16 Parks near Conover, Ohio
Aug 2016 - $23.00
There are only 10 hookup sites, all pull through. All have 50 amp, no water, no sewer available. They fill up quick in the summer months so you need to reserve as soon as you know you are coming.
Lake is within walking distance at about 150 yards but there are lots of lily pads along the east shore. Limited ranger patrol as this is a small lake and they work out of Springfield. The local Game Warden does patrol as well. Now the Watercraft division is seen pretty regular.
Pit toilets only no showers. Dump station with potable water is available.
Good clean power.
Fishing is popular but can be tough fishing, large strippers have been caught here. Osprey are often seen diving for fish along with lots of deer and Blue Heron.
There are no motors: electric or gas allowed on the lake. It is a nice scenic lake to canoe, kayak or take a row boat out on, along with sail boats. Boats are available for rent at the marina and bait store. Lake is 2.5 miles long. You can leisurely kayak around the shore in about 3 hours. - knightab
Sep 2014 - $22.00
Super nice campground, so quiet. Only has ten electric sites. In off season not many of the non electric were full. I really liked that the campground was on the water and that the lake was a no motor boat lake. Helped contribute to the quiet. All bathrooms were pit toilets, no shower facilities. Very nice for a few days visit. - naner
Jul 2010 - $18.00
We stayed here with two grandsons over the 4th of July weekend. We camped in a large site on the lake so that my husband and the kids could fish, and for the view of the lake. The lake front sites are across the main road from the rest of the campground. None of them have hook-ups of any kind. Everyone just parks their campers in the grass in that area. We took a couple walks through the main area of the campground. The sites on that side were mostly shady, but most were very small. It was a holiday weekend, so the park was full and crowded. Only 10 of the sites have electricity. There is no running water at the campground, only a continuous flow of water from an Artesian well located near the marina. Bathrooms are pit toilets, and in the heat of summer they were utterly disgusting. The smell and the flies kept us out of them, and we used our Luggable Loo inside our shower tent. We also brought along a solar shower since there are no showers at the park. This lake has a no motor policy, and attracts many fishermen. We rented a small human-powered fishing boat, and were able to keep it at our campsite for the weekend. There were park personnel conducting many activities for the kids throughout the weekend. There were also movies available for them in the evenings. All the staff was very friendly and helpful. This campground seems to attract a more rowdy crowd than we normally enjoy camping with. People were just running through and actually coming to our campsite to fish. There is no privacy. I realize that it was a holiday weekend, but I had the impression that this is the way it is at this park. I don't think we'll go back. - Scotswife
Jun 2016 - $25.00
This park is only a few miles from the highway, but as stated you feel like you are out in the country. There are back-in sites around the edges of the large, grassy well mowed campground with a curved slightly sloping layout. There is a section of pull-through sites that are laid out on slight slope. The sites are well kept, but full hookups are only available on a small number of sites. The positive side was the bathrooms are air conditioned, almost too cold in fact, but they needed the floor painted and spruced up. Hubby said his shower floor was bare concrete, not spic and span but the toilets and sink were clean. This was a nice one night stop on our way home. - Maga04
May 2016 - $21.00
Had a wonderful time, this camp was awesome. The people were great. Very friendly staff and very beautiful campground. Had fun at their huge Flea Market. Got a few very nice items. I would highly recommend, we will visit this campground again. - Jack Mac Innes
Sep 2015 - $30.00
Pretty basic, clean quiet. The thing that put this over the top was the fantastic service on our RV. We did a complete 10,000 mile checkup and they took care of some electrical issues. I was a little concerned since we were off the beaten path sort of. But the knowledge of the mechanics and willingness to explain what they were doing made me feel very comfortable with their work. I would stay here again. The park was very spacious and getting around was very easy you really had a feeling you were out in the country and not squeezed into some tight spaces. - David Thrasher
Sep 2013 - $42.00
The current part owners have owned it for two seasons. They are very nice and helpful and are working hard for improvements. They have a very nice beach and water slide area to a lake. We were there for a sporting event in a nearby town and it was pretty quiet that weekend. The set up would be really great for a group especially in their "Meadow" area. The Meadow did not have sewer and they did charge to use the dump station on the way out. Overall if we were in that area we would stay there again. It was pretty far off the beaten track but as said earlier it would be a great trip for a group. The rest were clean but old. - Novi MI
Aug 2012 - $14.00
This campground is at the end of approximately a one mile narrow gravel road choked with trees. The trees raked the sides of the motorhome continuously. The campground, while appearing spacious and with the grass trimmed, was populated predominantly with very old and inoperative rigs. The office was not marked and could not be identified. Since not a single person could be located, we did not stay. The roads in the campground could not accommodate a 36ft motorhome with toad. I was forced to unhitch the toad in order to exit the park. Since we did not stay we cannot rate the facilities. However, the difficulty driving the park's roads and the damage to the RV from the trees garners an unsuitable rating for nearly any size RV. Cutting down numerous trees on the entrance road and those trees obstructing the park roads would raise the park to an "acceptable" rating. Amazingly the park is a Passport America park. - rjohnso3a
Aug 2012 - $30.00
Very clean quiet rural park. Grassy and spacious full hookup sites (water, sewer, 30amp & electric) with good mix of shade trees and open sites. Cellular signal was Ok (e.g., Verizon). Staff was friendly and helpful. Unfortunately no discounts for club memberships. Fairly large number of seasonals. However, all long-term units seem to be well maintained with clean sites and grass nicely trimmed. We would stay again with lack of camping club discounts being the only major negative. - rjohnso3a
Jun 2012 - $36.00
The Park is well managed. They are very friendly and always willing to assist in any way possible. Park could use some improvements and site leveling, but is well maintained otherwise. We would stay here again when in the area. Management has plans for improvements. - Mem503
Aug 2007 - $20.00
This is an older park with new owners who over and above will to try to serve you. The restrooms were spotless. Lots of seasonal campers with kids but they seemed to be well behaved. Noise was not a problem. This would be a nice campground for a family. - dfriesner
Aug 2016 - $10.00
Clean very level back in sites set up for trailers and not MHs. May have to disconnect if over 22 ft. plus truck No amenities but a good basic stop over with H2O, elect, and sewer. Anyone can stop for a nite for the tour. NO LONG TERM PARKING. Now the big problem! THERE IS NO CELL PHONE SERVICE HERE! Period! No cell phone company works. Airstream does have an internet that they will give you the passwords. We payed the $10 as we just wanted to see the tour and stay the night but when we found out the phone problem we had to leave ( I had a late night phone conference that night) The tour is very interesting and maybe a must see if you are anyway interested in Airstreams. - Cliffy
Oct 2014 - $10.00
The Airstream Terraport is where you can camp while having service done on your Airstream at the factory. The Terraport is also available for camping if you are passing through, or taking the factory tour. It's nothing fancy, 30/50 Amp, water, sewer and Wi-Fi. No restroom or showers. They also fill propane tanks. And it's only $10 a night if you are not having service done. - damonbeals
Sep 2011 - $30.00
We stayed here in a brand new Bounder. Staff was very nice. Campers were very friendly. Fantastic fenced double dog run. Lovely setting. Shaded spots. Some traffic noise but we didn't hear it inside our RV. - Cherie in Ohio
Sep 2010 - $25.00
This campground is truly a dump. Interior roads are gravel and full of pot holes making them unsafe for driving. Broken down motorhomes everywhere. The office is on top of a hill very difficult walk. Once there your met by a pit bull. The whole place is very scary looking. We couldn't get out of there fast enough. - derbycatz
Sep 2013 - $35.00
Read the earlier reviews. Very high noise level, particularly the trains. Small roads with tight turns for anything over 36ft. Hookups on wrong end of pad. Low water pressure, and you have to share that with your neighbor. Had to drive across grass to reach our site. Run down permanent sites with unfriendly occupants. Park exit is very narrow, and trees badly scratched the side of my coach. I would not recommend this for even an overnight stop. - Westside
Jun 2013 - $30.00
I'm glad I visited this campground before reading the reviews, otherwise I wouldn't have camped there. Maybe they've done some renovating in the months or years since most of these reviews were written, or maybe I'm just not picky. Admittedly, my wife and I weren't swept off our feet by the luxury and vast amenities, but we've stayed in worse and paid more for them. We full time so we visit a lot of campgrounds, and I feel Enon Beach Campground doesn't deserve the bad rap it has. While the showers and bathrooms are certainly dated, you get level (mostly paved), shades sites with full hookups and plenty of space compared to other places we've been. There are a lot of full time residents there and the "RV Graveyard" does take away from the coziness a little, but the two weeks we spent there we had no problems with anyone carrying on or making noise, and found all of the folks we interacted with to be very nice people who would do anything to help you before they even met you. The staff was friendly, and they have an entire section of the beach for dogs to go swim in the water separate from the roped off swimming area. There was also a fishing pier and a dock with some paddle boats that can be rented for $2 per half hour. We certainly got used to the trains and the hum of the interstate after a day or two, and honestly didn't notice it after a while unless we were sitting outside. We would definitely stay here again and plan on it in the near future. - The Bells 412
Jun 2013 - $35.00
A transportation junkies dream! Railroad tracks right outside the park, and I-70 100 yards away. Frontage road and a highway on the other sides! Noisy? This place defines noisy. Also motorcycles and ATV's. Lots of permanent sites, older rigs - thought we were getting into a "Deliverance" campground! Big sign at the gate "No Guard Dogs". A pit bull tied to a golf cart passed us almost immediately. Something good to say? A great spot to watch Norfolk Southern trains and count the semis on I-70. We will not stay here again. - renodick
Aug 2016 - $13.00
A wonderful value with Passport America rates. We stayed three nights. Great level sites. 30 amp electric only. Very quiet stay. - W Davidson
Apr 2016 - $14.00
We stayed one night & this was a welcome break from the places by the interstate where you hear cars all night. A beautiful state park well cared for & plenty of green & space betwen sites. Lots of hiking & nice quiet roads for biking. There is a lake and marina and a campers beach. Regular season starts May 1 & until then it is walk up only. You self register after you pick pit your site. They give a 50%pa discount Mon thru Thurs. Ohio veterens stay free. A really nice park where I would have gladly stayed longer but we are on our way home! I checked out laundry and bathroom and they were basic and not too bad, though it did not look like they were being cleaned daily. Potable water at the dump station on the way in...sites are electric only. - chasing60
Sep 2015 - $29.00
Maybe because it is so close to our house, but I see nothing extraordinary about this park. It's a nice park and is kept well manicured; the sites are average for us anyway; not real close to each other but not what we would consider large or particularity isolated. The pad surfaces are blacktop and fairly level. The roads leading into the campground are blacktop and in good condition. Some sites are shaded some are not. Some have lake-views some do not. One loop does not have electric; all others have electric but no water or sewer. Like I said, its a nice campground and you will not be disappointed. - campdaddy
Aug 2016 - $26.00
My rating is based on midweek when only about one in twenty sites was taken. On the weekend it wasn't as tranquil. The campground is part of a large park that goes for miles along the lake. There are paved trails all through the area, playgrounds, volleyball, basketball, boat launches: but it's spread out.
There's also a network of more rustic trails for biking or hiking, flat. If you like to fish or kayak: you could do that. The lawns were lush and green for us, but word is it was parched brown a couple weeks ago. I loved it here.
Oh, no water at the site. Come with enough for your stay as there is just one tap at the entry. - Darleen
Jul 2016 - $26.00
We stayed here as a stop before attending a music festival in the area, to dump and fill our tanks and spend a relaxing night. We were not disappointed. Our site backed up to a small channel off the main lake and was very deep. As the weather was hot and humid it was great to have 50 amp without running the generator.
This is on our must visit list to spend more than 1 night. There was a large group in the interior of the loop, all having a good time, but not in anyway infringing on anyone else's fun. We walked around part of the lake and enjoyed the wildlife. The staff all were very friendly. - htowners
Aug 2015 - $27.00
This was our maiden voyage camping in a travel trailer, and it could not have been any better of an experience. The park was very clean, and had shaded sites, a nice playground, trails, bike rentals, and a camp store. The restrooms and showers were clean, and there was even a place to do your laundry. Everyone from the staff to other campers were very friendly and helpful. It was quiet and peaceful at night, and they had movie night for the little ones. We will definitely be back, for a longer stay. - 26River
