The location of this park is the only thing that saved me from giving it a less than average review. The sites for the travelers are VERY tight! To get our 37 Ft fifth wheel to fit onto the site, we had to back up within inches of the camper behind us. When we put our awning out, we had about 2 feet of space to the next rig. Thankfully, we had great neighbors and we all worked together to park our tow vehicles. When we left in the morning, we had to ask neighbors to move their cars so we could exit. The campground is very pretty and their are large areas set aside for playgrounds etc. The more spacious sites are set aside for the seasonal campers. We would not return to this park. Too tight! We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a former KOA facility. If you are in a smaller MH or trailer, you'll probably get a nice site, possibly with views. But if you are in a longer motorhome requiring 50 amp service, be aware. Many of the sites into which they try to squeeze larger rigs are unbelievably cramped. I have photos of rigs so closely spaced that their awnings are overlapping, their slideouts are within 2 feet of each other and slideouts on the other side are only inches from a utility building. I was instructed to put my coach so close to another unit that its owner complained that he couldn't get his bicycles off of a rear-mounted rack. Further, the wifi which another reviewer touted so highly barely worked during our stay (during mid-July when the park was crowded). There are much nicer parks nearby. I personally wouldn't return to this one. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

Rate indicates a good sam discount. Check-in was very easy. However, the first site that we were assigned to was very narrow and not level in either direction. We went back to the office and asked for a different site knowing that we would be there for 3 nights. The woman working the desk appeared to be a little put off by our request. Another worker said that he would look at what he could do for us and that they needed a little time to look at all of the reservations. Sure enough they were able to give us a different site, which we were very happy with. The pedestal had great power and the best water pressure that we have had at any campground. Wifi was available at our site which was a great amenity. We were able to get 2 channels on our antenna. The campground overall has some positives and negatives. First the positives. The campground is in a great location so that you can access the Cabot Trail in either direction. The campground was clean, had a pool, and a small hiking trail along the lake. The negatives: The office closes at 8pm which was quite a drag as we never made it back in the evening before that so we could buy fire wood. We tried to purchase some wood at the local gas stations but they did not sell any either. This campground has several sites that I would not stay on. It is on the side of a hill and many of the sites have roots all over them. So when you step out of your camper you nearly twist an ankle. We also noticed that kids run around the campground and even through your site with no regards. Staff is no where to be found nor are the kids parents to patrol the campground and everyone just does what they want. If we were to travel in the area again we would try a different campground. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is an old KOA campground. They give both KOA and Good Sam discounts which is good. Our 5th is just shy of 40 feet in length and this park is fairly old which makes getting around the park a challenge. Park owners and staff were great. Good solid WIFI and power. Would probably try somewhere else next time only due to the narrowness of roads, etc. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

New owners took over in July and need to get better at managing the park. We made reservations for a pull-through site with 50 amp service, but were told when making the reservation that they would not commit to any particular site and we would be assigned a location upon arrival. When we checked in, we were given our choice of a very short and unlevel pull through with only 30 amp service, or a pull through that became a back in once the other half was filled. In talking with other campers that had made reservations 3 months in advance, they also had similar problems. We found out from other campers that this "rule" only applies to transient campers. Specific sites were promised to "regulars" and the owners made several big rigs move to accommodate these site specific promises made to regulars. There really are only about 6 true 50 amp pull-through sites for big rigs. Most of the other pull-through sites are 30 amp and are on very, very unlevel ground and is not suitable for anything over 30' in length. Also, be aware that even though there is Wi-Fi at the top of the hill where the big rig sites are, it doesn't work unless you force the owner to go up the hill and reset the router: required on a daily basis. The Wi-Fi does work well at the laundry. We might stay here again if the owners clean up their act and give you the type of site you ask for when you make reservations.
