This park has some really good points and some very bad. The good first. It is right on the water on Kelley's Island with many sites that have a water view. Only 2 sites with distant water views allow pets. 1/2 of the really good water view sites have no electricity. There are no water or sewer sites in the park. Only one section allows pets. They strictly enforce this. At least half of the campers when we were here camped in tents. Mixing RVs and tents right next to each other can have problems. We had people next to us for 7 days with two dogs that barked all the time. The dogs were left unattended sometimes. Our distant water view was blocked most of the time by the LARGE collection of things people bring when camping in small RVs or tents. Big screen rooms for example. Sometimes there are MANY people on one site. The water fill up is a spring type, so you have to stand there holding the faucet for as long as you fill. For us I stood holding the faucet for 20 minutes.

We have been to Kelley's Island many times, but this was the first time in our motorhome. I think we will not return in our RV. If you come on summer weekends you should be OK with crowds. People pack an amazing amount of stuff into a pickup. And sometimes there was more than one pickup. We did complain to the people next to us to keep their dogs quiet. They did not. We asked the people running this park to tell the people next to us to keep their dogs quiet, they were ineffective. We camped at Kelley's Island State Park in a Motorhome.

We loved this park. The ferry over ($170. R/T for two people, a truck and a 34' 5th wheel) adds to the cost of the trip. There is a fresh water fill on the way in, and a dump station: very clean. There was a lot of space, it was clean and well maintained. We had a great view of Lake Erie from our camp site. The park also has a boat ramp and jetty for fishing. You could tell it probably gets muddy when it rains. We biked and hiked and had a great time on Kelly's Island. Would return. We camped at Kelley's Island State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Campground was maintained, paved roads & pads, nearly level. Some shade on nearly all sites. 2 of 3 bathroom buildings include showers - building in pet loop does not have showers. Pet beach for the dogs to enjoy Lake Erie. Great campground for kids & bikes. Being in island makes stay unique - golf cart rentals available on island but not allowed in campground. Ferry cost may be high for large rigs ($150 for 2 adults, truck & 30' 5er, may make a weekend stay cost prohibitive, but also keeps the campground free of rowdies. Campground hosts were friendly and seen working every day. Many boaters anchor near beach to swim also. Beach is sandy with some rocks. Hosts offered movies for kids on Saturday night, along with some nature programs. Would given a higher rating if showers in all buildings, more toilet stalls available (currently 2 each), a bit larger site, and a cheaper ferry service. We camped at Kelley's Island State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

This is a beautiful state park right on the north shore of Kelleys Island, one of the Lake Erie islands in Ohio. The campground is clean, well kept and the sites are very nice. The only way to get you and your camper to the island is by ferry from Marblehead. It cost us $106 round trip for two people, our truck and a tent trailer. There is also a passenger-only ferry that runs from Sandusky to Kelleys Island and on to South Bass Island. To reach the state park from the ferry dock you must travel through the downtown area. Not bad when we were there but it is probably quite full at the peak of the season. The showerhouses are pretty modern and well kept. The only gripe was that there was only one toilet available in the men's side of our showerhouse during the three days we were there. The other had a sign stating it was being replaced. Not really a big problem, since the CG wasn't anywhere near capacity. We were there near the end of the Mayfly season. Wouldn't want to be there at the peak of the season! We had them on all wind-sheltered surfaces. The CG has a nice sandy beach within very easy walking distance. It is sheltered by a breakwater. There are also some nice trails going around the north shore and the glacial grooves, scoured into the rock during the last Ice Age. Well worth seeing! The town of Kelleys Island has several restaurants, a mini-golf and a few stores. It doesn't take long to see, but our reason for visiting was relaxation so it wasn't an issue. It's a nice campground and a beautiful area. A little removed, but worth the trip! We camped at Kelley's Island State Park in a Tent Trailer.

This is a great Ohio State Park. It was clean neat and right on the lake. We stayed in late June. The Kelley's Island Winery is a short bike ride away and worth the ride, good wine and food. We camped at Kelley's Island State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a great park. Very nice sites, all with asphalt pads. Our site was grassy and large enough for our 30' trailer and screen room with room to spare for the kids to play. You must travel by ferry from Marblehead, OH to the island. The fee was approximately $186 round trip for our car, trailer and family of 6. The island is quaint, with most people traveling by golf cart. The state park does not allow golf carts inside, so it made for a very quite, low traffic stay. All interior road are asphalt and in great condition. You can easily walk from the campground to the beach on Lake Erie, water is sandy and very shallow, great for kids. Not alot to do on the island, 1 mini golf and several little tourist shops. The island is not big, so you can bicycle it easily. It was a great place to relax. Prices are very high for grocery items etc, so plan ahead and bring all your supplies to avoid having to shop on the island. We all enjoyed this park, and would go back again. We camped at Kelley's Island State Park in a Travel Trailer.
