This is one of the best campgrounds we have ever stayed in. Nice views of the area. Well maintained grassy sites with good utilities and excellent Wifi. Sights were a little close but not uncomfortable. There is plenty of room for big rigs. Showers were clean and well maintained as was the washing machine area. Very convenient to the Newfoundland ferry. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed here in a motorhome and would stay here again. We camped at Arm of Gold Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

This park is convenient to the Cabot Trail, Louisbourg, Baddeck, and The Sydney Miners Museum. The Alexander Bell Museum in Baddeck is a wonderful place to visit. The Sydney Miners Museum was very interesting and worth the 20 minute ride. We also really enjoyed Louisbourg and the Cabot Trail as well. These are all "don't miss" things to see.

Lovely, picturesque grassy campground on the banks of Little Bras D'Or Lake. This is an exceptionally well maintained and attractive campground in every sense of the word that has everything you need including a food truck. It is perfect for staging a ferry trip to Newfoundland as the ferry is only 4 km away. Stayed here twice - on way over and then as a respite on our way back. There is no privacy here but the sites are open and spacious, some a bit closer, in a very attractive setting. Electric, water and sewer as advertised. WiFi was spotty. Over the air TV stations available. Laundry facility is more than adequate and one of the best we've used. Also includes an information center for the local area and beyond with a well stocked lending library and DVD's. They also have a beautifully groomed and well maintained walking path that is just gorgeous for an evening walk. Be sure to make a reservation as this is a popular spot for caravans of campers. The only negative is Hwy 105 noise during the day but gets much quieter at night and was not an issue. We would definitely stay here again to explore the area, visit Cabot Island and to catch the ferry to Newfoundland. We camped at Arm of Gold Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Winnie's Wagon Food Truck is hit or miss. Fish and Chips was a disappointment - very small portion of fish with old limp, greasy fries that we threw out. Must have been a bad day as supposedly their fries are good. However, the Chicken Wrap was excellent. Would give them the benefit of the doubt and try again. Jane's Restaurant - the BEST home cooking in the area! Very satisfying meals. They also do a brisk Pizza business - looked good.

Good Wi-Fi with friendly check-in. Lots of info about activities in the area. We had a long, 30 amp, pull through site with easily accessible utilities. Site was slightly off-level but nothing levelers couldn't adequately handle. Good site separation. Main demerit was constant traffic noise from nearby highway 105. Our second site, after storing the coach with them for 4 days, was a 50 amp pull through with no traffic noise but very close neighbors. Neither site had a on/off breaker for the electric which should have been there. We camped at Arm of Gold Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Nice campground near ferry to Newfoundland. Close to city for shopping etc. Full hookup pull through 30 and a few 50 amp grass sites. Wifi weak at sites but good at office. Cell service good and a couple of local TV stations. Beautiful views of bays. Would stay here again. We camped at Arm of Gold Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here two times, about 10 days apart. The first was for two nights before we loaded on the ferry from NS to Newfoundland. The second was when we got off the ferry. It's a great spot for that purpose, and really a good place to stay if you are exploring the area around Sydney. The park sits on a hill overlooking Little Bras 'd Or lake. All utilities worked fine, roads are gravel but in good shape. Lots are grass. There were several large tour groups, which I think is common during the summer. We camped at Arm of Gold Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

We arrived at Arm of Gold off the ferry after a wonderful month in Newfoundland for a couple of nights to restock before moving on. First point loss was for not accepting Mastercard. It is 2016. Who does not take Mastercard?? Wi-Fi was iffy at best. Hate to think what is when the campground is anything more than the 25% full, as it was during our stay. Worse, I suspect it was turned off after 10:00PM each night. Gave up trying for access. For the money I'd expect to have a fire ring but no, none available.

What it has is location. Minutes from the ferry. The grounds are very well kept. The very special gem every Tuesday evening is the picking in the barn by local musicians. These guys are not professionals but it is a nice unique touch that the place has. We camped at Arm of Gold Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed at his park in our 38 ft fifth wheel for one night prior to taking the ferry over to Newfoundland. The full service site was level and long enough we did not have to unhook. The roads are big rig friendly. The owner and staff were very pleasant and helpful. We would definitely stat here again. We camped at Arm of Gold Campground & RV Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Well maintained, clean park. Facilities were spotless. Laundry facilities were reasonably priced and machines did a great job. Sites are in an open field and every site was a drive-through. Plenty of room to negotiate into the site. Reasonably spaced with a picnic table. Easy access to the Trans-Canada Highway and 5 minutes away from the ferry to Newfoundland. Would recommend this park and will certainly stay here again on our way to and from Newfoundland. We camped at Arm of Gold Campground & RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed here for 3 nights before our ferry trip to Newfoundland. Level and grassy sites, the wifi was adequate, the utilities strong, only antenna tv, if you can pick anything up. There is a nice little library area, with books to trade, the bathhouse is very clean, as is the laundry. There is a wonderful view across the Little Bras d'Or, The park was only about 1/3 full this time of the year, but it could have a different feel during the busy season, July and August. The staff was very helpful and efficient. Nice walk along the lake for the pup and to stretch your legs. All in all a nice place, and we will stay here again. Tips for other Campers:

This CG is very convenient to NL Ferry, just about 4 km away. It would be a day trip for the Cabot Trail and for the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site. There are 2 groceries plus a Walmart about 15 minutes away. We tried the little food truck that was on the premises, we tried the fish n chips and a cheeseburger, both were pretty good for a quick dinner. The french fries were to die for.

Arm of Gold is the closest RV campground to the Newfoundland Ferry. We stopped here for one night after the 6 hour ferry ride back to Nova Scotia. Park has multiple size sites, mostly grass, with some more level than others. It could be tight around rigs, if the park was full. Plenty of room to maneuver a big rig. The grounds are clean and the park appears well-managed. We did not use any of their facilities. Wifi was good. This late in September, there weren't many other campers. Since this is a caravan-stop park, you'll want reservations during the summer season. We camped at Arm of Gold Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

The rate was for 50 Amp service. We stayed one night for our ferry reservation to Port aux Basques, Newfoundland, the next morning. We had the best site in the whole park, overlooking water with hills in the background on two sides, the church in Little Bras d'Or across the water and nothing between us and the scenery. Without a doubt, one of the prettiest settings we've ever had in a campground. Not everyone had sites this nice. Maybe that is why the price was so high. Maybe it is just because they are close to the ferry landing. Anyway, that is a price we seldom see in RV Parks.

My only complaint was that the grass had recently been cut and the clippings were thick on the top of the grass. It rained and there was no way to walk around the campsite without picking up a load of wet grass clippings on shoes. We had to wash our shoes off each time before entering the coach. It would be a great service to customers to bag the grass clippings in the camping sites at least. This is a rainy area so this can't be an unusual condition. We camped at Arm of Gold Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We've stayed in this park before and there are many things to do and see in the area including a coal mining museum that has a sample mine for touring. Coal mines in the area extended up to seven miles out under the seabed. In fact, I talked with a miner on the ferry to Newfoundland the next day. The site where Marconi transmitted the first wireless signal across the Atlantic Ocean to Great Britain is also near here. Alexander Graham Bell museum is another site not too far away.

Wonderful location for ferry to NFL and scenery. Friendly and helpful staff. Well suited for motorhomes. Kind of pricey. Shower charge. Insects bad on sites nearest water. Very few trees - just made the campground seem very utilitarian. We camped at Arm of Gold Campground & RV Park in a Motorhome.

Rate shown is for a 30 amp site (taxes included). Our site was a fairly level grass pull-through. A table was included as well. Efficient and friendly staff who work fast to get you a site even when there is a long lineup just off the Newfoundland ferry. No cable TV, but found 3 channels off the antenna. Wi-Fi was hit and miss as it was slow and got bumped off the internet too many times to count. Nice views of the surrounding waters. Winnies Wagon next door serves fish n' chips, hamburgers, etc. We have stayed at this campground several times before in the past and will continue to stay here if in the area.
