One of the better RV parks in Canada. the owners are very friendly and have excellent service. We had no problem getting our 40' 5th wheel into our spot. They escort you to your spot and guide you in if you need help. Water pressure is good, connections are placed properly. Wifi was very good compared to 90% of parks in North America. We were in the area at the top of the park, lots of space between spots. Was here 2 years ago and highly recommend this location to explore the Cabot Trail and Sydney; do the trail one day, Sydney and Louisburg the other and that's enough for Cape Breton! We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Spend one day driving the Cabot Trail, and one day exploring Sydney and the Louisburg Fortress. If you really need to go to Newfoundland? you can take the ferry from Sydney

This is the second time we have stayed here and we think it is a very good campground. We ask for the pull throughs in the 240/250s range and they are quite spacious - obviously not as large as you can get in a Provincial or State park, but good for a commercial campground. We have a 36 foot 5th wheel, with 3 slideouts (on both sides) and we're fine. There was plenty of room to park our truck without feeling cramped. The campground has all of the facilities, good washrooms, pool, woodland trail, convenience store (with complimentary DVD rentals) and a campers' lodge with free coffee, TV, pool table etc. The owners are friendly and helpful, and it is dog friendly. The campground is only a 5-10 min drive to Baddeck. We like it here. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Date of Stay: October, 2015 - $44.00
Overall Rating:

Family owned campground which is exceptionally managed by multigenerational family members. One of them was always available and usually seen working in some capacity throughout our wk's stay. We had a nice long pull through with distant neighbors. Some sites are a little tight and this one would have been had it been totally filled. Water pressure was good, no cable or TV reception, but excellent cell reception and super fast WIFI. Very convenient for the Loop and for exploring the cute little town, as well as many other interesting sites near by. When we asked if we could rinse our motorcycle before putting the cover on it, the owner wanted to know if we wanted to move it somewhere more accessible to water! One dryer malfunctioned during the cycle and the owner's son apologized profusely and promptly put an out of order sign on it. I was very impressed with this campground! We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

Loved this CG--good wifi, level sites, very clean and close to everything. There are nature trails, one going down to a lake/pond where our pooch loved to swim. One thing I liked is that they have invested a lot of money in planting new trees. There are many stumps where old trees have died and one can see the CG was heavily treed in the past. The planting of new trees shows they are invested in the future. All in all, an exceptional rv park. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Extremely clean washrooms and showers (3). It was early in their season. We only needed 15A but office staff suggested 15A sites were further away from facilities, so they said we could find a 30A site closer to washrooms, etc. for the same price. We appreciated that as my wife uses a wheelchair. I would definitely recommend this campground and will stay there again when I am in the area. This is the ideal location situated as it is at a juncture that allows one circumnavigate the Cabot Trail in one day and also the Ceilidh Trail in a day; it is about a 90 minute drive from Louisburg. On arrival we were warmly greeted by the staff who had a pre-assembled package of local area attractions to present to us, they then escorted us to our site #155 which was spacious and level. One aspect of the campground which delighted us was the attention paid to landscaping. The onsite Café serves excellent food, all freshly prepared to order - try the Chowder it's excellent. Wi-Fi excellent, showers have great pressure and the whole restroom ambiance is good and clean. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

Great central location for sightseeing. Check-in was quick and we were allowed to choose our site which was different. We were able to pick what worked for us. Power and water pressure was good although the water has an iron flavor. Cable was wires running down the length of the area where we were but worked. WiFi was great. We would stay here again and recommend it to others. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here for three nights. The sites were very spacious and also very level, with strong Wi-Fi access at the site. The campground itself is in a great location to tour the Cabot Trail, which by the way was one of the most breathtakingly scenic trips my wife and I have ever been on. The park was also very well-maintained; it seemed that someone was always cleaning somewhere. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

Several 50amp sites (18), good pull through, sites are somewhat "all over," good water pressure, power is solid, heated pool. Antenna TV virtually non-existent as is satellite. I never speak of the staff but this is the most accommodating staff/owners I have ever met. Clearly will stay again. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Motorhome.

After some debate, we decided to use this park as our base for a tour of the Cabot Trail. Great decision. This spot gives you good access to Louisburg, as well as the Cabot Trail. This park was very nice, with wooded and open sites. It sits on top of a rise and the open sites have some lovely views. Very clean and well tended grounds. We had lots of room, but it was still off season. Heated pool. Wi-Fi was fast with a strong signal. The staff is a German family and they were friendly and delightful. Plenty of room for big rigs, but tent sites as well. We saw Bald Eagles flying over everyday. We would definitely return. We stayed three nights. Excellent location in the heart of Cape Breton. We went whale watching in Pleasant Bay. It's gotta be done, and you can couple that with a day trip across the Cabot trail. Another must do is did the Fortress Louisburg. Just be aware it closes at 5 pm and you need four hours to do it. The grounds were clean, always seeing someone doing maintenance/sweeping/cleaning. The showers are clean. The family that runs it goes out of their way to make your stay comfortable. I had an issue with my meds, having to be couriered up from Halifax, and the owners took care of me fabulously. it is the little things that make a campground wonderful and this family are pro's at taking care of the little things. Highly recommended. We camped at Baddeck Cabot Trail Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This is our second visit to this campground. for the past 3 years it is now owned by a very nice family. The most outstanding characteristic here is the way the ownership treats you. They are very attentive to any and all our concerns, most accommodating. Together they enable a very satisfying visit. We have a large coach with a toad and sites were ample. I suggest you that big rigs stay up on the hill. Best Wi-Fi there and open treeless sites. Bathroom are great and clean. It's in the center of the island for convenient touring with your toad.
