This campground worked well as a two-day stay to give us a bit of a break from driving cross-country. There was plenty of room in the large parking lot shared between the Sauder Heritage Inn and Sauder Village complex to park a big RV and check in at the hotel. Entrance to the campground is across a small bridge located at the back of the parking lot. The roads accessing the two campground sections are paved and very comfortably wide. We were not able to easily sign onto the campground WiFi, so just used our own Verizon service, which worked fine. There is a gravel path around the "Little Lake Erie" pond, and another straight walking path into town. A number of campers, both young and old, were making use of these paths for walking, jogging, biking and dog walking. We camped at Sauder Village Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We enjoyed spending our extra day at the historic Sauder Village. Many costumed characters demonstrate crafts such as spinning, weaving, basket-making, blacksmithing, etc. We especially enjoyed watching a crew of horses and men plowing a field to get it ready for planting. The Rails to Trails Wabash Cannonball Trail is nearby.

We stayed overnight in a back in site. Check in at the hotel and park in the lot for RV's. We we disappointed to find out that the pull thrus did not have water or sewer, just electric. Not sure why they put us in the older part of the campground as there are many other sites that would have given us more room for our tow car. We had to use the water on the passenger side of the rig instead of the drivers side. Lots of walking trails over to the cute little lake. We had a great dinner at the Barn restaurant and cinnamon rolls in the morning at the drive thru bakery! We had to leave before the Sauder Village opened but it looked like it would be a treat to visit. We camped at Sauder Village Campground in a Motorhome.

The park is very clean and the site we had was level. Had 50 amp, water, and sewer which all was good. Check in is at hotel registration. If you stay at campground you get the use of the hotel pool. Nice place to eat on site, The Barn, good food. Only down side was they use one water supply for two camp sites. We needed the extra hose to reach, other then that it was good. We camped at Sauder Village Campground in a Motorhome.

We only had a 1-night stay here at an electric-only pull-through site, and left wishing we stayed longer. Very nice campground with open feel to it, as sites were reasonably spaced apart. Wide paved roads, easy turns, and fairly level gravel sites. There are 2 lanes of water tank filling stations easily accessed on way in, after you check in at the front desk of hotel. (No worries, huge parking lot out front erased any maneuvering concerns.) Easy maneuvering at dump station also. As with almost every other campground, their WiFi was too overloaded to use, but Verizon signal was strong. Very nice bathroom/shower facility. All grounds and buildings clean and well-maintained. Placement of water supply in some sites we saw was fairly odd, not always convenient. Don't think we saw any seasonal campers here, nice for a change. We camped at Sauder Village Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed two nights and toured the village one day. Very nice campground with clean bathrooms/showers. The firewood and ice are on the honor system. The only complaint is the lack of cable TV. They have sketchy Wi-Fi, but think they should have put cable in when they did the new campsites. The village is a really neat experience if you don't try to rush it. We liked it so much we are headed back in two weeks to finish the village and pay more time and attention in the areas we felt we rushed thru. We camped at Sauder Village Campground in a Motorhome.

Senior discount for one night stay. Our site was a pull through, gravel, 50 amp, electric only site. The site was gently sloped, but we did not have to use blocks; other sites did have to block. We had good Verizon cell/internet reception and good DishTV reception. The park is an easy 4-mile drive from the Ohio Turnpike. The park was quiet at night. We would stay here again. We camped at Sauder Village Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The Barn restaurant was a good place to eat and the bakery was good for breakfast if needed. Sauder Village is a bit expensive, but a great history lesson for the kids (we spent an entire day going through the village). They also have local craftsman in the village which you can visit without paying for admission to the rest of the experience.

Park has expanded since our last visit, and has good water supply, sewer, and 20/30/50 amp service on many more sites. The walking paths are good as well as the trail around the lake. We camped at Sauder Village Campground in a Motorhome.

We selected a pull through with electric, no water, no sewer since they said that the back in FHU sites were not long enough. Many of the back in sites look plenty long enough for our 60' length hooked up. The site was gravel and fairly level. Trees are growing and will provide more shade in future, newer sites are in the direct sun. We didn't make use of the pool and hot tub in the hotel, which are available to campers. We camped at Sauder Village Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

The campground is right on the Sauder Village property so everything is within walking distance. Clean, level, large full hookup site. Easy in and out. Has a wonderful walking trail which is also great for bikes. We enjoyed our time there and will return. We camped at Sauder Village Campground in a Motorhome.

We have camped here a few times and it just keeps getting better. This time we camped for an entire week. They are expanding the CG to include many more full hookup sites. A new splash area is open for kids. My grandsons loved it! Our kids stayed at the Heritage Inn hotel (on the grounds) for the weekend and were impressed with the facility. You can get a packaged deal that includes camping, touring the historic village, and dining at the Barn. There is a playground for kids, an awesome pool and whirlpool, a small lake for fishing, a Sauder furniture outlet store, the village, an onsite bakery, and a gift shop. This campground is quiet and relaxing but has SO much going for it. I will be back! We camped at Sauder Village Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Archbold has an excellent town diner where nostalgic old time gas station, soda pop, and barber shop signs cover the walls bringing back memories. Oh, and if you want to take a mini trip, drive 90 minutes to the RV Hall of Fame in Elkhart, IN. On your way back to Sauder Village, stop in Middlebury, IN for a great dinner at Dos Dutchman Essenhaus Amish restaurant!

We stopped here for an overnight stay and ended up staying for several nights. Very easy to enter and exit the campground with a bigger rig, long and level spots, access to the hotel pool and a very affordable continental breakfast. We got the camper package special and took the kids to see Sauder Village, which was very well-planned and laid out and perfect for school-age kids. We camped at Sauder Village Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

We had two totally different experiences. During the week, CG is nice, quiet, great area and the historic village is a nice treat. BUT the week-end this turned into a bad state park. No apparent rules, multiple vehicles at sites, several tents on one site, kids racing through park on bikes, 6 to 15 people on a single site, drivers doing 25 - 30mph, and of course everyone with a smudge pot. On the plus side, even with all these issues, the park is still relatively quiet. Would only return during the week but never on a week-end. We camped at Sauder Village Campground in a Motorhome.

Nice park and very clean. Shade is limited but there will be in a few more years. There are a few sites that are shaded. It is very quite during the week. To bad there is not a general store in this facility. It has the historical village, restaurant, and bakery but is missing a general store that is walkable. Stayed here for 3 days. The waterfront is for tents only and mostly occupied with ducks and geese. We camped at Sauder Village Campground in a Motorhome.
