Loved this CG--good wifi, level sites, very clean and close to everything. There are nature trails, one going down to a lake/pond where our pooch loved to swim. One thing I liked is that they have invested a lot of money in planting new trees. There are many stumps where old trees have died and one can see the CG was heavily treed in the past. The planting of new trees shows they are invested in the future. All in all, an exceptional rv park. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Beddeck area is one of Nova Scotia's secrets. Entrance to Cabbot Trail which is in itself worth the entire visit. Campground is old KOA but well kept with lots of things for the family. We are seniors so we concentrated on the beauty of the area and the village of Beddeck. Access is easy from main highway and all services were as advertised. Definitely would stay again. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a nice park; a former KOA but with improvements. Not hot enough to test AC requirements. Laundry room was acceptable. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Found a nice yarn shop in town. Convenient for riding Cabot Trail, which, not withstanding guidebooks, cannot be toured in one day to enjoy hiking, etc. One might want to plan to camp in the park. Trail might be tough for a big rig.

Great location to check out Cabot Trail and other attractions in this area. The owners are very friendly. Some sites are on hilly area but we had a nice level one for our 40' RV. Nice solid gravel sites. Very good value. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

This a great location for driving the Cabot Trail in either direction. Leave your camper here while you explore the scenic and steep road of the C.T. There is a sign on the road for the CG but the RV sites are not visible since there is a nice forest of evergreens on the paved entry road. Easy check in at office. The sites are on an uphill slope but we were able to get level without too much trouble. Our site had a buffer of bushes for privacy from the adjacent site but many do not. The picnic table was located on uneven ground however so we used some pieces of lumber to get that usable. The shower room is clean and well equipped. The stalls could be a little bigger. The onsite restaurant with limited menu is handy when you don't want to cook or drive to the restaurants in Baddeck. The office has DVD's you can borrow for free as well as a store for things you forgot to bring. Had a nice swim in their pool. The walk to the very small beach is quite long so wear something better than flip flops. WiFi variable and inconsistent. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Rate indicates a good sam discount. Check-in was very easy. However, the first site that we were assigned to was very narrow and not level in either direction. We went back to the office and asked for a different site knowing that we would be there for 3 nights. The woman working the desk appeared to be a little put off by our request. Another worker said that he would look at what he could do for us and that they needed a little time to look at all of the reservations. Sure enough they were able to give us a different site, which we were very happy with. The pedestal had great power and the best water pressure that we have had at any campground. Wifi was available at our site which was a great amenity. We were able to get 2 channels on our antenna. The campground overall has some positives and negatives. First the positives. The campground is in a great location so that you can access the Cabot Trail in either direction. The campground was clean, had a pool, and a small hiking trail along the lake. The negatives: The office closes at 8pm which was quite a drag as we never made it back in the evening before that so we could buy fire wood. We tried to purchase some wood at the local gas stations but they did not sell any either. This campground has several sites that I would not stay on. It is on the side of a hill and many of the sites have roots all over them. So when you step out of your camper you nearly twist an ankle. We also noticed that kids run around the campground and even through your site with no regards. Staff is no where to be found nor are the kids parents to patrol the campground and everyone just does what they want. If we were to travel in the area again we would try a different campground. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Extremely clean washrooms and showers (3). It was early in their season. We only needed 15A but office staff suggested 15A sites were further away from facilities, so they said we could find a 30A site closer to washrooms, etc. for the same price. We appreciated that as my wife uses a wheelchair. I would definitely recommend this campground and will stay there again when I am in the area. Great central location for sightseeing. Check-in was quick and we were allowed to choose our site which was different. We were able to pick what worked for us. Power and water pressure was good although the water has an iron flavor. Cable was wires running down the length of the area where we were but worked. WiFi was great. We would stay here again and recommend it to others. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is the ideal location situated as it is at a juncture that allows one circumnavigate the Cabot Trail in one day and also the Ceilidh Trail in a day; it is about a 90 minute drive from Louisburg. On arrival we were warmly greeted by the staff who had a pre-assembled package of local area attractions to present to us, they then escorted us to our site #155 which was spacious and level. One aspect of the campground which delighted us was the attention paid to landscaping. The onsite Café serves excellent food, all freshly prepared to order - try the Chowder it's excellent. Wi-Fi excellent, showers have great pressure and the whole restroom ambiance is good and clean. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

We picked this park because of its proximity to the Cabot Trail. The park is fine. The sites are NOT level. Our auto level system could not handle it. We were traveling with friends, and we got 2 pull throughs side by side facing each other, and we shared the space in between. Wi-Fi is iffy as it comes and goes. Check in was very friendly, and the laundromat is clean with lots of machines. The sites are narrow with not a lot of room to walk around your RV. We were there for 7 nights, and we did enjoy it. This is an old KOA campground. They give both KOA and Good Sam discounts which is good. Our 5th is just shy of 40 feet in length and this park is fairly old which makes getting around the park a challenge. Park owners and staff were great. Good solid WIFI and power. Would probably try somewhere else next time only due to the narrowness of roads, etc. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is the most popular campground in the Baddeck area. It is also my suggested choice. It is run by a very efficient and friendly German family. They have spent a lot of time and money on this campground. The Pros. Big site. Licensed restaurant, heated pool, great for kids, river beach, canoeing and hiking trail. Half a mile off the road, so almost no road noise. Cons. Very close compact sites, sharing utility pole. Almost no room between sites. Whilst we were there, our neighbors sat under our slide out to get shade from the sun. We found ourselves whispering because we thought our neighbors could hear us. We stayed five nights and could rarely get on the Internet. In fact, we even sat outside the office to get a good signal with zero results. If you don't have a router or personal hotspot on your cell phone you will be extremely frustrated. No cable and no over the air channels. Bring a DVD! Several 50amp sites (18), good pull through, sites are somewhat "all over," good water pressure, power is solid, heated pool. Antenna TV virtually non-existent as is satellite. I never speak of the staff but this is the most accommodating staff/owners I have ever met. Clearly will stay again. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

Don't know how this gets such high ratings by Good Sam. Big rig sites are east-west, and very close together. Restrooms and showers were clean, but old. Laundry facilities were barely adequate, with two of the six dryers out of order. Lots of recycle containers around the campground, but one dumpster for garbage near the office. Staff friendly and helpful with tips for the Cabot Trail. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Motorhome.
