10 Parks near Lima, Ohio
Jun 2016 - $20.00
Johnny Appleseed Parks Ottawa Metro Park is one of the nicer county parks we've stayed in. The sites offer water and electric and a dump is available. Most of the sites are 30 amp with only a few 50 amp sites - 3 of which are handicapped. However, if the park is full the handicapped spots are available for anyone. The sites are paved, long and level. Lots of green grass between sites with some small trees. There is a lake with a beach and a disc golf course. A multi-use trail starts at the park and goes for about 10 miles. It's a nicely paved path but it runs through some, shall we say, colorful areas. It is very quiet at night. Busy on the weekends with lots of locals. The camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. This would get a higher rating if there were more 50 amps sites, sewer and WII FI. That's not asking for too much :) We camped here in a motorhome. - Free
Jun 2016 - $25.00
This is a lovely newer campground with paved roads and RV pads, nicely mowed grass and mostly younger trees. The bathhouse was new and very clean. It is not far from I75 and is first come first served. You pay by check at a drop box in the bathhouse. The water hookups were odd as some sites you would need to hookup on a shared water tower with 2 faucets. Your water hose would run across your site. No sewer hookups. We picked up many OTA TV stations. There is a camphost on property. We loved it here. - R&S
Sep 2015 - $20.00
A vast well maintained city park by Lima reservoir for boating. A hill for sledding, a smaller lake for swimming, an arboretum, well paved campground roads, level paved wide sites with a gravel border, 30 and 50 amps, water between two sites, a very clean tiled bathhouse with hot water. Lots of bike and walking paths. One rv dump. Really the nicest CG I have ever seen. $20 sr. rate. - 210jem
Jun 2006 - $25.00
This park is over run with seasonal campers many of which allowed their units to become very run down. Golf carts everywhere and it was a rather loud campground. They advertise having a swimming pool, which turns out to be a swimming lake. The lake was ok for swimming and did have nice homemade slides. They did have 2 playgrounds which were decent and they had a live band which was entertaining on both nights. I would not stay here again. - ACGreen
Jun 2016 - $38.00
An older KOA transitioning from 24 year owners to their son - last 4 years. A bit dog eared, but clean with nice lakes, walking, fishing and more for kids and kid-adults. Not a lot around here, but only a few miles to next exit and mucho restaurants, etc. We would stay here again. Stayed here in a class B Roadtrek with no slides, toad using 30 amps and water, but did not have site with sewer. Dump station is fine and accessible. - KAZIMIRA
Jul 2014 - $44.00
We’ve stayed at this campground for a couple years and have reviewed it before. The place is still very nice, well-maintained, and the staff is awesome. However, it’s been KOA’d. $44 per night and not even full hookup, no pool, and 30-amp service! Plus another couple bucks for the dogs, AND there’s a charge for the agonizingly slooowww Wi-Fi. Wow. The pricing doesn’t seem to be hurting business, though. Pretty full on this mid-July weekend, with a lot of overnighters. The seasonal sites are all very well maintained with nice-looking rigs on them. - gomershad
Apr 2014 - $30.00
We began stopping here for the night on our way home from Florida several years ago. The reason was that they offered a special "Snowbird" overnight site for $20.00, with electric hookup only. It was great, and we stopped the next year and found it went up to $25.00. This year, they wanted $30.00. I guess because it was later in the year and the water was turned on, but I found this excessive considering there is nothing else available for your use. When you compare it to other parks where you get full hookups, paved sites, cable TV, WiFi, restrooms with showers, etc., for about the same price, it's no longer a bargain. I don't think we'll be staying here again. - michdoc
Sep 2015 - $25.00
Great campground for boaters! Although we don't boat or generally use the beach/lake area at all, we still enjoyed our stay here. We originally reserved a lakeside (full hookup) site. Once we got there and saw how crowded the sites are in that area, we switched to a different one with more privacy.
The lakeside sites would be nice for families with small children. There were TONS of kids running between and through all the sites. Being just the two of us, it wasn't really what we were looking for - definitely wouldn't be a relaxing trip! We moved to C49 and it was absolutely PERFECT! Very spacious/private and close enough to a water spigot to fill up with our hose. The site had a perfect balance of sun and shade. - PugResQ
Jun 2012 - $26.00
First time to this campground. Camped in Area C. Shade is not as abundant in this area and is further from the lake so these sites seem to fill up last but still a good area. Area B is heavily wooded and can be difficult to get a site: reserve early for those sites. Nice campground and one of the nicest camp stores I've seen at a State park. Camp store also offered scooped hard ice cream. Various boats and bikes available for rent. The kids really liked the BMX bike course. A good place for biking. There is a game room at camp store. The beach looked clean and nice but some of the lake water looked green so we did not swim here. The shower house was close to the campsite and had an abundance of clean showers. They appeared to have recently had some minor renovations. There was also a toilet room close by that was older but clean and quite adequate. The campground was a little rowdier than we are used to but was patrolled often. We will add this campground to our regular rotation. - tbga21
Jun 2012 - $32.00
Nice CG on the shores of Indian Lake. We paid a couple of $ extra for water front site. Typical of other Ohio State CG's. Most sites do not have full hook ups, just electric. Has a nice large campstore. - djkm
Jul 2016 - $47.00
Fairly easy to reach from I-75. Entrance driveway and the internal gravel roads are little narrow but manageable. You drive past the pull thru sites en route to the office and have to backtrack to the pull thru sites once you've paid. Luckily, we had a knowledgeable escort. The clerk at check in was friendly and gave me a choice of sites. The office has pizza, wings, etc. for sale, but we didn't partake. Other supplies and brochures available.
The gravel pull thrus, as mentioned by someone in a previous review, are long and level but narrow. Not terrible for an overnight. Our spot was shady which was welcome given the heat. Some sites had no trees, and some seemed wider than ours. Picnic tables "conveniently " located next to sewer connections. Fire rings were well placed, not too close to the rv. We didn't notice road noise, but we had air conditioners running.
I'm past the tent camping stage, but the tent spots looked great with good spacing and grassy area.
Plenty to do at this campground. Very family oriented. Many well-behaved kids having fun outside which is refreshing to see. The pool looked inviting as did the playground and sports offerings.
Digital cable had many channels but no guide. Great picture. Wifi was ok.
KOAs generally disappoint, but this one didn't. It's the best one we've tried. Owners/ managers seem to take pride in their facility and actually offer something for the money. Plus, they seem to keep it clean and trim. - User3617
Jun 2016 - $42.00
Nice campground for an overnight stop. Site was level with good electric and water as well as a deck to pull up to. Sites are close, as is the highway, so expect noise which is made worse for tent campers as they are closest to the highway.
Facilities were clean and well cared for. Nice looking pool and playground, lots of activities. Staff was very friendly and lead me to my site, even though it was only right across from the office.
Would stop again if passing through the area. - Cyclonic
May 2016 - $55.00
Stayed here Memorial Weekend. The grounds and restrooms were clean, and staff was great. The pool was great and the campground had planned activities all weekend. This campground's biggest weakness IMO is the site sizes are small. For reference, my slideout extended onto my neighboors patio that he could use it as a backrest while sitting at his table. I also had to park my truck sideways to avoid sticking out onto the road. Lastly, I didn't like that I could here the traffic from the freeway all night. There is also little to do in the area. I will not return but do not want to deter people who would want to stay a night or so while traveling through. - DoubleEE
Aug 2015 - $10.00
Indoor pool, $$ laundry, small lake for paddle boats/canoes/swimming. Coast to Coast members are in a section separate from member sections of the resort, full hook up but, w/30 amp service only. - rracer5
Sep 2013 - $10.00
Wi-Fi was very weak even though we were less than 50 yds away. Rate is C2C member rate. We were late arrivals and used button at gate. The manager said to go to the back row and pick any site. They were 30 amp only. The sites in the front of the park are nicer and sold as time-shares. There are several resident seasonal campers and they were very unfriendly. Not a bad place for a short stay. Has nice facilities in front of park and they are available to all. - Mick Barnes
Jul 2012 - $30.00
We used this park for a two-night 'overnight' to allow us to visit family in the area. When I reserved the site, I asked for a 50A site with access to the satellites: I did not use the water, sewer, or cable. When we arrived, the staff didn't know we were coming; when we said we weren't C2C, they didn't want to let us stay. It turns out that they are under new management, but they ended up honoring the offer made by their predecessor. I was told to 'pick a site anywhere on the last row and let us know.' Unfortunately, I picked a site and started setting up before checking the power. It was only 30A; it turns out that, of the 15 or so sites, only two had 50A, and I had to check till I found one. Otherwise the power was good, but there was definite age on the pedestals and receptacles. - Fletchers
May 2013 - $30.00
Called ahead and asked for a pull through site and assured they were available. Pull through was in maintenance yard between a building and a backhoe. It was surrounded with heavy equipment, stored/consignment trailers, and three story piles of firewood. Patio was a maintenance driveway. No outdoor space at all! For $30.00 per night? If we were not so tired we would have left. Balance of park was nice but tightly packed. Family run for years seem to have no conscience as to what they call a campsite. - U320
Oct 2011 - $30.00
A nice park not too far from I-75. Almost all sites are rented out on an annual basis and occupied by park models. Lots of kids and activities. Almost everyone has a golf cart and there is a constant parade of them throughout the park. Nightly sites are "lake view", gravel and level with only one pull through that I saw. There are lots of campfires and the smell of wood smoke is everywhere day and night. I would stay here again. - travler27
Sep 2010 - $30.00
This is a pretty park but asked for and got a pull-thru. Only the pull-thru was on blacktop between 2 buildings used for RV repairs! We went back to the office and she finally gave us a back-in site that wasn't level AT ALL and had an old rickety wood deck. If we would have had to spend more than 1 night we would have left. She did take $5 off the $30 - redhead1943
Oct 2014 - $10.00
The Airstream Terraport is where you can camp while having service done on your Airstream at the factory. The Terraport is also available for camping if you are passing through, or taking the factory tour. It's nothing fancy, 30/50 Amp, water, sewer and Wi-Fi. No restroom or showers. They also fill propane tanks. And it's only $10 a night if you are not having service done. - damonbeals
Jul 2010 - $30.00
Very well kept park. Mostly full timers. Grass sites are a little off level but could level the RV OK. Entrance is a long, tree lined lane, but the gravel road is in very good shape. The whole park was groomed very nice. Management is very helpful. Has a small swimming lake and also a small fishing lake. Would definitely camp here again. - darby
