This was a pretty nice campground, and worked fine as a base for exploring the area. RV sites are close together, all back-ins (back-to-back) along the inside of one narrow loop. The RV parking pads are a narrow strip of raised gravel, which I am guessing is to help with drainage, but it also means you have no flexibility in where to park on the site. There are some young trees interspersed through the RV area, but it definitely has that "Commercial RV Park" feel, i.e. a long row of RVs parked close together with little to break up the view. The rest of the campground is more attractive, with a grassy tent area, a small field, and easy access to the salt water lake. The staff was very helpful in finding us a site for four nights with relatively short notice (a few weeks). The location is pretty central for visiting Cape Breton, but since the island is so large, a lot of driving is still needed to visit most sights. The free WiFi was slow but worked during the day, but was unusable in the evening. AT&T roaming worked very well. The campground is pretty small, and we quickly ran out of places to walk our active dog. Unfortunately, since the campground is right off the highway, we found no other places to walk (i.e. no side roads accessible or nearby). Normally we'd have no issues staying here again, but if we were planning a longer stay we'd likely need to find someplace with access to places for longer dog walks. We camped at Bras D'Or Lakes Campground in a Motorhome.

My wife & I stayed here for 5 nights in our 35 ft 5th wheel. Very nice RV Park, $49 CAD/night plus tax. Included $5/day cable TV charge, which was well worth it! Wifi was very good. The sites are pretty tight, we had some road noise but it didn't really bother us. The staff is very friendly & nice. We would stay here again. Baddeck is a nice little town & the Lake is beautiful. One real CON that I will mention. The restrooms/laundromat were fine. The good news is that they are constructing 6 new showers, 3 for women, 3 for men. However, only 2 of the six showers were actually functional (& not even finished out) during our stay. And NO apparent urgency to complete the restrooms! 10 days before August 1st. I think I actually saw workmen at the restrooms one day during our stay. Are you kidding me? We camped at Bras D'Or Lakes Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed 3 nights in a back-in site. Owners' daughter was very welcoming and friendly. Park "handyman" popped around to help us into our site. Sites are very narrow. Our neighbor's slide outs overhung on our site. Water was on wrong side, so extra length of hose was needed. Nice fire pits, but very little room to sit around a campfire. This is a perfect campground to use as a home base if you are exploring the Cabot trail. Very close to the beginning of the loop. It is not a destination camp as there is not a lot to do here. That being said, the pool is very clean and well maintained, and there is lake access on a very small, pebbly beach area. Two small boats were there while we camped. Very close to TransCanada, therefore lots of road noise, but didn't bother us. Two convoys stopped here while we stayed - a group of motor homes, then a group of air streams. Construction currently being done on washroom/showers, though they do have stalls open while construction is ongoing. We camped at Bras D'Or Lakes Campground in a Travel Trailer.

I expected a better park since it is one of the Top100 GS parks. I wouldn't put it in my own top ten but it is a decent park. Lots of spaces up top have a raised gravel "pad" that you must park on but which is narrow so you can only go back or forward. My slide would not clear the trees on the drivers side unless I pulled forward... as the pad ended before I could pull all the way back to the utilities. Difficult to get settled and connected and needed all 50 feet of hose to connect. Bathrooms were kept clean but very old and worn and SMALL stalls with no handholds to help up from low toilets and doors that opened inwards. Ditto showers...clean and small. Pool was nice. Lake was 1/4 mile away from our site. Wifi was good! Cable was extra but available and station choice was mediocre but better than the OTA! Town is great. Cabot trail is as well. We camped at Bras D'Or Lakes Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Lynhaven restaurant in town ...both meals were excellent. Cabot Trail...lots under construction on the NORTHERN half or the loop. 2 hours delayed & some really bad gravel sections. Suggest taking the clockwise route from Baddeck until you get up to Pleasant Bay.... and either go back the same way or explore further south to Mabout & Ft. Hood . The drive south of Pleasant Bay is truly beautiful.

The owners were so friendly and helpful. Our dog was injured at another park and she broke a stich. Their daughter is a nurse and she glued up our dogs wound. The park was beautifully clean and done. Would love to go back one day.

The sites were big and we had lots of space. They had nice cabins you could rent. They had a separate area for just tents which was very nice. I like to walk and there was a lake in the park, plus across the road where I walked every day.

Overall, this is a very nice park. It has easy access from the highway. The roads are gravel but very well maintained. The sites are big rig friendly and are plenty long enough. The only issue I have with the sites is that the actual surface upon which you may park your rig may be narrow. For me, this meant I had to be very careful backing in our fifth wheel in order to stay on solid ground. It took me several passes to get it right. Depending on the site and how you are positioned, it may be a distance to the facility hookups. I needed my hose, electric, and sewer extensions.

The grounds and buildings are very well maintained. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The park is well positioned to access the Cabot Trail and the town of Baddeck. Plenty of groceries and restaurants are nearby. This is a park that will be a pleasure to come back to. We camped at Bras D'Or Lakes Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Drive the Cabot Trail. It provides magnificent views. There is a chowder house at Neil's Harbor that has great seafood. The mussels were great. Take the Donalda Boat Puffin tour. It's a 2 1/2 hour tour to breeding islands where you can see puffins, seals, all kinds of birds including bald eagles. We must have seen 12 bald eagles. This is well worth the trip and was a highlight. There is a Celtic college with a museum right on the entrance to the Cabot Trail that was a fascinating visit.

This was a nice, quiet campground. Its on the lake - the sites are not right on the lake, but it is a short walk down. The people were very nice and helpful. They arranged for us to get a rental car (we don't have a toad) and they brought it right to our site. Baddeck is a convenient location to do the Cabot Trail and other sites in CB. We also visited the Fortress of Louisbourg (very interesting). We camped at Bras D'Or Lakes Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Have lunch at the High Wheeler Cafe in downtown Baddeck for homemade bread and desserts. (Presumably breakfast is good too.) We had dinner at the Lynwood Inn which was also very nice. There's a co-op (grocery store) and liquor store downtown too. The Alexander Bell museum is very interesting.

A nice campgrpund right on the main road and Bras D'Or Lake, and a great campground for exploring the Cabot Trail and the Alexander Graham Bell Museum.

We stayed here for 2 nights and we had a pull-through site which was $8 more than the back-ins and closer to the water. She said there was great wifi on every site and ours was certainly that.

The campground was clean, staff was friendly and helpful, a maintenance man was working the grounds. I would stay at this campground again if in the area. We camped at Bras D'Or Lakes Campground in a Motorhome.

Gravel interior roads, grass sites. Water pressure was fine. Low voltage meant you had to monitor and manage your power use. (You don't want to run air conditioners if the voltage is much below 110 volts and there were times that one leg was low but the other was adequate.) Good central location on Cape Breton from which to visit the sites on day trips. No cable. A couple of location stations. DirecTV accessible though because the park is so far north, some channels only came in with standard definition. We would stay again. We camped at Bras D'Or Lakes Campground in a Motorhome.

This campground has great wifi. Is neatly kept and provides for a nice stroll down to the waters edge. Frankly, I think the price is a tad high given that we arrived after Labor Day. The sites are not perfectly level and the place had only four units at the time of our visit. It is typical of commercial campgrounds in that it does not have a lot of spacing between sites but there was sufficient room for us to leave the truck on site with trailer attached. The main draw back is the nightly price. They should reduce it then there may be more units spending time there. We camped at Bras D'Or Lakes Campground in a Travel Trailer.

FHU 30 amp site. This campground bills itself as the only campground in the area with a lake view but that is a bit of a stretch as the lake is over 100 yards from any site and few sites have a lake view. We felt that it was overpriced as campgrounds go. WIFI was very good. They advertise cable TV but not all sites have it available and it is an additional $5/day so by the time you've paid the 15% tax here you're up to $50/day even with a Good Sam discount. Additionally, their well was being tested and they had a boil water notice in the office for our entire stay. We doubt we would return. We camped at Bras D'Or Lakes Campground in a Motorhome.
