Lots of big rigs. The pads were nice, level, asphalt with almost all in full sun. Lots of families with little kids and dogs, but all were well behaved. Not much to do in the campground itself but it's a good jumping-off point for exploring the Lake Erie coast. We camped at East Harbor State Park in a Tent Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

1. Bring your bike. There are lots of flat bike trails, including a two-lane, asphalt bike trail to the beach. 2. Jolly Roger Seafood Restaurant in Port Clinton has good walleye and perch at good prices. Everything's fried though.

Wonderful campground, grounds staff and camp store employees are awesome and super friendly and helpful. Access to Lake Erie and the inlet are both very accessible, views are beautiful and grounds are very well maintained along with the restrooms and the shower houses. Pet friendly and people friendly, have stayed several times and will continue to visit in the future since we are both retired and can camp whenever we want now. Recent visit we had a lot of rain and we were able to be relocated without any problems or questions. Beautiful grounds for walking or fishing or just simply relaxing outside. We have enjoyed all of our stays here. We camped at East Harbor State Park in a Truck Camper.

Tips for other Campers:

Lots to do in the area, Put in Bay, Kelly's Island, Middle Bass Island...ferries and lots of places to eat. Cedar Point is a hop, skip and jump for day trips. For the absolute best Lake Erie Perch you must eat at Jolly Roger's!! No matter when we go one afternoon is always set aside for our afternoon meal there, we would never miss it! Grocery stores and WalMart in the vicinity as well.

A nice Ohio State Park right on Lake Erie. It is much better now that the entire campground is "pet friendly." We prefer the pull through sites in section B, but that was off limit to pets until 2017. Section C is tight unless you are on a full hook-up site. The multi-purpose blacktop trail (walking/bike/etc.) allows for a nice access to the beach. Even just a nice bike ride or walk is great in this park. WiFi is available near the camp store. Showers could use updating, but they were still nice, clean, and hot. We enjoyed our stay and there is plenty to do in this area of the state. We camped at East Harbor State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

A very large, decent Ohio state park on the shore of Lake Erie. Unfortunately, it really didn't do much for us as sites are close together, there are limited trails, and while the entire campground is now open to dogs, I certainly wouldn't call it a dog friendly park. We had one of the few full hookup sites, which was nice (I understand they are new in the last 2-3 years), but be sure and make reservations if you want full hookups. The vast majority of sites are also not suitable for big rigs so choose your site carefully (all full hookup sites are big rig friendly). We'd stay again if passing through the area, but we certainly wouldn't go out of our way to visit. Decent, but not great AT&T signal and open sky for satellite reception. We camped at East Harbor State Park in a Motorhome.

This campground has four areas to camp without electric, electric, and full hookups. It is huge; there were some areas where it was posted no pets, but that policy has changed and now the campground is pet friendly in all areas. We stayed here at the beginning of the season with about 10 other RV's. The one bathroom open was in the B section and they were opening as we drove in. There is a basketball court, hiking trails, beaches, picnic areas, amphitheater, play grounds, boat launch ramp, fish cleaning area, disc golf, volleyball, horseshoes and archery. It's a good place to stay to visit the Marblehead Lighthouse SP, Magee Marsh Wildlife Area and the famous Cedar Point. Sunday through Wednesday Nights the Ohio State Parks accept Passport America with its 50 percent off. This campground is too big for me but the Sandusky Bay is beautiful. We had self checkin since it was early in the season. We camped at East Harbor State Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed at a full hook-up site in C loop. Very nicely kept grounds. We did not use bathroom facilities but we did check them out, (glad we got a full hook-up site) but they had new bathroom facility across the way from us that was super nice. No bug issues while we were there. The sites were not very private but they were very clean and large enough. There are not many full hook-up sites and no water at any other sites. There is a dump station that got lots of use. Park and Campground is right on the Great Lake Erie with a tree line around the campground. Would definitely go back if we could get a full hook-up site. We camped at East Harbor State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

All the locals eat at Jolly Roger in Port Clinton when they want fish! It's a hole-in-the-wall restaurant with AWESOME food!!

There are some great museums and tourist attractions to see here but lots of things are only open on the weekends by late September.

Our site is very uneven, some of the other sites were better. Well maintained roads. They are adding a new bath house. If you have pets please be careful, loops A and B don't allow pets!!

Clean, quiet, customer-service oriented experience. We really enjoyed the karaoke contest and outdoor deejay dance party. Lake Erie was very nice for swimming and wasn't far at all from the campgrounds. Our site was very large and very well shaded with mature trees. Our animals were welcome. Rules weren't excessive but were very well enforced. Park was easy to find and easy to navigate once on the grounds. We camped at East Harbor State Park in a Tent Trailer.

We stayed here for a week at a pull-through electric only site, C226. It had an asphalt pad and was long enough, but it was the least level site we have ever stayed in. Funny, considering the state park is the flattest in Ohio. It was also difficult to maneuver in and out. We put some ruts in the grass and the ground was very soft from rain. We like the park, but if you want a pull-through, you need to get your reservation in 6 months ahead for a level site. The dump station and potable water were clean and easily accessible. We camped at East Harbor State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Sites are rather close, narrow pad and have little drainage for rain water. Utilities are located in the proper place and worked fine. Grass needed to be cut at the campsites. This is the first Ohio State Park I've been to that needs some overall fixing up. We camped at East Harbor State Park in a Motorhome.

Beautiful setting on Lake Erie. Largest state park campground in Ohio. Nice trails and gorgeous beach. Friendly camp hosts. Sites are not very private and you need to reserve the full hook-up pull -through sites as soon as you can. Very busy on the weekends. Good camp store with sandwiches and ice cream available. We camped at East Harbor State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful and clean was my first impression. Very helpful staff. Small walk or drive to the sandy beach. Lots of nice walking trails. Bikes to rent. Three campgrounds....1) no electric, 2) elec no pets 3) elec with pets. Upon arriving they asked us if we needed to fill our holding tank with water and directed us to the fill area. For the size of the campgrounds it was very quiet. Would definitely return. We camped at East Harbor State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a nice park, and is fine for a big rig. We got a long pull-through in the "B" loops - were in site B101 and there was plenty of room for our 44' coach and the Jeep. There was 50 amp electric only (no water or sewer) but OUR SATELLITE WORKED, so we were happy campers indeed! AND, as an added bonus, the Ohio State Parks accept Passport America and discount the rate by 50% on weekdays! Fun park with lots of bike trails and nice scenery. Would stay here again, for sure! Park is on the lake although we did not see any sites that were on the lake or had lake view. Very spacious park-like setting in all the loops. Lots of sites! Paved pull-ins and back-ins. Large park with lots of biking potential and great beach front to play in. Showers and baths very clean. We primarily selected this CG because it was a Passport America campground which is unusual for a state park but found out that we did not read the fine print and the PA discount was not honored on day we were there. Would come back though. We camped at East Harbor State Park in a Motorhome.
