 32-mile loop road well worth the drive for geology and animals. The national park has well-marked hiking trails; details at the Visitor Center. The North Unit, 52 miles away, is worth a couple hours on the 7-mile non-loop road is you're traveling that way. There is a spectacular view at the River Bend Overlook.
