24 Parks near Loudonville, Ohio
Oct 2016 - $35.00
We stayed at this campground with friends for a local Octoberfestival. Great service and most of the time the owners are in the camp office. Most sites are seasonal guests, but great access to the river. - sadkins6
Oct 2008 - $25.00
We stayed right on the river, it was very peaceful. This park has many seasonal campers and most must be big Ohio State fans, lots of OSU flags flying. They set up a TV in the pavilion and had a big bon-fire during the game. The sites were on the small size. Toilets were pit latrines. Each lot is serviced by back to back electric and water hydrants. Close to Amish towns and farms. - myriad
Oct 2016 - $35.00
Very narrow asphalt sites with grass between each one.
Outdated water and sewer connections. A wooden wedge was required to keep the spring loaded water valve open.
Laundry room was not clean. Appliances were old and rusty but the price to laundry was very reasonable. The location was beautiful. Campground had a playground and a pool. Satelite reception was spotty. - lauraslytle
Jun 2016 - $27.00
Beautiful state park. Our favorite place to camp when visiting Mohican/Amish area. Nice store and newly remodeled showerhouses with ceramic tile and fresh paint. Quite a big improvement from our stay last year. Site 90 is spacious and the fire ring is situated right on the river bank for a great view. Plenty of room for a screen house or canopy on this lot. The only bad thing is it tends to be a little muddy in rainy weather but the campground has attempted to fix this by laying straw down on the affected areas. This was a minor inconvenience to us and wouldn't deter us from booking this site again in the future. - loribrady
Jun 2016 - $40.00
Pretty park, sites have nice separation but no privacy. Gravel pads with grass surface. We had a full hook up site (#60) which is really nice to have at a state park. It's also a back-in site with plenty of space behind the camper for kids to play. The "pullover" aka drive-through sites are cramped. Lots of tall, mature trees to provide shade. The surrounding hills make for pretty scenery. The park has a great swimming pool with a recently added splash pad and new, extensive playground equipment. The camp store has the basics along with a few extras like gem stone mining and inner tubes for sale to use on the adjacent river. The restrooms are typical state park- cement floors and cobwebs but the fixtures were clean and the soap dispenser was refilled. The shower houses could use some more frequent cleaning especially during heavy use. A couple of the shower houses also had laundry machines. Although the campground was full, we didn't feel overcrowded. There is an IGA in the nearby town along with a few fast food restaurants, Post Office, etc. Just outside the park are places you can rent canoes and an impressive looking high-ropes course. Our At&t phones had NO reception. We also had NO over the air TV stations and NO AM/FM radio stations. Total media blackout! The sites near the front of the park had weak signals. This is a pretty area of Ohio with rolling hills, dense forests, and picturesque farms along with a large Amish population. - Fdwt994
Jul 2016 - $27.00
We were here with a group or would have not selected this facility. The bathrooms are falling apart. The campground is activity oriented not so much RV oriented. Lots of cabins. Fire rings in use smoldered so bad it was difficult to stay outside at night time. Many restrictive rules plus you must sign an agreement that releases their liability even for neglect. It contains a arbitration clause and they insist that you wear their wrist band for the duration of stay.
We will choose not return to this facility in the future. - Travelall
Jul 2016 - $100.00
The park is very large and has a lot to do for kids and adults. Nice options on facilities great store. Great location easy to find. How many different size sites. Great family campground for all age range of kids. - Fireball1
Sep 2015 - $45.00
Good: Location (across from Canoe livery), clean restrooms, great service staff, indoor pool, fishing.
Needing Improvement: Sites are tight and navigation in and around campground tight, Lake not clean enough or me to swim in with lots of algea and moss floating on top. - DoubleEE
Jun 2014 - $40.00
We have been camping for years, all around Ohio and Mohican. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Rude owner and staff. Owners favorite word starts with "F", even around our children! Park was swamped with recent rains and staff wouldn't help make the situation better. They said they had bales of straw available to cover the mud but it was $5 a bale! Price gouging instead of helping the campers that were trying to make the best of the weekend. We will continue to camp on the river but it will be anywhere but Mohican Reservation. Beware! - User3518
Jul 2010 - $30.00
Enjoyed the campground and will return next year. Spent 2 weeks at this campground on a lot overlooking the river which resulted in a lot of entertainment. Difficult entrance way and exit for a 40ft 5th wheel and the lack of a sewer hookup was a problem. Low hanging power lines is trouble for a big rig and we had to have a spotter walking beside the rig to make sure we could clear them with only a couple of inches to spare. - dilligaf1
Jun 2005 - $18.00
We camped here and canoed at another location. The staff was friendly and we had a nice secluded tent site. - angles87
Aug 2015 - $42.00
I will pretty much ditto the other reviews about this campground, with dirty showers, brown water, and unenforced quiet times. I actually think the water made me sick. It was so bad that even after filtering it through a charcoal filter, we still ended up buying bottled water from a local store for drinking purposes. We stayed from a Thursday through to Monday. The site itself was actually pretty nice; level, adequate sized, and right on the river with easy access to the water. Other that the water being nasty we thought things were quite nice -on Thursday. Then came Friday night. The name of this campground on their web page is River Run "Family" Campground. You can throw the word "Family" out; this place is party central. The drunks in the site next to us stayed up and played drunken games (with an ax no less) until the wee hours of the morning and language that no child should be exposed to. There was no enforcement of the 1100pm quiet hour anywhere in the campgrounds. We stayed over until Monday and finally on Sunday evening we finally got some quiet and serenity. However when we got ready to pull out on Monday, we discovered that the dump station was full and running over.....we had no place to dump our tanks! I want to the office and at first they said sorry but there's nothing hey could do. I wasn't about to pull 2.5 hours with full tanks, I was preparing to pull down the street to the next campground and pay them to dump but the honey-dipper truck had just showed up for the full timers and they -camp management- had them come over and pump us out too. The only good things I can say about this campgrounds is that it is located close to all the Mohician River activities; the swimming pool was nice (cleaner water than the drinking water); and the site on the river was nice. Other than that I can not recommend this campgrounds, especially for families. - campdaddy
Aug 2013 - $33.00
The campground needs work. The sites were mud pits and too close. water is brown. Bathrooms are inadequate in number and filthy. There are a total of three bathroom sinks and three showers for 240+ camp sites. Fee is way over priced at $33 plus per night. We camped all over the country this year and this was by far the worst campground in terms of basic cleanliness and amenities such as water. - Len00lisa
Aug 2011 - $34.00
We do a lot of camping & this campground is our least favorite. We had read a review that people stayed up late making a lot of noise, so we called prior to reserving & were told that an 11 PM quiet time was strictly enforced. Not true. The people next to us stayed up until 2 blasting music & drinking. No one ever said anything to them. The showers were dirty & smelled bad. The bathroom was loaded with bugs & spider-webs. The fresh water was brown. The staff were RUDE & not helpful. When asked a question, their replies were little more than grunts. I seriously cut myself in the shower. Because of the bleeding, I wanted to let a cleaning person know. When I did, she could not have shown less concern acting as if I was more than a nuisance. We will not return to this campground. - ctaft
Jul 2016 - $35.00
Showers old and limited for size of park. Pit toilets, plug your nose! Sites on the river cost $5.00 more. Shows Passport America discounts but very limited time frame. Watch for low limbs on trees on several campsites.
Camp store sells a decent pizza and they sell carry out beer. - Wi1dBi11
Apr 2016 - $20.00
Found this park was decent for a couple of nights. It was rainy while we were there and we found that the roads leading to the sites turned to mud slicks. Gravel is definitely needed! There are some seasonal RVs scattered about but there's plenty of spaces for guests. The site was gravel with a concrete patio. Our site backed up to the beautiful Mohican river. The owners were super nice & very helpful. - sbelle55
Oct 2014 - $30.00
This is a fantastic getaway and a great place to camp. Right on the river with spectacular views. Basic sites with plenty of room for our 40' RV. The owners and staff are fantastic. Pizza and wings on site. Recreation area with a pool, corn hole and volleyball and a basketball hoop. No sewer hook ups but they do have a honey wagon and a dump station. Perfect for a getaway and in a great location for canoeing and Amish country. We highly recommend this campground!! - jnlo
Jul 2015 - $41.00
First the good: They have a pool, and it appeared fairly clean. And now the bad: 1) Roads, or lack thereof. They sent me to a site down along the river. This camping area, although it was not disclosed to me, appears to be designed for only tent camping or small popup campers. The path there was an extremely steep dirt road that is washed out in several spots with 6 inch deep ruts. I was pulling a 30 ft trailer and no one said a thing about this! If I didn't have 400 HP and 4x4, I'd have never made it back up. And thankfully it wasn't pouring rain at the time. I'm still worried that I may have damaged my trailer bearings. 2) Signage, or lack thereof. Apparently "toodik" is native for "lost in the woods" because you will be hard pressed to find any sort of signs, and the map provided was drawn by a 5 year old and looks nothing like the actual grounds once there. 3) If you like mosquitoes, you're in luck. I've never in my life seen so many congregated in one area. They were so thick you could see dark clouds of them swarming. Judging by our many welts, they don't mind Deep Woods Off. 4) Watch out for extra fees! Things like bringing children or just arriving a little early. Also, cancellation fees are STEEP. A min of $25 for > 7 days, or $40 if less. For no shows, you lose the $40 AND they bill you the balance too. They are bloodsucking vampires not unlike their mosquitoes. 5) When I asked if they accepted Passport America, the lady's response was, "what's that?". 6) If you plan to go canoeing, be sure you bring a LOT of money. I grew up around this area and use to canoe as a kid all the time for almost nothing. American greed at it's best, a family of 4 will now set you back well over $100.
But don't let all of this deter you, they DID have a pool. - hojo70
Jun 2013 - $30.00
This campground was average. Their pool was small but it was as warm as bath water which we really enjoyed. They have a lot of activities. They even had a chocolate slip and slide for the kids; that was really awesome. Some people had really loud music playing behind us all night which was annoying. We would return again. - Ilove2camp
May 2013 - $40.00
We were pleased when driving in to the campground to find that it was very wooded. The grounds were well cared for and the landscaping was inviting. The campground had all gravel roads and most all of the sites were grass. We enjoyed having a grass site because our dogs tracked in less rocks and dirt. Had it been rainy during our stay, however, the grass site may have been less desirable (potential mud and tire ruts). We stayed at a site on the main hill. The sites near the front were fairly close together and we noticed several campers in large units having a difficult time maneuvering into their sites. There is one post with two spouts for water that two sites share, so if you are at an even numbered site you need a long water hose. The same applies for electricity. Farther back into the campground the sites were more spacious. There were also several sites along the river’s edge. These sites were very nice but were all booked when we reserved. They are the farthest out from the camp store and pool, however. For a more details visit: http://crazy4camping.com/campsite-reviews/ohio/camp-toodik-loudonville-oh/ - crazy4camping1
Aug 2015 - $1.00
This is a small campground but it is so very well maintained. The grounds are mowed and beautiful gardens have been planted it some areas. The campground is right on the Mohican river and it is so calm and restful we will be back again. They do accept Coast to Coast points so are stay had no charge. - Walter Pfiitze
Jul 2015 - $1.00
Update from our last review.
WiFi is now available on deck of the sales office. Grounds continue to get better with well cared for lawn and good shade in many sites. New power pedestals and water connections at some sites. Pool nice and clean.
Rating would be 9 if WiFi was indoor at the activity building or 10 if WiFi available at sites. - Tireman9
Oct 2014 - $10.00
The resort as they call it has 225 campsites, with only 5 full hook-ups, and these 5 are only 30 amps. Very litte gravel to set up rv on. All the campground roads are narrow with very little gravels. When it rains mud & mud puddles all over the place. We joined travel resorts of america at sycamore lodge. It is great an me were told the other 5 resorts were just as nice. What a lie.we have been to 3 now and all three are DUMPS ! We will not be back here. Would love to be able to get our money back. Buyer beware. - mylittledogs
Sep 2014 - $40.00
We camped mid-week for one night and were the only campers besides the seasonal occupants. Only a few spots available to overnighters--almost all seasonal in a very large campground. Many units have obviously been there a long time, and condition of seasonal rigs and sites was variable--some beautiful, many not so much. However, we had a nice view of the lake, the location was convenient for sightseeing in Amish country, and campground is very clean. Bathrooms are clean, showers are good. We thought campground was hard to find, and the access road almost discouraged us from entering. We would probably stay at the State Park when returning to this area. - Ftcollinscamper
Jun 2009 - $55.00
Great place! Clean, friendly staff, very kid friendly, wonderful experience and we will be back. It would be a 10 but the condition of the access road to the campground is terrible. - dilligaf1
Jul 2008 - $25.00
My family has been there on several of the busiest holidays and the owners are great. They have always done anything they could do to make our stay relaxing. The bathrooms and showers have been the cleanest I've seen. The addition of the pool was just one more plus in making this a great park. It truly is the nicest and cleanest park I have been to and we will definitely be going back. - MLZB
