The cg is under new management as of May 2017. The new owner is making improvements but has his priorities backward. He has installed new electric in the existing sites then went on to clearing land for new sites, this left the existing sites and roads a mud pit. He should have leveled the sites, improved the drainage and put gravel on, or even paved, the roads! We arrived on 9/13 after 3 days of rain. The entrance road is dirt, full of pot holes and the trees that need to be trimmed so they do not hit big rigs. We are only 11' 11" tall and hit branches. Once you got to the entrance kiosk the road turned to mud, you could see where they had trenched in the electric causing mud all over the "road". The owner offered us a 50% discount, but we chose to go across the street to a dry campground with 50 amp pull throughs, lots of grass and NO mud. We camped at Adventures East Campground & Cottages in a Motorhome.

New owners are actively spending money and making improvements. The electrical in the existing sites has been upgraded and worked very well. The WiFi system has been updated and worked great. Dump station is not convenient on arrival or departure. A new section is being added and appears to being done right. Roads are pot holded and trees need trimming. The existing sites are extremely unlevel and muddy during rains. Because of the unlevel sites, I will not stay here again until improvements are made. We camped at Adventures East Campground & Cottages in a Motorhome.

Staff was friendly and helpful and were present until late in the evening.

We stayed in a full hook up site and hookups were well placed and easy to access. Sites were not level and as some have noted, leveling a motor home was not simple, even with automatic levelers.

Electric power was about 105 V AC measured in the coach and required judicious use of appliances to avoid damage to appliances. We camped at Adventures East Campground & Cottages in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We ate at the Red Barn, a nearby restaurant. We ordered four different menu items and all were good and service was excellent. Prices were reasonable and we would recommend it.

The Cabot Trail is the one attraction that most come here for and it lives up to its reputation. The government does tax your trip though by requiring you to purchase a one day minimum pass to enter the park which the Cabot Trail passes through.

The only problem I see is most of the lots aren't level. The sites have water and 30 amps. They have a dump station. We camped at Adventures East Campground & Cottages in a Motorhome.

It took me an hour to try to level up our motorhome. Had to jack the front wheels up 8". We ran out of blocking and still not level. Sites do not level well for motorhome. Trailers can level easier. WiFi near front gate is nonexistent with a 2 watt booster. Not much cell phone to hot spot. Great looking pool. Power with no air conditioning on was 108 volts. With 1 A/C, 102 volts; this will burn them out. My first review that I have really had some issues. Front gate staff really friendly.

Site could be very easily leveled with 6 yards of gravel, and WiFi could be improved inexpensively less than $c.25 per site per day. I know this. We camped at Adventures East Campground & Cottages in a Motorhome.

We stayed at campground as an overnight after traveling the Cabot Trail. Was a nice smaller campground. Sites we combination of grass and gravel on a little hill, but had good drainage. Nothing special but a good stop over place. Pool and baths were clean and gate attendant was very nice. We camped at Adventures East Campground & Cottages in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice RV park. Roads are good. Park is clean. We had friends meet us and rent one of the cabins and they are definitely priced too high. Wi-Fi was good and when it went down the staff was quick to respond and reset. Staff was very nice and accommodating. Power was a little low but worked pretty good. Convenient to Cabot Trail and Baddeck. We would stay here again. We camped at Adventures East Campground & Cottages in a Motorhome.

We stayed three nights but found the power was very unreliable. We couldn't even run our microwave because the power dropped to about 108 volts. Couldn't get level either. WiFi worked sometimes but was most often unusable. Campground is well kept. No store or supplies on site but the Red Barn store is a minute down the road. Easy access to Cabot Trail. Some nice treed sites close to washrooms but they are also close to major highway. Might bother some light sleepers. Washrooms were clean, staff were friendly. We camped at Adventures East Campground & Cottages in a Motorhome.

Sites were roomy enough for our 38' rig. Lots of shade. Satellite TV is a challenge. Site 22 was perfectly quiet - no traffic noise. Wi-Fi was excellent (in June - park was almost empty). Rate is Passport America. We would stay here again. We camped at Adventures East Campground & Cottages in a Motorhome.

Restrooms, showers, and laundry clean and well maintained. We stayed here 5 days, booked it blind. Sites are close together. We had shade trees BUT campsites 1 to 17 are VERY close to Highway 105 and get blasted with truck noise from early morning, through darkness. The map of the campsite we were handed at the entry is wrong. It indicates that the highway is some distance away whereas in reality it is on an angle that cuts close to the campsites. Check it's layout on Google Earth it's right across the road from the Cabot Trail Campsites (now a KOA). Wi-Fi is poor. Pool and playground are nice if you have kids. Want quiet, go elsewhere or make sure you pick one of the sites not listed above. We camped at Adventures East Campground & Cottages in a Travel Trailer.

We arrived at Adventures East for a 7 night stay. We were assigned site 24. We found the site to be adequate size for our 37', four slide 5th wheel camper. We had a nice stand of trees shielding us from the site next to us on the awning side of the camper. That worked well for us. The sites here are quite narrow, if all sites are filled, campers are quite tight to each other. We were permitted to set up a kids tent on our site. The kids enjoyed the pool. The pool house had bathrooms, showers and the laundry. All was very clean and neat. A fire ban was in effect for the entire week. We could not have a campfire. The danger level was red (level 4) when we arrived, but was downgraded to blue (level 2) while we were here. The ban was not lifted. We missed having a campfire. They have free Wi-Fi, but the connection was frustratingly slow most of the time we were here. This is why we rated this campground a 9 rather than a 10. We would certainly stay here again. We camped at Adventures East Campground & Cottages in a Fifth Wheel.

Very convenient campground to tourist areas on Cape Breton Island: Baddeck, Bras d'Or Lake, Cabot Trail. Clean, well-kept and quiet. All sites are back-ins, quite a number in an open field as you first arrive, with several in under trees further in to the park. Being off peak season, we were allowed to chose our site with the manager recommending 2 because of our size. Roadway in the campground was packed gravel and sites are clearly marked. We chose our site and felt it was a nice size for our rig (35', 3 slides, 2 awnings). Other sites were not as deep or wide. A few of the wooded sites back to the "highway" so they could be noisy during the day, but traffic was light at night so I don't think there'd be as much of a noise issue. Bathrooms and showers were clean and did not look or feel their age (manager said they were 20 years, I'd have guessed 5). Laundry has 4 washers and 4 dryers. Swimming pool was not open when we were here, but they were getting it ready. Small playground for kids. Adventures East has 3 cottages for rent and just a few seasonal campers. Manager was very informative on area with numerous suggestions of places to go see and do. Although they are not on the water, there is a place to put your boat in to Bras d'Or Lake right at the bottom of their campground road. We loved the convenience of putting our kayaks in. Great place for eagle watching. We chose this campground because they are Passport America. We would return here if our travels bring us this way again. We made reservations through C2C and thus the rate of $10. We were fortunate to get a site that would accommodate our 43' Motor Home. The manager was exceptional and so accommodating. We arrived prior to the holiday weekend and it really filled up over the weekend. The restrooms and showers were spotless. Wi-Fi was very fast. Pool was clean, but we did not use it. This park has had some bad reviews in the past, but I found it to be a great place to stay. Few amenities, but we do not need to be entertained. It is so convenient to doing the Cabot Trail and also did a day trip to Louisbourg. We'd come back to this park. We camped at Adventures East Campground & Cottages in a Motorhome.

We made a reservation for this park online after reading reviews here. We did not stay though. The sites are anything but level and absolutely impossible for larger rigs. they might be ok for a shorter MH or a fiver, but with a 40' MH no chance. We were guaranteed satellite view, but all sites are wooded. The staff here has no clue, but stayed friendly when we decided to leave. (We went then across the street to another campground which was almost perfect.) We camped at Adventures East Campground & Cottages in a Motorhome.
