Good Sam discount rate for a nine day stay. Site was a pull-through, level, gravel, FHU with 50 amp. Our site was a "buddy" site where our entry door would have faced the neighbors entry door and shared a common patio area, but fortunately no one was on the neighboring site during our stay.

We had weak Verizon cell and internet reception (on our Verizon Canada roaming plan). We did not have DishTV satellite reception, but that may have been because of the trees. We had no OTA TV reception. The park WiFi was spotty; some times it was fast, but other times it was painfully slow. Laundry facility was adequate with 5 top load washers ($3) and 8 dryers ($1 for 22 minutes). The entry road to the park and the parks interior roads are rough, but manageable. We would stay here again. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We used this campground as our base for exploring Cape Breton.

It is 90 minutes to the Cape Breton Highlands National Park via either Cheticamp or Ingonish. It is 90 minutes to the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site. It is 10 minutes to the restaurants and shopping in Baddeck and the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site.

Nice campground as base for exploring Cape Breton National Park. Level full hook up 50 amp back in gravel sites. Firepit and table in tight quarters. WIFI only works in off hours. No local channels. Nice heated pool and beach access. Good amenities and store on site. Would stay here again. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

As stated before, road into campground is pretty rough. Staff very helpful and friendly. Campground was crowded, sites are tiered due to terrain so our slide was almost in our neighbor's site. Laundry facilities were very good. No cable (found that to be the case at all the Canadian campgrounds we stayed in). WiFi not very good and Verizon cell reception not great - usually 1 or 2 bars, rarely 4G. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a former KOA facility. If you are in a smaller MH or trailer, you'll probably get a nice site, possibly with views. But if you are in a longer motorhome requiring 50 amp service, be aware. Many of the sites into which they try to squeeze larger rigs are unbelievably cramped. I have photos of rigs so closely spaced that their awnings are overlapping, their slideouts are within 2 feet of each other and slideouts on the other side are only inches from a utility building. I was instructed to put my coach so close to another unit that its owner complained that he couldn't get his bicycles off of a rear-mounted rack. Further, the wifi which another reviewer touted so highly barely worked during our stay (during mid-July when the park was crowded). There are much nicer parks nearby. I personally wouldn't return to this one. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

Family owned campground which is exceptionally managed by multigenerational family members. One of them was always available and usually seen working in some capacity throughout our wk's stay. We had a nice long pull through with distant neighbors. Some sites are a little tight and this one would have been had it been totally filled. Water pressure was good, no cable or TV reception, but excellent cell reception and super fast WIFI. Very convenient for the Loop and for exploring the cute little town, as well as many other interesting sites near by. When we asked if we could rinse our motorcycle before putting the cover on it, the owner wanted to know if we wanted to move it somewhere more accessible to water! One dryer malfunctioned during the cycle and the owner's son apologized profusely and promptly put an out of order sign on it. I was very impressed with this campground! Very friendly and helpful staff. Extremely clean washrooms and showers (3). It was early in their season. We only needed 15A but office staff suggested 15A sites were further away from facilities, so they said we could find a 30A site closer to washrooms, etc. for the same price. We appreciated that as my wife uses a wheelchair. I would definitely recommend this campground and will stay there again when I am in the area. This is the ideal location situated as it is at a juncture that allows one circumnavigate the Cabot Trail in one day and also the Ceilidh Trail in a day; it is about a 90 minute drive from Louisburg. On arrival we were warmly greeted by the staff who had a pre-assembled package of local area attractions to present to us, they then escorted us to our site #155 which was spacious and level. One aspect of the campground which delighted us was the attention paid to landscaping. The onsite Café serves excellent food, all freshly prepared to order - try the Chowder it's excellent. Wi-Fi excellent, showers have great pressure and the whole restroom ambiance is good and clean. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

Don't know how this gets such high ratings by Good Sam. Big rig sites are east-west, and very close together. Restrooms and showers were clean, but old. Laundry facilities were barely adequate, with two of the six dryers out of order. Lots of recycle containers around the campground, but one dumpster for garbage near the office. Staff friendly and helpful with tips for the Cabot Trail. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for three nights. The sites were very spacious and also very level, with strong Wi-Fi access at the site. The campground itself is in a great location to tour the Cabot Trail, which by the way was one of the most breathtakingly scenic trips my wife and I have ever been on. The park was also very well-maintained; it seemed that someone was always cleaning somewhere. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

Several 50amp sites (18), good pull through, sites are somewhat "all over," good water pressure, power is solid, heated pool. Antenna TV virtually non-existent as is satellite. I never speak of the staff but this is the most accommodating staff/owners I have ever met. Clearly will stay again. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

This is the most popular campground in the Baddeck area. It is also my suggested choice. It is run by a very efficient and friendly German family. They have spent a lot of time and money on this campground. The Pros. Big site. Licensed restaurant, heated pool, great for kids, river beach, canoeing and hiking trail. Half a mile off the road, so almost no road noise. Cons. Very close compact sites, sharing utility pole. Almost no room between sites. Whilst we were there, our neighbors sat under our slide out to get shade from the sun. We found ourselves whispering because we thought our neighbors could hear us. We stayed five nights and could rarely get on the Internet. In fact, we even sat outside the office to get a good signal with zero results. If you don't have a router or personal hotspot on your cell phone you will be extremely frustrated. No cable and no over the air channels. Bring a DVD! After some debate, we decided to use this park as our base for a tour of the Cabot Trail. Great decision. This spot gives you good access to Louisburg, as well as the Cabot Trail. This park was very nice, with wooded and open sites. It sits on top of a rise and the open sites have some lovely views. Very clean and well tended grounds. We had lots of room, but it was still off season. Heated pool. Wi-Fi was fast with a strong signal. The staff is a German family and they were friendly and delightful. Plenty of room for big rigs, but tent sites as well. We saw Bald Eagles flying over everyday. We would definitely return. We stayed three nights. Probably an old KOA campground with great new owners/management. The best campground in the Baddeck, Nova Scotia area. Several good sites for big rigs. Excellent Wi-Fi, good fire rings, small restaurant, pool, camping cabins, etc. Terrific convenience for touring the Cabot Trail etc. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

This is our second visit to this campground. for the past 3 years it is now owned by a very nice family. The most outstanding characteristic here is the way the ownership treats you. They are very attentive to any and all our concerns, most accommodating. Together they enable a very satisfying visit. We have a large coach with a toad and sites were ample. I suggest you that big rigs stay up on the hill. Best Wi-Fi there and open treeless sites. Bathroom are great and clean. It's in the center of the island for convenient touring with your toad. After reading the previous reviews I couldn't wait to get to the RV park for 3-4 days. However, when I got here I found an overcrowded RV park with a large number of seasonals and an awful lot of the sites available to overnighters were terrible. Front end to rear bumper sites made it difficult to get out of. We actually had to back out our 32-footer and hookup later. Crazy. Couldn't sit at the outside table because it sloped so much. Then there were the folks who had a campfire. I love campfires but not in an RV park where sites are so close. The smoke smell filled our RV. As to check in, the road coming in makes the folks checking in stop on a pretty severe up slope before finding out the assigned site. While some folks like this place, this should not be a 9/10/10 on TL's book. A place with such inconsistencies should be much lower rated. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Motorhome.
