Tom's Pizza in Baddeck has great pizza. Along the Cabot Trail unique shops are The Glass Artisans Gallery, in Wreck Cove and Two Macs in Margaree Forks.

Loved this CG--good wifi, level sites, very clean and close to everything. There are nature trails, one going down to a lake/pond where our pooch loved to swim. One thing I liked is that they have invested a lot of money in planting new trees. There are many stumps where old trees have died and one can see the CG was heavily treed in the past. The planting of new trees shows they are invested in the future. All in all, an exceptional rv park. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is a nice park; a former KOA but with improvements. Not hot enough to test AC requirements. Laundry room was acceptable. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Found a nice yarn shop in town. Convenient for riding Cabot Trail, which, not withstanding guidebooks, cannot be toured in one day to enjoy hiking, etc. One might want to plan to camp in the park. Trail might be tough for a big rig.

Rate indicates a good sam discount. Check-in was very easy. However, the first site that we were assigned to was very narrow and not level in either direction. We went back to the office and asked for a different site knowing that we would be there for 3 nights. The woman working the desk appeared to be a little put off by our request. Another worker said that he would look at what he could do for us and that they needed a little time to look at all of the reservations. Sure enough they were able to give us a different site, which we were very happy with. The pedestal had great power and the best water pressure that we have had at any campground. Wifi was available at our site which was a great amenity. We were able to get 2 channels on our antenna. The campground overall has some positives and negatives. First the positives. The campground is in a great location so that you can access the Cabot Trail in either direction. The campground was clean, had a pool, and a small hiking trail along the lake. The negatives: The office closes at 8pm which was quite a drag as we never made it back in the evening before that so we could buy fire wood. We tried to purchase some wood at the local gas stations but they did not sell any either. This campground has several sites that I would not stay on. It is on the side of a hill and many of the sites have roots all over them. So when you step out of your camper you nearly twist an ankle. We also noticed that kids run around the campground and even through your site with no regards. Staff is no where to be found nor are the kids parents to patrol the campground and everyone just does what they want. If we were to travel in the area again we would try a different campground. This a great location for driving the Cabot Trail in either direction. Leave your camper here while you explore the scenic and steep road of the C.T. There is a sign on the road for the CG but the RV sites are not visible since there is a nice forest of evergreens on the paved entry road. Easy check in at office. The sites are on an uphill slope but we were able to get level without too much trouble. Our site had a buffer of bushes for privacy from the adjacent site but many do not. The picnic table was located on uneven ground however so we used some pieces of lumber to get that usable. The shower room is clean and well equipped. The stalls could be a little bigger. The onsite restaurant with limited menu is handy when you don't want to cook or drive to the restaurants in Baddeck. The office has DVD's you can borrow for free as well as a store for things you forgot to bring. Had a nice swim in their pool. The walk to the very small beach is quite long so wear something better than flip flops. WiFi variable and inconsistent. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at this park the night before and after we caught the New Foundland Ferry; the campground is approximately 1 hour from the ferry. It's a nice spot on a hill that leads to a forest then to a lake. It had very clean restrooms and awesome showers. I have a feeling this spot is full of kids during the high season (pool, soccer field, lake with small swimming beach.) Wi-Fi reception was quite good. The nice young couple that managed the park were constantly working, cleaning, and fixing which was reflected in the tidiness of the place. We enjoyed the pool on our return visit. (Pools don't open in Canada until the end of June-beginning of July.) The downside was a bit of road noise from Trans-Canada Highway (TCH) and many insects. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Excellent location in the heart of Cape Breton. We went whale watching in Pleasant Bay. It's gotta be done, and you can couple that with a day trip across the Cabot trail. Another must do is did the Fortress Louisburg. Just be aware it closes at 5 pm and you need four hours to do it. The grounds were clean, always seeing someone doing maintenance/sweeping/cleaning. The showers are clean. The family that runs it goes out of their way to make your stay comfortable. I had an issue with my meds, having to be couriered up from Halifax, and the owners took care of me fabulously. it is the little things that make a campground wonderful and this family are pro's at taking care of the little things. Highly recommended. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Price is with KOA discount. Un-level sites - muddy; good electrical; sewer had to run uphill. Wi-Fi was so-so. Pretty sites with some privacy. Pool was warm and clean. Bigger open sites for MH's had fewer trees but much more space. Small store at front office + restaurant (we did not try it). We would stay here again but before paying we would check out the site and see how unlevel it was. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Good campground for driving the Cabot Trail and the AG Bell National Historic Site in Baddeck. Access road goes from paved to gravel and back to paved. Office looks like an old KOA. The sites vary greatly and the interior roads are rough. We were in the second row from office with 3 way hookups where the Wi-Fi and antenna TV worked fairly well. The campground is very busy with families on weekends. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Good Sam discount. This by far is the best & prettiest campground on Cape Breton Island. Plenty of pull-thru's with Electric, Water, and Sewer. Lots of sites with trees. Only about four miles south of Baddeck. We stayed a week. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Originally we stayed at Glenview Campground (down the road from here). What a mistake that was. Trucks driving by night and day. We left early and went to Cabot Trail Campground. What a difference. Cabot has many pull thru's. Even though it's hilly the sites are level. We had site # 245 pull thru and it was in the trees and level with E-W-S... They have a trail that goes down to the river and canoes are available. Owners were great and the laundry room had plenty of washers and dryers. Very quiet and covenient to Baddeck. Baddeck is a wonderful seaside town and don't miss dinner at Lynwood Inn. Co-Op is across the street to buy groceries. Would definitely stay here again. This was an okay park that is fairly close to Baddeck. It is somewhat hilly and leveling was a problem on our site, but not impossible. The sites are fairly large, but (even though the it has trees) the park has an "open" feel to it. You can walk down to the bay from the park, but the sites are far from the water. The restrooms were clean, as was the park itself. Somehow, it lacked visual appeal, but I guess that is a really subjective judgment. It's just that so much of Cape Breton Island is SO beautiful, that I was a little disapointed in these surroundings. It's an okay, but not outstanding, place to stay.
