Nice place; mediocre campground. If you use the bathrooms and showers like we do, you will probably be disappointed with this campground. Dated and dingy. Campsites are adequate but hardly overwhelming. You can enjoy the park without paying to camp. Worth a visit but not a repeat. We camped at Geneva State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a nice campground close to the lake. The sites are asphalt and mostly level, but manageable with a couple of leveling blocks. Sites 1-37 do not have as much shade as the sites on the back loop. All sites have electric, we had 30 amps, but not sure about the other sites. There are water spigots around the campground to fill your fresh water tank, no sewer hookups but there is a dump station. NOTE that there are only 4 fhu sites out of the 100 sites. Showers and restrooms were clean, plenty of hot water. This park has some nice hiking and bike riding trails. The beach is a short drive from campground. Overall we like the location and the campground and will stay again. Also big rig friendly.. We camped at Geneva State Park in a Motorhome.

We've never camped here before, even though it's only about an hour away from our house. Geneva-On-the-Lake is a cool throwback in time town. We stayed in the northern loop, which has less shade than the southern loop. Campsites are fairly spaced out, so you aren't on top of your neighbors. Sites are clean. Only negative to me is there is only one shower house that both loops share. With 100 campsites, that's not enough. Beach is close, about a half mile hike or bike ride. Bike trail leads you into town, a big plus. Nice getaway in Ashtabula County. We camped at Geneva State Park in a Travel Trailer.

It's a nice park but a bit crowded, although the sites are decent size there really is no separation from your neighbors. Nice having a boat ramp right in the campground. There is a small beach although we did not use it the kids enjoyed it. We would consider staying there again. There is a pair of nesting eagles yearly in one part of the campground and they shut that part off during the raising of the eaglets. They were pretty close to being fledglings, we were in the kayaks and you can see them and the nest from the water. Site was off level front to back by probably 10" over the wheel base of our 30' motorhome. We camped at Geneva State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a small campground geared more for medium to small RVs and tents although we did see a couple of larger motor homes enter the campground. RV would fit on site but there is no place to park towed vehicle or large truck. Bathhouse was extremely old but kept clean. The weird thing is that there are toilets/sinks in the camping loops but one must go to a centrally located shower house/laundry and most people had to drive or ride a bike to use as sites are electric only. Definitely very inconvenient. Beach area is very nice though there were no lifeguards. Washers and dryers were fairly new and $1.50 each per load. However, do not just leave your clothes in the dryers because they are smoking hot and it took only 30 of the 60 minutes to dry. Sites really do not have any vegetation to separate you from your neighbor. Verizon cell service was ok. We really did not like this state park that much and would not return. We camped at Geneva State Park in a Tent Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

There is a Wal-Mart about 10 miles away in Madison along with other typical big box stores and restaurants. Geneva-on-the-Lake is a touristy town with lots of places to eat and a nice park to take in the views.

This place had some similarities with Maumee Bay State Park, the sites were paved back in's and a lot of grass surrounding the pads. Lots of tall trees required breaking out the portable satellite dish to get Direct TV signal. This state park is set up in 2 loops. The first loop has just a restroom, but the second loop has restrooms and a shower house. If you stay in the first loop, it's a bit of a hike to the shower house. Here once again, the cell signal was pretty bad. Even raising our antenna mast only allowed weak WiFi signal at best. It was better in the early morning and late evenings though. The restroom and shower facilities are handicapped accessible. There is a beach area not far from the campground and a walking/biking path that goes there. Dogs are allowed on the west end of the beach area. It was pretty popular and busy all during our stay. We paid $31 a night for the site. All are back in's. There are some sites that are set aside for "walk in's only" and not reserve-able. We were here over Father's Day weekend. As expected Friday and Saturday were packed, but on Sunday the place emptied out and stayed that way up til we left on Wednesday. I would stay here again. We camped at Geneva State Park in a Motorhome.

It might have been that my wife and I camped there too early in the season, but the middle of May! Grass needed mowing, dead trees that had fallen and branches all over the place. Very poor grounds keeping, even filled out a remakes card and mailed to home office for the state of Ohio. We camped at Geneva State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We take a fall camping trip every year. This state park has a quick bike ride or walk to lake Erie. Swimming, boating, and many other fun things to do! This particular trip we rode our bikes to the marina area and happened to see a couple of bald eagles. We watched them and followed them from tree area to tree area along the marsh. Bathroom facilities are maintained. Full hook ups are available at 3 sites. The roads are all well maintained. Lots of camping spots to choose from. The walking/biking trail along the lake is simply lovely in the fall! We are so looking forward to going back! We camped at Geneva State Park in a Travel Trailer.

This was a great park. The sites were spacious and reasonably well separated. We had good ATT signal and both OTA channels and satellite TV. The laundry facilities were some of the cleanest I've seen. There are 3 sites that are full hook up and this was one. There is a grocery 5 miles away. Although the park is on Lake Erie, the campsites are not. The hiking trails are nice too. We camped at Geneva State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Typical Ohio State Park, great shady , paved, large sites, lousy showers & rest rooms. Only 3 showers on the mens side which is inadequate for the size of the campground. We are self contained and didn't use the facilities. Most sites suffer from heavy use as is apparent by all the bare spots/lack of grass at the sites. That combined with all the rain they have had lately made for muddy sites. There is a section that is pet prohibited. There are 3 sites that are FHU but we were unable to reserve them. Access to Lake Erie Beach is very close by & could be walked to but may be too far of a hike for the very young or Older crowd. No satellite reception due to all the trees. Antenna reception was unreliable from our site and I don't know if it was the trees or its a bad location for antenna reception. The nearby town of Geneva-on-the-Lake is caught in a time warp 1940's - 1950's. More fast food and drinking establishments than stores but is very walkable. The municipal Golf course is a good bargain. IF we had a reason to be in the area again we would stay here instead of the MEGA expensive park nearby. We used The Ohio State Buckeye Card for half off rate. We camped at Geneva State Park in a Motorhome.

This was our second stay at Geneva State Park Campground. We had a great time. Bathroom/Shower building is clean. Ceiling in the ladies room above the shower needs painted. Grounds are kept neat & tidy. Spacious sites. Many sites to chose from. Less busy this year. Probably due to cooler weather this year first week of October, compared to last. Laundry facility attached to previously mentioned shower building was clean and affordable, & so happy it was there!! We will definitely be back again! Full hook up at a State Park is a nice plus! Campground is super close to town(Geneva on the Lake), we rode our bikes along Lake Erie & The trail is fantastic! Beautiful scenery! We camped at Geneva State Park in a Travel Trailer.

First time we camped at Geneva State Park we chose site #68, all the way in the far back of the campground, on a cul de sac. Unfortunately we didn’t have the time to enjoy the amenities of Geneva State Park. Especially the six miles of trails that traverse park and of course the Lake Erie beaches, marshes and creeks. Electric but no water or sewer at our site. The shower house could use updating but is clean enough and usable. We camped at Geneva State Park in a Motorhome.

We had a wonderful stay at Geneva State Park! This Campground was one of the cleanest state parks that we have been to. The roadways are very well maintained. Each campsite is set up with a permanent fire ring and a solid picnic table in very good condition. Some are shaded and some are full sun. The restroom/shower facilities were very clean and well maintained. Great water pressure and hot water for an enjoyable experience! The water fill/dump station made for easy access. The office staff members were friendly and accommodating. This was our first time to this particular park, and we will definitely be back. We camped at Geneva State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Stayed for 4 nights while visiting family. I got a full hook up site, one of 3, #90, but it was blocked by trees so no DirecTV. It was a pleasant experience anyway as the setting is nice, the beach is close enough to ride a bike or a short car ride. They have a nice paved trail through the forest to the beach and marina. We had good at&t cell and Verizon Mifi. I only had the full serve site for 3 nights and had to move to an electric and water site for one night, but there we had DirecTV. All sites are 30 amps, but it was very cool for August and we had windows open at all times. Park was full on weekends, but they handle the crowd well and pretty nice types come. Lots of young families with tents, etc - but no loud partiers. I would stay there again. We camped at Geneva State Park in a Motorhome.
