The park was very crowded during our visit, but it was a Friday night and they had special activities planned that drew a large number of campers. This park is spacious and clean, with easy access. As with all KOA's, the price is somewhat expensive (even with my KOA membership), but you get what you pay for. The facilities are very nice, with lots of things to do (especially if you have small children). Both the Wifi and TV service were good. Our site was basically level but could have used some more gravel (mud). Unfortunately, we had some loud neighbors that were partying until nearly midnight - it would have been nice if someone from the park's office had monitored this and asked them to tone it down, but no one did. The park's location is near the interstate. We camped at Dayton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

50 amp, fire ring, patio w/table, gravel site, paved roads, kind of tight, not all sites are level, great landscaping, good maintenance, Dish satellite iffy due to trees, good digital air, cable ($), free Wifi (slow & unreliable), best park we've been in (heated pool, mini-golf, nice playground, pavillion w/weekend movies, fishing pond w/boats ($), bikes ($), outdoor kitchen, gazebos w/nice plantings around them, cafe, hiking trails, horse shoes), but noise from hwy and airport We camped at Dayton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

This is an older KOA with narrow roads and tight maneuvering for Big Rigs. The sites are close together and getting around parked vehicles is an issue (we observed a collision of a 5th wheel and a parked car). Appears to be lots of sponsored activities for kids. The WiFi was poor and I did have to ask another camper to move their car so we could exit. We camped at Dayton KOA in a Motorhome.

All of the good comments about the park are true but they are diminished, in my case, by the scam of a $5 fee for early check in because it is their `policy'. That would not be so bad but I cannot find where that policy is stated either in their literature or online The way I found out about it was when we were standing at the front desk paying the balance of our reservation and the Clerk said the fee applied. BTW it's $5 per early hour! We stay at lots of KOA's and this is the first time it has ever raised its ugly head. We camped at Dayton KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Nice KOA with lots of activities for children. The restrooms and laundry facilities were excellent. The primary issue we had was the slope of the site. Our site had a significant grade front to rear. We needed inch rise for the rear wheels. Our sewer hose had to run up hill to the connection. We have a slinky sewer support for 15 feet but that was insufficient. We used plastic containers to provide additional height. When it rained, the downhill flow through our site was so strong it washed the containers out from under the sewer hose. We camped at Dayton KOA in a Motorhome.

The roads are narrow! We hit a tree and damaged the edge of our travel trailer on the way in trying to avoid someone who was parked too close to the road. Trying to get into our site was difficult. It was angled, and we parked on an uneven part of the site at the suggestion of our park guide so that our slide could open without hitting either the electrical post or going into our neighbor's site. As a result, we weren't able to completely level the trailer. The sewer hookup was approximately two feet from our neighbor's fire pit. Our fire pit was on a small flat space on top of a small hill. It would have been very easy to fall or twist an ankle in the dark. Our patio pad was on a raised cement block. It would have been easy to trip on it going up or twisting an ankle coming down in the dark. The men's restroom was pretty dirty before the morning cleaning. There was wet toilet paper hanging from the inside handicap bar and the trash bin was overflowing. On other visits, it was clean. On the positive side, there were lots of activities offered. We didn't avail ourselves because we stayed only one night. The park had beautiful, mature shade trees and was well-maintained and clean. The staff all were nice. I uploaded two photos that show everything that I've described - we were in the middle of the three spaces. You can see the how close together these sites were, the incline where the fire pit was with only a small area that was flat, as well as the raised concrete patio. The second photo shows how close the sewer hookup was to the fire pit in the site on the right. We camped at Dayton KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful and well maintained, except, I-70 is immediately adjacent and very loud and the water supply is the worst we have every encountered. The public water is yellow colored and metallic tasting. Our filters would not take it out. OK to shower, flush and wash dishes, but purchased water for drinking. Otherwise the management and employees do a nice job maintaining the campground. We camped at Dayton KOA in a Motorhome.

This is an absolutely beautiful park and also a perfect example of why we try to avoid KOA while on the road. The amenities are excellent, with every possible activity and recreation you could possibly ask for, including: full hook-ups, pull-thrus, patios, propane, fenced pet area, camping kitchen, cafe, hiking trails, pool, gem mine, playground, mini golf and fishing lakes. They even bake pizza on site and deliver it to your camper. But, $55 is just too much for someone (like us) who is traveling through the area and all we want is to pull in, hook up and go to bed. The campground is meticulously maintained and staff was extremely helpful and friendly. All hook-ups, including cable and wi-fi worked well. We camped at Dayton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall a good trip. We stayed in a pull thru site but with the poor placement of landscaping combined with sites not big enough for rvs and tow vehicles (the row in front of our site was blocked by the neighbors tow vehicle when leaving) Not a huge deal to back out but that defeats the idea of a pull thru to begin with. It was the closest sites of any camp ground I've been to. If you have slide outs I highly suggest you watch where you put stage your camper based on the fire pits. Luckily I noticed the placement before we unhooked, if not our rear slide would have almost been overtop of the fire pit, but we were able to back up. I couldn't however help how close the neighbors fire pit was to our camper. Plenty of family friendly activities to do there but per usual, all cost you a few bucks. There's a train ride, hay ride and putt putt golf, for the price you pay for the sites I may have felt differently about my stay if these activities were included in the reservation price. We camped at Dayton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Our site was level. Power and water were good. Dump was conveniently located. We were on gravel, but we had a picnic table on a concrete slab. There is a very nicely done fire ring. The general facility was excellent and nicely maintained. But our big attraction was their WiFi which was as good as we have ever had available at a commercial campground. We quite like this campground and will return. It is reasonably close to the Museum of the Air Force and Huffman Prairie, the first airport in the world. We camped at Dayton KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Be sure to visit the Air Force Museum. If you're limited on time, cruise through the first buildings on the beginning of flight, WWI, WWII, etc. as the last and farthest away exhibit has space capsules and rockets and then the presidential planes to walk through.

Beautiful park with many amenities for families. Land is rolling with mature trees and impeccable landscaping; truly a relaxing atmosphere. All staff were attentive and friendly. Our only negative comment is that the PT sites were close together, and it was a bit tight to maneuver through the roads (we have a 45' with tow). Sites are gravel and in good condition, no patio. We would definitely stay here again if traveling to the Dayton area. We camped at Dayton KOA in a Motorhome.

This is another hard park to rate. Our first impression was good, as it is a very pretty park located in the trees. The staff were helpful and we got an escort to our site, always a good thing. The roads and trees and sites are all very close though. We noticed several people having difficulty getting into their sites without driving into other nearby sites (some of which had vehicles in the way). We would probably not come here again because of the closeness. Verizon service was strong. It seemed rather expensive for what you got. There was an upcharge for 50 amps. Excellent park. 1/2 star off for ease of parking, sites were really tight. We had to pull through an empty spot in front of our site to get out. We were praying no one parked in there overnight, we would have been stuck in our site until someone moved. 1/2 star off for cafe burgers and fries..... Had to wait 45 mins, they forgot to cook our order. The park is clean, bathhouse clean, pool clean, grounds immaculate. A bit pricey. We camped at Dayton KOA in a Fifth Wheel.
