My family and I stayed for three nights and had a terrific time. Our site (#40) was pretty level and had 50 amp power. There is potable water and dump station located at the entrance of the park. The front office people and camp hosts were extremely polite and professional. The did a terrific job cleaning all the sites including removing ashes from the fire pits! Although the park was full the weekend we were there, people were very respectful of each other's camp sites and sound levels. No load music or screening! We'll definitely be back!! We camped at Harrison Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

This is our favorite Ohio State Park. We live withing 3 miles of Maumee Bay State Park, but drive over 70 miles to camp at Harrison Lake. We have camped here for years. Some sites require leveling, but it's short work. While the sites are open, campers respect those around you, and many walk the road waving at campers as they go by. Lots of dogs, and campers keep those in tow, as well. We camped at Harrison Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Sauder's is about 7-10 miles away. There are restaurants in nearby Archbold as well, and in the town of Fayette, which is closer. Just follow the signs.

Gorgeous park with lake and day-use areas (including swimming beach) easy walking distance from campground. Playground equipment is scattered throughout. A non-fenced pet beach is located down the hill from the dump station. There is only one shower house (with laundry), but restrooms with flush toilets are located throughout the camping loops. This is probably one of the cleanest state parks I've seen. As soon as a site was vacated, staff/camp hosts were there cleaning up. The grounds were beautifully mowed and well kept. The only downside of note that I saw was that some of the sights had a fairly challenging incline--bring your levelers! Verizon signal good; OTA TV signals weak, but pulled in a couple of stations. We camped at Harrison Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

The South Campground (entrance on County Road M) only has vault toilets. To get to the North Campground shower house, you have to walk/bike over the dam and through the beach/day use picnic area (at least half a mile). On the bright side, your hair will be dry by the time you get back. Or you can drive (entrance for North Campground is on County Road 27).

Harrison Lake State Park, Fayette, Ohio 126 sites in the northern section and across the lake on the south side another 37. We were able to use our PA discount that Ohio State $13. We stayed in site 6 which was level - some of the sites are not level. The bathhouses were all open and there were hot showers and a laundry room. The lake is right of the north campground. Across the lake you see the south campground and there is a walk across a small bridge to get between the two areas. Nice waterfall at one end of the lake and it looks like a fish ladder. Nice picnic tables, small beach, dog beach, hiking trails, horseshoe pit, playground, volleyball and basketball courts. Check in was easy and the workers were all very nice. There is a small store at the park office. We camped at Harrison Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Only stayed one night but were very pleased with the campground. It was super clean. We even saw staff dusting for cobwebs inside and outside of the restrooms. They were also washing the windows. The roads and sites are asphalt and are very well maintained. There are dump stations and areas to fill your fresh water tank on the way into the camping area. There are also water spigots spaced throughout the campground. These are difficult to find in the dark. Harrison Lake is beautiful. Would definitely stay here again. We camped at Harrison Lake State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

If you're looking for dusty dirt roads, gravel/dirt sites, average at best bathrooms/showers this is not the place. This is not the backwoods camping experience if that is, in deed, what you're looking for. The park is an Oasis. Wide asphalt roads and sites in wonderful repair, beautiful lake with fishing, swimming beach, volleyball court, basketball, wonderful shade trees, and lots of wonderful green grass most everywhere. We've camped in many federal, state and county parks touring the country over the years and I always thought Oregon had some of the best. Move over Oregon and let this Ohio State Park on by. It is cleaner and more spacious than 3/4 of the private campgrounds we have stayed in over the first 5,000 mile cross country excursion. A bit out of your way on back county roads but every bit the effort. Thanks Ohio! We camped at Harrison Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

Quick overnight on trip from Ohio to Wisconsin. Nice looking campground and lake.

Paved site nice but was so sloped I needed my leveling blocks to get anywhere close to comfortable. If it wasn't late when we arrived we would have moved to look for better site.

Restrooms looked clean. We camped at Harrison Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

We checked in and went to our site. We had a small, very small issue: and needed the campground host. We located his camper and asked him to help us with something. He didn't come out of the camper and totally refused to assist us. What we needed would have taken 5 minutes. The park is pretty, lake and small beach area were nice. Bathrooms were clean. However, starting at 10 pm a site rented by a group of teenage girls started playing very loud music, screaming (and I mean loud blood curdling screams), and running around the park through other campsites. By midnight my husband decided to check for security at the gate, and there was no one there. We didn't feel the host would be helpful based on earlier interaction. By 2AM, my husband asked them to "Please be quiet" because we had a camper full of kids trying to sleep. Finally by 4AM the girls were at a quiet roar. At 10AM we hauled out of that park after being told the girls were staying another night by park staff. We did not get a refund on our campsite. By far the worst night ever spent camping: EVER, by an avid camping family and ex- state park hosts. Made for a long ride since my husband had no sleep! We will never be back! We camped at Harrison Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The North Camp is particularly nice, but South Camp is OK, too. Wide expanses of grass, easy lake access, solid electrical service for our A/C on hot days. For us this is "family land" so we find it special in many ways. It's an easy drop south from U.S. 20, and near enough to the Ohio Turnpike to make it worth the trip, even for only an overnight. We camped at Harrison Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at the South Side. The flush toilets and showers are ALL on the North side campground. We had vault toilets. The walk between the two is about 1/2 mile over a levee/dam. There is a beach for people and another for dogs. We really enjoyed having a dog beach. The people beach is quite small for such a large lake. If we had stayed on the North side, we probably would have rated this higher. We camped at Harrison Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Registered online - easy peasy. Our site was lovely, backed up to a rural road and cornfields. Absolutely great park to stay in. Fireflies everywhere at night! Great bathrooms too, although they close them for a two hour cleaning at 10:00 AM. We camped at Harrison Lake State Park in a Motorhome.

I fully agree with the previous poster who mentioned how clean the bathhouses are. Definitely that was our experience. Would have liked the showerhouse more if the private changing area for each shower was a little larger and set off by a door instead of a shower curtain, but still - exceptionally clean for a state park. Well-kept grounds, and midweek was maybe half full, and nice & quiet. Lovely place. We camped at Harrison Lake State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Excellent, extremely clean, mid-size campground. Large level sites with paved driveways, turn around loops, and very clean bathrooms and shower house. Only 2 problems I noticed was the mosquito's got a little bit worse every day and night we stayed and the park is bit of a drive to everything. I was told they spray for mosquito's during peak camping season, but when I went back in the fall they were just as bad, however it was a very warm weekend. Overall, a great little known gem on a quiet little lake. We camped at Harrison Lake State Park in a Tent Trailer.

I have nothing but praise for this campground. The sites are paved, large, and very clean. It is a nice quite campground with activities for every member of the family. I have never been in a campground shower house that was as clean as this! Very nicely maintained. The downfall is no water hookup but that would not stop me from camping there again!
