We called to inquire about reservations for later in the day and was told there were plenty of sites and no information other than our name was required. The young man at checking was friendly and efficient and we had a site with a swipe of the credit card and a map with directions to a FHU pull through that was screened from other campers by the trees. Until driving around in the campground, we had no idea how how larger this place is. Access and interior roads are dirt in good shape. It located back in the woods of a residential/commercial street. The campground appeared to be about 75% full and the WiFi was the best we have encountered in several months. 2 local OTA stations from Halifax came in good. Woodhaven is within reasonable driving distance to downtown Halifax and Peggy's Cove. We would definitely return here should we come this way again. Traffic noise was mostly muted by the trees. We camped at Woodhaven RV Park of Halifax in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Peggy's Cove has many tourist busses pouring in each day. The site remains beautiful and the wave action is amazing on a day with a good breeze. Don't overlook the Fisherman's Memorial across the street from the visitor's center and the Flight 111 Memorial just off Rt 333 in nearby Indian Harbor. Visit the Citadel in Halifax before noon to witness the noon gun. Inquire about parking before going and plan on a bit of walking uphill. Local tours drop off and pickup visitors at the only entrance.

A large very nice park on the outskirts of Halifax. I think the photos on their website are a bit deceptive, especially the one showing the restroom / showers. There are no doors going into the the buildings. Disappointing. We were here during the Labour Day weekend and the placed was pretty much full. We had a fairly level back-in site with trees on either side of us. Our sewer was "up hill" from our camper. Electric (30-AMP) was a bit on the weak side but understandable with the park being full for the holiday weekend. Same with water pressure. All utilities easily accessible. We arrived well before check-in time and the staff were very courteous to us, allowing us to park near the laundry (we we used $2 to wash, $2 to dry, 40 minutes) until our site was available. Very good Wi-Fi. 2 OTA TV channels. Didn't use the pool. Interior gravel roads easy to navigate. We camped at Woodhaven RV Park of Halifax in a Travel Trailer.

Staff very unfriendly, acted like they really didn't want to be bothered. Site was back to back, small trees on each side of us - not quite big enough yet to block other campers, will probably have to be cut back as they grow because of space issues. Hookups were ok - not great. Water pressure low. A lot of "permanent" campers. We would not stay here again. We camped at Woodhaven RV Park of Halifax in a Motorhome.

Eat at The Bicycle Thief in Halifax - so good and right on the waterfront. Walk around the waterfront- a lot to see and do. Visit Halifax Citadel- very interesting fort, with great tour guides inside the fort. Also, visit Peggys Cove, Lunenburg, and definitely Mahone Bay.

Aug 2017 Handy location to Halifax, large park with some secluded sites, near level gravel/dirt pads, picnic table and fire ring. FHU. Toilets/showers could use an upgrade as fairly primitive. Wifi non-existent when park full otherwise fair. 2 TV channels. Staff guide you to site. ours was a back in, back to back site. We camped at Woodhaven RV Park of Halifax in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

First site we were put in had unlevel gravel, narrow space that would not let my main slide out without hitting trees, and then we got a more spacious site that we had to move a couple of times to get level.

Utilities are a problem here. Wifi sucks. Water pressure is inadequate much of the time, electric is fine but primitive with no breakers. Sewers have no threaded connection. The bathrooms are old and decrepit and I wouldn't get in the showers. Round seats on oval toilets. The pool is small for the size of the park and the tiles need a good cleaning.

Best word is adequate with a great location. We camped at Woodhaven RV Park of Halifax in a Motorhome.

So many things to do in Halifax area. Peggy's cove is only 1/2 hour away and the whole coast road: Chester, Mahone Bay and Lunenberg is beautiful to see. Keep going on past if you don't like the crowds!

Vernons diner just up the road serves a good home cooked meal: get there early. Had an excellent meal at Szechuan Chinese Restaurant going in the other direction where there is also an excellent Sobey's for provisioning. (Bedford)

Overall Rating:

Rate of $47.00 includes tax for full hookups, not all sites are full hookups. Entrance to the park is via a long gravel/dirt private drive up to the top of a hill. We have stayed here twice in the last 30 days, 3 nights first stay and 4 nights second stay. Park has, in my opinion, two sections, the older mature section with trees and some privacy and an open section, section/row H. First stay we were in row H, very unlevel, front wheels off the ground and steps very high. Second stay we requested a more level site with a satellite view, were placed in site C-7, much better, liked it. Park has wide single lane gravel roads with all sites having a gravel pad with grass. We did not have any trouble navigating through the park, but could be tight in some areas. Most sites are back to back and not overly long. Width is adequate for slide outs and awning use and still leave room to comfortably be outside. Utilities were at the back of the site and ours worked well, no problem with the water, sewer or electric. Most sites had a picnic table and fire ring. Appears a large percentage of the park is for seasonal campers. Bathrooms/showers are in a cinder block building with a tile floor. The shower stalls are cinder block with curtains. Appeared somewhat clean, however the building is very worn, dingy, in need of some upgrades - not at all appealing. Facility has a decent pool area in front of the office. The owners were very friendly and happily accommodated our requests for our return visit. This is a busy full park during summer weekends. Verizon, Sprint and T Mobile all worked well. Did not try/use park WIFI or over the air antenna. About a 20 - 25 minute drive to downtown Halifax. Note - if you use the parking meters and Parallel Park, make sure your tires are no further than 150 MM (less than 6 inches) from the curb. They will write you a ticket, $25.00. We would return here if in the area. We camped at Woodhaven RV Park of Halifax in a Motorhome.

This is a large campground with lots of caravans coming through, so make reservations in advance. Our site was long enough for our 44 foot rig and towed. The site was FHU 50amp and the electric was stable. Our only issue was the water pressure fluctuated wildly and we had to use the water pump to maintain a good pressure. Our site was separated from both our neighbors by a narrow stand of pines, which provided privacy, but did not interfere with setting up. The site was very level and was easy to get into and out of. All the staff there were extremely friendly and helpful. Our stay was very quiet and the traffic sparse until a caravan came in and then the dust and traffic escalated. We will definitely stay here again on our way home. We camped at Woodhaven RV Park of Halifax in a Motorhome.

There is much to do in Halifax and nearby. Peggy's Cove is a short drive and well worth the visit. Downtown Halifax has a really nice boardwalk and there was a festival going on while we were there. Downtown has many good restaurants, lots of shopping, and some good nightlife

Dated, dusty park. All gravel roads and sites. Good wifi. Electric does not have breaker at site. You have to contact office to reset. Water pressure for the most part is good. At rush time there is only a dribble. No propane on site. Have to travel about 7 miles at an ESSO gas station. We camped at Woodhaven RV Park of Halifax in a Fifth Wheel.

Paid $46 Canadian with tax Don't know the exchange rate. Fantastic! I don't agree with previous reviews. We have 34 ft fifth 5o ft with a truck and had no problems getting large space. Clean friendly owners ready to satisfy and close to everything. A nice sized pool that was warm and clean. Chairs and lounges available to watch kids. Clean, well maintained park. Gravel roads and sites, not level. Sites are long enough for RV and parking tow vehicle, but most sites are back-to-back back-ins. Sites are a little narrow with slides, but bushes and trees between most sites provide privacy and sense of being in the woods. Utilities work well, but no screw outlet for sewer and low water pressure in mornings when everyone uses water. Good WiFi. Trees make satellite reception difficult, some antenna TV channels available. Helpful staff. Nearest park to Halifax, so a good base for sightseeing. We would stay again. Ditto what other campers have stated.

We stayed for a week to visit Halifax. Our site was "downhill" at the front - had to block the tongue jack with a couple of 2x6s so I could level trailer! Trees on either side of site gave some measure of privacy, but we have no slides. Might be a bit tight for those with slides on both sides of their rig.

Wifi was okay most of the time - typical of most c/gs/.

Pool was open but we didn't use it.

We've stayed here before and would stay again if we are ever in the area. We camped at Woodhaven RV Park of Halifax in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed in this campground because it was close to Halifax. The sites are very close together and they put RV's back to back in most of the pull through sites. The campground had very dusty gravel roads due to the lack of rain in the area. The WiFi in the park worked well when we were there. We barely had enough room to put out our slides due to the bushes/trees planted between the sites. We were able to use our satellite to get DirecTV. The park was OK for our stay since we were gone almost every day visiting areas in this part of Nova Scotia. The utilities worked well with our only complaint being low water pressure on the weekends when the park was full. We camped at Woodhaven RV Park of Halifax in a Motorhome.

A large park which is quite hilly causing many (if not most) of the sites to be unlevel - although not terribly so. The water pressure at our site was low at 26 p.s.i. WiFi is strong. The park has both open sites and those which are heavily wooded. We had one of the latter so it we weren't that aware of our neighbors. Like most Canadian RV parks, there are many families although none we close enough for noisy kids to be a bother. Apart from a swimming pool and a playground, this park doesn't have many amenities. Nonetheless it's good for a few nights while visiting Halifax and it is also very nicely situated for a side trip to Peggy's Cove. It's also fairly near to a variety of gas stations (diesel included) and other retail stores. Sites have gravel surfaces, picnic tables and a fire-pit constructed from old truck wheels. Sites were very rocky although we leveled easily. But sitting chairs down was almost impossible and the table was at a downhill slant. Some open spots. Most with shrubbery in between. Ours privacy was so good, we were a bit claustrophobic. We did not use restrooms, but went to look. Not so clean. We would stay again, just be picky about which spot you have. It was a nicely rustic campground. We camped at Woodhaven RV Park of Halifax in a Motorhome.
