Love the layout of this campground--four loops, each with bathhouse (and laundry) in center (with fresh water spigot outside), and five spokes coming off the center for campsites, each ending in a loop so that it is easy to drive around (with fresh water spigot in center of each of those loops). The layout allows for most sites to be very spacious and many with decent privacy from neighbors. Camp loop roads and sites asphalt. Mostly level. Easy to navigate. Sites range from full sun to full shade and everything in between. Grounds are very well kept. Verizon on slow side. Picked up good over-the-air TV signal (got all the major networks). We camped at Delaware State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Price reflects Sun/weeknight rate. Add $1 for weekend/holiday nights. There is a Walmart, as well as many other stores and restaurants, in Delaware, less than 10 miles south of the park. Columbus is just 20 miles south.

We stayed in site 176. It was a very large site - approx 100 ft X 100ft. The pad was level and quite long. A nice large fire ring with a swinging grill grate was included! Not a lot of shade in the site but it wasn't horrible. The shower house was older but clean. Sure there were bugs, but you are camping! Fresh water was available in the branch we were staying in as well as near the office at check in. No water at each site. Had electric hook up. The post had plugs for all types of amps. Dump station was clean and at least 2 vehicles could use it at a time. Firewood was available for purchase at the office for $5 a bundle. The sites were rather private and the park was very quiet. Lots of hiking trails too! We camped at Delaware State Park in a Travel Trailer.

A nice older park. It is a long drive from the main highway to the campground. Site was in a cul-de-sac with very little traffic. Park staff is to be commended. A severe storm had rolled through a week earlier and there were many large trees downed. Also lots of fallen limbs at many sites. Most of the downed trees had been removed and the limbs had been cleared from the sites. The only negative issue was with the dumpsters; they were in overflow mode while we were there. We camped at Delaware State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

Older campground but well maintained and clean. Lots of sites, mostly shaded, but quite full on the weekends. No hose bib for potable water in our loop, so had to return to the check station to find a water point. College students running the gate could have been much more forthcoming with information. I felt they were a bit lackadaisical with their procedures and could use some adult supervision. We camped at Delaware State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Picnic sites and shelters, older play grounds, marina, beach for lake swimming. Four camping loops with about 40 sites each. Close to Columbus. Made a day trip to Dayton and Wright Patterson AFB to see the museum. Well worth the hour drive and a great rainy day activity.

Overall Rating:

We were looking for a place to stay in the general area open in early April to break up a long drive. We're self contained and don't use the facilities. This is a very nice campground. The 'pod' layout created generally large campsites, some shaded, others in full sun, some private, others within site of others. Most were level with a paved parking pad. Our pod had electric only sites and a bath house. There's water and a dump station near the park entrance. Rates are $28 per night with 50% off for Passport America. There's no wifi. Verizon and ATT coverage was ok. The park is self service early in the season. We camped at Delaware State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This state park is very nice. We stayed here 5 nights and the park is quiet, clean and the facilities are well kept. Our site had a fire ring and picnic table. The roads are paved and the sites are as well. All of the sites are back in only, but they are very spacious in width and length. There is no water at the site, or sewer, but there is electric and a dump station. The only downside to the park is the rude staff that works in the entry booth to the park. She deliberately keeps the lights off to make it appear that the office is closed during working hours. If you need to purchase anything or renew your reservation you will have to stop and go in the booth, even if it looks closed. Despite that, we would definitely stay here again. We camped at Delaware State Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice state park. There are a lot of things that need attention, but we really like this park. There is a lot to do here. Tis a a very large park. Just needs to have some new shower houses and the roads resurfaced. We camped at Delaware State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is one of our favorite state parks. The spots are huge. They are set up in courts so you have few neighbors. There are miles of bicycling roads. Everything is always clean and well maintained. The dump station is easy to get to with both sides accessible so the wait is never long. We camped at Delaware State Park in a Motorhome.

Make sure you to go to the town of Waldo a short distance away to the G&R Grill for a fried bologna sandwich and a mile high slice of home made pie. Superb!

We've stayed here with friends many times and always enjoy it. The sites weren't mowed when we got there this time, but I saw the mowers in another area and asked them to mow our sites so we could set up and they came right over. The sites are level and the 50 amp service was great. It rained a lot in the few days we were here, but the site had enough slope that it didn't flood us out. The store hours were hit and miss so we couldn't get firewood when we needed it. We camped at Delaware State Park in a Motorhome.

We enjoyed our stay and would return again. But there are problems. The facilities are old and not in really good repair. Paint peeling, roads not great. RV pads are narrow. Our site, 149, looked private on the map, but we shared our yard with the site next door. Nice people, but no privacy at all. Staff was friendly. Very weak Verizon broadband. Fair Dish signal. Our nightly rate was with Passport America. Without that discount, it would have been $35 a night. A site with electric only is not worth that. We camped at Delaware State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Camped in Area A for a weekend. Many shaded sites in this area. Pets are permitted. Site sizes vary and have fairly level paved pads. Toilet room / shower house is centrally located. Shower house is old and needs updated. Many locks on toilet stall doors are broke. Many, many bugs and spiders in shower house even though they are sprayed down with water daily. Showers have the timed push button faucet that require you to keep pushing the button for the water to stay on and is quite annoying. For the entire weekend we were here, we did not see a ranger patrolling one time. There is a small camp store at the campground entrance. Naturalist programs are available but are often repeated so if you camp here often this feature becomes boring. The beach is outside of the campground; not within walking distance. The beach was littered with some trash, cigarettes and had a lot of goose droppings; water was dingy and smelly but still had a lot of people swimming. We camped at Delaware State Park in a Tent Trailer.

This is our 4th trip to this State Park, and probably our last, unfortunately. While the other reviewer's hit it on the head for spacious sites and bike riding (those are pluses for sure). The bathrooms continue to be a problem for us. Although, somewhat clean, the mosquito and bug problem were at an all time high. There has been alot of rain, which might add to the bug population, but this has been an on-going problem since we started coming here. The bathrooms are in need of a serious update also to allow for a bit more privacy while changing. The shower nozzles were broken off, and the only time we saw the camper hosts in our section was when they rode the golf cart 500 feet to the dumpster, not at all friendly. Not that we need baby sitting, but the two spots next to us were very rowdy all weekend, with loud cussing and drinking, never saw the ranger all week until the day before we left. We thought this would be on our favorite list, thinking they would update the bath houses at some point, but we see the park declining more. Will not return. To many other nicer Ohio State parks out there, with better facilities. We camped at Delaware State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a really nice state park. It isn't crowded and the park itself is beautiful. The campground is well designed with large sites that give you some privacy. The bathrooms (my #1 concern with any campground) are about what I would expect for state park bathrooms. They're very basic but clean. I wish Delaware State Park had some full hook-ups or even water sites, but it's electric only. If they had those other facilities I'd give them a 10! We camped at Delaware State Park in a Tent Trailer.
