We were looking for an overnight stop and the quite friendly fellow in the office had a long convenient pull through in the middle of the loop overlooking the water. I did not have to unhook as the site was level. All hookups were standard and worked well. The is a bit of highway noise from Hwy 4, but it was not objectionable. We would stay here again if in the area. We camped at Linwood Harbour Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Reservations are a good idea unless arriving early as it appears this campground fills each evening and this is a small campground with about 36 sites.

Overall Rating:

This is a very nice little RV park located on a side hill that slopes down to the harbor. We paid $51 Canadian per night for a 50 amp FHU pull thru site with wifi. We were greeted upon arrival and led to the site which had been recently mowed and it also had a nice new picnic table. We had a nice view of the water from our site. One thing we noticed was a worker watering the road to keep the dust down. Something a lot of other parks should do more of. They also seemed to do the mowing when sites were empty. This park was very well run and our stay was very enjoyable here so we gave it higher rating. The wifi did drop a couple of times, but it was mostly very good during our 3 day stay. There is a bit of road noise from nearby 104 at night. The harbor seemed to act somewhat like a megaphone. No OTA TV reception. We camped at Linwood Harbour Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

It is a full day trip up to Cape Breton Highlands NP, but worth the ride. Lots of road work going on in the park this summer. Guysbourgh is a fairly short drive down Rte 16 and is a nice little town on the harbor. We stopped at the Rare Bird Pub for a couple of their beers. They have a nice deck out back that overlooks the harbor which had one of the tall ships in it that had just left Halifax.

Overall Rating:

This a nice campground with long, level, sites that are gravel. The host even provides a wooden step at each of the big rig sites, since they are on a terraced setup, and once your rig is parked most steps do not come close to the ground. They do provide 50 amp, FHU sites, which have been somewhat hard to find in this area. The campground is clean and is serviced by a very friendly staff. Previous reviews have stated there is no way to turn around here, but there is a large area next to the office where you could turn around, and the road next to the big rig sites does curve around back to the main entrance. They also have a second exit out of the campground. We had absolutely no issues coming or going with our 44 foot rig. If I had to offer a suggestion to the owners, I'd suggest a bit more gravel on the entrance road. When we arrived, it had been raining for awhile and I had to run through some mud coming into the facility. Not much mud was kicked up,but enough to cause me to clean off my rims. Otherwise, this has been one of the better places we've stayed in Nova Scotia We camped at Linwood Harbour Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a fairly small park. It is very very clean. Not a lot to do.

Large grassy sites overlooking bay. Would definitely stay again. Good internet. We camped at Linwood Harbour Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The park is a few miles off the main road, but signs are good. It is a wide open area and easy for any size rig to navigate. Staff always on duty, friendly and accommodating. Lovely view of water. Staff was excellent in going out of their way to help us with a problem and we wanted to pay for their trouble but they would not accept. We camped at Linwood Harbour Campground in a Motorhome.

The previous reviews were again pretty accurate. The road from the west is bumpy but from the east it is better. Wi-Fi was strong but didn't lock up a little. It is billed as ocean view but that is a serious stretch. There is a view in the distance of water from the bay. Pull-through sites are mostly level but not the others. Very small park but friendly with decent spacing between sites. Road noise was not a problem as previously stated. Low water pressure was the biggest issue for RVs. We would stay here again. Date of Stay: September, 2013 - $39.00
Overall Rating:

This campground resides on a pretty hill overlooking the water. Access via Highway 4 from either direction is not fun because the road condition is terrible. Once in the park, the roads are decent compacted dirt and gravel with gravel sites. Most of the pull-through sites are fairly level, but others not so much. 50A electrical was strong, but water pressure was weak at 30psi. We did not use the water anyway, because we were advised that it had to be boiled prior to drinking. Fortunately we had enough in our fresh tank to last 2 nights. Site spacing was fairly spacious with a fire pit and picnic table at each. The internet access previously raved about has obviously changed. Although it was good when it worked, it froze several times each day, and we had to ask for it to be reset. After several times doing this, we gave up - no internet. Road noise from the main highway 104 was pretty bad throughout the campground. Staff was very friendly. The laundry room was clean with a big folding table. Bathrooms and showers were very nice and sparkling clean (showers are coin-operated). The nearest grocery store was 16 miles away. Without the water and internet problems, we would stay here again overnight if in the area, but we'd prefer to drive further to find a park with nearby services and attractions. We camped at Linwood Harbour Campground in a Motorhome.

Small campground with clean showers and quiet campers, friendly front desk (barn). Off the beaten path. Our wifi was EXCELLENT. Best we've had on our 3 week trip. Fast. Showers cost $1 for hot water which I didn't run out of. We had to use ramps to level our van (site#12). Near a pretty body of water with a lobster boat moored. We would stop here again. Overall Rating:

We stayed here in a 43' A class with tow. Their pull through sites are very big, probably 60+ x 20'. They have 50/30 full hook ups, no cable and only one over the air channel was clear enough to watch. The sites are spacious, which is uncommon in Nova Scotia where most sites are cramped and share a utility pole. There is a slight side slope which the owners have made an effort to level. There is also some road noise from the very busy 104 which is about 400 yards away. The owner's son registered us and he was very friendly and efficient. Confused by the previous post about the entrance road. The road we came into the campground on was extremely wide and smooth with no tree/overhang problems. There is so much space in front of the office that I could almost do a 360 in my 43' coach. Wi-Fi was strong, telephone signal good. There is a view of Linwood harbor 100 yards away. Our rate reflects 50 amp, 30 amp is $5 less. We came here after being at another campground, which is only 800 yards away, messed up our reservation. They admitted it was their fault and suggested we tried Linwood Harbor. I'm glad they did mess up, because this was a much nicer campground. We camped at Linwood Harbour Campground in a Motorhome.

Fair too poor road in and out (better if you enter next to their sign on the main road and not use dirt side road). At least 8 pull-throughs that would fit our 40' motor home and toad. Campsite was moderately un-level. Trees blocked satellite reception. Sites were good width with 50 amps. Excellent wi-fi. Suited our needs for the night; can't see why I'd stay longer. Overpriced. The sites were unlevel. We wanted 50 amp and I think there is 1 site that is 50 amp. The sites are large enough for big rigs but the turns to get out were very close. There were no amenities. There is another campground nearby I would check out if I needed to stay here again. We camped at Linwood Harbour Campground in a Motorhome.

We needed a place to stay for the night and picked this one because it was close by. The campground is on a side slope down to a small bay or inlet, with terraced sites. Road in and out was very steep and potholed. Our site needed all of the blocks we had to get level. There are virtually no amenities at the campground, and the fees seemed overpriced for what you get. The office is in a garage bay in a barn that contains the restrooms. Sites are mostly open with a few in the shade; some seasonals but mostly transients. When we were about to leave, we asked where the dump station was. There is NO dump station in this campground. When we asked if we could dump in the sewer outlet on our site (we only took water and electric services), the answer was no; we could pay an additional $5 for one day of three way service if we wanted to dump at the campground. We would not stay at this place again, and can't recommend it to others. We camped at Linwood Harbour Campground in a Motorhome.
