Wide open spaces. Large sites. Well maintained. The limestone roads are a little dusty but not terrible. We camped at Thousand Trails / Kenisee Lake in a Motorhome.

First stay here since the new manager took over, extremely nice person who REALLY cares about the park. Had a great conversation with her about plans for the park and hope what all she wants to do does happen. Now sites are good but could use fresh stone and better aprons for getting in & out of, will help end folks tearing up the grounds and getting stuck. The park was one of the cleanest parks we have stayed in, the staff takes pride in the grounds even down to the gentleman who cuts the grass. Wifi needs help but our Verizon worked fine. All in all a wonderful park. We camped at Thousand Trails / Kenisee Lake in a Fifth Wheel.

We were traveling through Ohio, and we were very grateful they had a spot for one night. It is a peaceful and quiet campground to stay at. The site was A16. We stayed here in 2016 for a few days before, and now again in 2017. There are several seasonal people who stay here for the summers, but they do provide several sites for traveling RVERS. Our site was clean and had a picnic table. There is a swimming pool, activity room eith TVs., and a small lake for fishing. Our Over-the-Air TV picked up a few TV channels. Check in was efficient, and the staff was very friendly. We had full hookups with 30 amps. All the utilities worked well. They have a clean laundry room, but we did not use it this time. It is a little pricey, but it is to be expected being a Thousand Trails. We felt safe staying here, and we would stay again while traveling I-90. We camped at Thousand Trails / Kenisee Lake in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Make sure to follow directions from their website or ask how to get to the campground, because there is a low level bridge you must avoid. Diesel fuel and restaurants are in the small town of Jefferson.

We just stayed one night. Looks like it would be a nice place if you were camping with a family. There is a low bridge on the GPS route, which they warned us about, so call for directions. Kind of out in the country so narrow roads. Our site was tight to get into and the front tires got into the mud. Quiet night and we were on our way in the morning. Don't think we would stay here again at the price we paid. We camped at Thousand Trails / Kenisee Lake in a Motorhome.

Our first stay at this park, and we would definitely return. The park is well kept (outside of the potholes that seem to be common at all TT parks). While there are a number of seasonal sites, they seemed to be very well kept, with each one having had improvements done to it.

The nightly rate is reflective of us holding a family courtesy card and getting the site for just the $3/night additional charge for 50A.

One caution if you are coming in the fall of 2016: if you are using the directions on the website, route 45 is closed just north of the intersection with Jefferson Eagleville Road, and Forman Road is closed to local traffic only (passable but torn up) just south of route 307. We found that Allen Road was an acceptable route from route 45 to Forman Road and allowed us to avoid both of these construction projects. Hopefully construction will be completed "soon". We camped at Thousand Trails / Kenisee Lake in a Motorhome.

First time here, we found it to be very well kept, grounds are beautiful. We are TT members and wanted 50 amp hence the $3 charge. Stayed here for our 14 days. Staff is very friendly. AT&T worked well. Sites are big (we stayed here in a 40 footer), included fire pit and picnic table. Good power and water pressure. We camped at Thousand Trails / Kenisee Lake in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Take the tour of the covered bridges in the area. In Astabula County there are 18. In the surrounding area there are 30. Visit the town of Mesopotamia and the General Store. Also look for the Amish Cheese Factory. Try one of their sandwiches, $3 and awesome.

Last camping of the season. Received Thousand Trail membership with purchase of our new motorhome so thought to give them a try. Was after the "season" so pool and other amenities were already shut down. But the campground looked very nice with lots of open space. This is primarily a membership resort with a few spots available for non-members. Many sites were occupied with "permanent" guests. Club house looked like it could be enjoyable in season. Noted that pool and facilities were quite a distance (300 - 500 yards) away from the sites.

Clean and well cared for. We camped at Thousand Trails / Kenisee Lake in a Motorhome.

One of the better 1000 Trails parks. Sites level and well maintained. Have stayed here a couple times. Appears more and more sites are being taken by long term campers and not being used during the week.

Power was good. Since the park is out in the country, local TV and cell phone coverage wasn't very good. We camped at Thousand Trails / Kenisee Lake in a Motorhome.

Since they were not serving breakfast at the park on this weekend, we ate at the Jefferson Diner. The diner had good, reasonably priced breakfasts.

We purchased our newer full time RV living home at Lazydays earlier this year, and with that purchase came 14 nights of free camping at a Thousand Trails/Encore properties RV park.

We tried to use some nights earlier this year at a park in North Carolina and it was terrible! We did not even stay the night as it was not acceptable for us. Thousand Trails has a system where they do not reserve you a site: you show up and pick what's available. If it is really busy and you don't show up early enough you may get a real crappy site.

We had these free nights and had to use them by the end of August if we wanted to take advantage of them. Hey, we're full-timers and two weeks with no cost is a good thing if you can find acceptable accommodations!

So, we found this RV park by chance and it seemed to have good reviews. We did show up on a busy Saturday but arrived at 11:30am so we were able to get a decent site. This park is surprisingly nice for a Thousand Trails. The sites are spacious, the property is huge and it has a small lake on property.

Except for busy weekends with kids, it is very quiet. It is in the middle of nowhere so Verizon Wireless was a problem for us: 1-2 bars of signal strength. If you rely on local television that was none existent. Not a big deal for us.

There are plenty of places to walk around the park to get some exercise and if you are willing to pack up the bikes and drive there are bike trails close by.

The RV sites are both shaded or open and sunny depending on what site you choose. Electric service was fine on our site, water pressure at 60 psi, and sewer located toward the back of the site.

We had no problem negotiating around the park and saw many large rigs come and go. The main road in, Mill Creek Rd., is very narrow as you approach the park. There are some low bridge issues if you come in from the south so be careful and follow the park's website directions. We camped at Thousand Trails / Kenisee Lake in a Motorhome.

The nightly rate reflects TT charge of $3.00 for 50 Amp service. We stayed in A Loop, A-44 was very level, no problem finding satelite signal, good water pressure. The staff were most helpful sharing ideas for eating and site seeing. Great Thousand Trails campground. We camped at Thousand Trails / Kenisee Lake in a Motorhome.

The employees are very helpful and go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. The Rate reflects Thousand Trails membership. We stayed in a 30 amp site so no additional charge was required. They will charge $3.00 a day for 50 amps. The sites are spacious and some are shady and some are not. Sites are gravel and relatively level. There are several pull-through sites. The only drawback to this park is the lack of bath houses. There is one in A section and one by the pool in section D. If you are in sections B or C there is none close by. I would stay here again. We camped at Thousand Trails / Kenisee Lake in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate reflects TT member, very nice and well kept campground, sites level but STILL need attention on making mouth of sites larger to ease backing into sites, this would eliminate problems of sinking into the grass because the grounds are soft from rain. This would be the only bad issue here. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We camped at Thousand Trails / Kenisee Lake in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate is TT member for 50 amp. Well kept park with paved and gravel roads easily navigated with our 40' motorhome with tow car attached. Level gravel sites. The pull-thrus were full so we used C-23 back-in. No problem with our roof top satellite, but suspect sat. reception in most of the rest of C section could be a problem. Verizon smartphone had 4G one bar but Jet-pack had 4G three bars. Avoid B-6 (pull-thru) if it rains hard the ditch overflows. Real nice park, look forward to a future visit. Rate TTN for 50A. Torrential rains caused major problems with drainage. Part of "A" section is closed with electrical issues. Part of "B" section is soft. An incident there required a big rig tow to drag a pickup and fifth wheel out of the muck, buried to the axles. Staying on the gravel site areas really is necessary or you can sink into the gunk. Staff was helpful and courteous, quick to respond. Amenities are in good shape and weekend activities are fun and some draw a crowd. There are seasonal sites but there isn't a problem finding an open site to set up in. This is our 2nd stop here this year and we have enjoyed the time spent in this CG. We would return when through the area. We camped at Thousand Trails / Kenisee Lake in a Fifth Wheel.
