This municipal park is located approximately 1.5 miles east of I-75 which makes it a convenient spot to use as an overnight stop when traveling. The park features eight 60-70 foot long pull through sites which are very level. These sites are great if you don't want to unhook your toad or trailer. Sites are open with very little understory so no privacy. The bath house is modern and very clean. Dump station is easy to use on the way out of the park. There is a small swimming lake, open late May through mid-August for a additional fee. This is a well run park and had little use mid-week in August. We camped at Ottawa Metro Park in a Travel Trailer.

This is a lovely newer campground with paved roads and RV pads, nicely mowed grass and mostly younger trees. The bathhouse was new and very clean. It is not far from I75 and is first come first served. You pay by check at a drop box in the bathhouse. The water hookups were odd as some sites you would need to hookup on a shared water tower with 2 faucets. Your water hose would run across your site. No sewer hookups. We picked up many OTA TV stations. There is a camphost on property. We loved it here. We camped at Ottawa Metro Park in a Travel Trailer.

Johnny Appleseed Parks Ottawa Metro Park is one of the nicer county parks we've stayed in. The sites offer water and electric and a dump is available. Most of the sites are 30 amp with only a few 50 amp sites - 3 of which are handicapped. However, if the park is full the handicapped spots are available for anyone. The sites are paved, long and level. Lots of green grass between sites with some small trees. There is a lake with a beach and a disc golf course. A multi-use trail starts at the park and goes for about 10 miles. It's a nicely paved path but it runs through some, shall we say, colorful areas. It is very quiet at night. Busy on the weekends with lots of locals. The camp hosts were very friendly and helpful. This would get a higher rating if there were more 50 amps sites, sewer and WII FI. That's not asking for too much :) We camped here in a motorhome. We camped at Ottawa Metro Park in a Motorhome.
Nice bike trail accessible from park; beach and lake if that is your thing

This is a nice campground located just a few minutes off of I75 in Lima, Ohio. The roads and the spacious, level campsites are paved. There are both back in and pull-through sites. The trees in the campground are smaller, so they don't offer much shade but, as a result of their size, getting satellite TV is no problem. Some sites offer 50 amp electric but the majority are 30 amp. All sites are water/electric and there is a dump station in the campground. The restroom/shower building is modern and clean. During our stay the price was $25 a night with an over-60 senior discount price of $20. There are some terrific, paved walking trails and a swimming beach in the park. The only negative I saw about the campground is that it's all first-come/first-served with no reservations possible. For RVers out on the road this arraignment doesn't work very well. We arrived the weekend after Labor Day and had no problem getting a site. If you plan on coming to this park during busier times, you might want to try arriving on a weeknight; or at least you will want to have a backup campground in mind. My Verizon 4G signal was a usable 2 bars. This place is a real winner, especially if you don't mind taking a chance on getting a site when traveling during busy times of the year. We camped at Ottawa Metro Park in a Fifth Wheel.
If you like hamburgers you might want to try a local favorite: Kewpee Burger. This popular burger chain is one of the first in the United States. They have three restaurants in Lima and the only other two are in Michigan.

A vast well maintained city park by Lima reservoir for boating. A hill for sledding, a smaller lake for swimming, an arboretum, well paved campground roads, level paved wide sites with a gravel border, 30 and 50 amps, water between two sites, a very clean tiled bathhouse with hot water. Lots of bike and walking paths. One rv dump. Really the nicest CG I have ever seen. $20 sr. rate. We camped at Ottawa Metro Park in a Motorhome.

This fine county park is a hidden gem in West Central Ohio. You are near a major highway and only about 3 miles from the center of Lima, but you feel like you are far away from civilization. Yes, you will hear an occasional train whistle or the distant sound of traffic, but it is so peaceful. Room to be by yourself or to socialize with neighbors. We have been coming to this park for the past 10 years. They did loose all of the trees to the Emerald Ash Bore, but the new trees are starting to develop limited shade. Although there is no sewer connection, the dump station is slopped for easy usage. There are 6, 50 amp sites. Ask the host for their location. Several also have gray drain so that you can run your laundry and not fill the tanks. We camped at Ottawa Metro Park in a Fifth Wheel.
Allen County Museum is outstanding. You will find all shopping and restaurants the next exit South on I 75. The good news is that the I 75 construction will be completed by the fall of 2015. You might want to ask the host about directions to the Kewpee Restaurant. This is the hamburger and French fry location for the area. Look at the menu and then remember the Wendy's Menu. Do you see that they look similar. I wonder why?

This is a gem of a park very close off the I-75 interstate but with no interstate noise. Great walking, green fields, clean. We had trouble with the 30 amp breaker continuously tripped but we made it work. Other than that, no complaints, would stay here again for an overnight stay. We camped at Ottawa Metro Park in a Motorhome.

What a surprise to find such a nice city campground! There is a nice choice of back-in or pull-through sites but all are long enough for the largest rigs and a vehicle. Each site was paved with ample grassy area between each site. Picnic table provided at each site. We enjoyed riding our bikes on the trails through the wildflowers and trees. The park is very close to lots of shopping and restaurants but you feel like you're in a very isolated area in the campground as it's so quiet. Once in a while we'd hear a train in the distance but we enjoy that so it didn't bother us. We would definitely stay here again if in the area. We camped at Ottawa Metro Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Large level paved site. Large grassy yard. Some pull thru, otherwise easy back in sites. Good utilities. Great walking paths. Would rate a 10 if there was 50 amp, sewer and WIFI. Rate was senior rate. We camped at Ottawa Metro Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate reflects senior discount. Immaculate restrooms, grass manicured, great water pressure, good 50 amp power on three of the pull-throughs and handicap sites. The rest of the sites are 30 amp. Verizon works great. Easy on/off interstate yet far enough away where you can't hear it. Park host is very knowledgeable of local area and very accommodating. As someone else said " A hidden Gem". If it had sewer connections, it would rate a 10! We camped at Ottawa Metro Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Rate reflects senior discount, and rating is based on parks with similar services. The park accepts cash or checks only. This park is another hidden jewel! It is a beautiful, smaller, clean, well landscaped County owned park with an extensive trail/walking system. A swimming area with lifeguards is available within the park for an extra fee. The park is very open with a few younger trees and lots of open spaces with sites extremely spacious. Do be aware that there are only 3 or 4 sites with 50 amp service. There is no sewer connections at the sites but the park does have a very accessible dump station. As noted in previous reviews the park does not take reservations. This is not a problem Sunday through Thursday evenings, but the park does fill up on the weekends. We camped at Ottawa Metro Park in a Motorhome.

Great stopover site. Clean restrooms and all level sites. Dump station as no sewer at site but the space and size made up for it. Nice an quiet and easily managed big rigs. Will stay here again. We camped at Ottawa Metro Park in a Motorhome.

This is a lovely campground, well maintained with paved level sites. Each with water, electric (a few 50 Amp sites) picnic table and a fire ring. Wood is available for a small fee, $5.00 for the week. The restrooms and showers were clean however there were no soap dish or hooks available in the shower area. They have a dump station for sewer and also a dump for just grey water. There's a beach swimming area and fishing lake available. I rated this park a 9 because items lacking in the shower area, there's no shade as the trees are yet too small and there's no sewer hookup at the camp site. I would certainly stay here again. We camped at Ottawa Metro Park in a Motorhome.

Very nice park and campground. Plenty of space at sites and all paved and level. Has very nice swimming area for those that want to use it for $4. Great price - $20 or $15 for seniors. No reservations, but only full on weekends. I will stay here again. We camped at Ottawa Metro Park in a Motorhome.

Gave rating 9 instead of 10 because no sewer at sites and no visible laundry facility. Otherwise this park is a gem. Paved sites with grass, clean showers, and fire pits with free wood. Picnic tables were like new at all sites. There is a beach close by for a fee, but we didn't use it as we were only here for one night. Good Verizon wireless & phone signal. Easy in and out. No large highway advertisement so guess we're doing the advertising. You bet we would come and camp here again. We're not crazy about the first come first served policy, but when we were here there were PLENTY of open sites. We camped at Ottawa Metro Park in a Motorhome.
