Stayed for two nights. I didn't use the showers or laundry, but the bathrooms were clean. I liked how big the sites were. We stayed in site 42. The closeness of the northern sites that are parallel to the drive make backing into a site difficult. My site was level and paved with plenty of room. People drive too fast on the main road into the campground for the safety of little kids. The playground was very nice. We didn't use the pool but it looked nice. The fire rigs were very nice with a built in grill. Camp store / nature center was very close by. We camped at Mohican State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Typical of a state park with grassy and dirt sites, fairly level. Surprisingly quiet for a holiday week and fairly full. We only did an overnight while passing through. It was quite a distance off interstate so not convenient for one night. Staff was extra nice. We camped at Mohican State Park in a Motorhome.

We stay here when visiting Holmes County. Didn't have reservations, but found a site for 3 nights. Not the best, but not the worst either. If it had rained, the site would have been under water. Did some bike riding around park, but generally just relaxed. The park was BUSY and I think full to capacity all nights. Friendly staff, the RR were cleaned at least twice daily. Tubing was in full swing even though it was unseasonably cool. Very family oriented, but was quiet after sundown. We enjoy camping at this SP. We camped at Mohican State Park in a Tent Trailer.

Very narrow asphalt sites with grass between each one.

Outdated water and sewer connections. A wooden wedge was required to keep the spring loaded water valve open.

Laundry room was not clean. Appliances were old and rusty but the price to laundry was very reasonable. The location was beautiful. Campground had a playground and a pool. Satelite reception was spotty. We camped at Mohican State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Park is near Amish communities in Berlin and Millersburg which offered interesting things to do and see. There is a huge hardware store in Charm, OH which was a highlight for some as was visiting Lehman's in Kidron, OH.

Very clean, and we came at the right time of the year when the leaves were at their peak color. During the time we were there, they kept the grass mowed without being intrusive. We had a slight problem with our motorhome. We walked up to the office to say that we would not be able to leave before check out time. They were very understanding and even gave us a phone number to call to get some help. Will definitely be going back. We camped at Mohican State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

We purposely didn't bring a tow vehicle so that we would stay in one spot and just relax. However, we are from the area and know that the Amish Country is near and a great way to spend the day. Also, the park itself has a beautiful covered bridge and the surrounding area is like a Norman Rockwell picture.

This park is one of the most family friendly state parks. The pool, splash pad and play ground are top notch. Its hard to get sites at this campground in the summer and quickly sells out 6 months in advance. The ice cream shop is also a must stop. We camped at Mohican State Park in a Motorhome.

Pretty park, sites have nice separation but no privacy. Gravel pads with grass surface. We had a full hook up site (#60) which is really nice to have at a state park. It's also a back-in site with plenty of space behind the camper for kids to play. The "pullover" aka drive-through sites are cramped. Lots of tall, mature trees to provide shade. The surrounding hills make for pretty scenery. The park has a great swimming pool with a recently added splash pad and new, extensive playground equipment. The camp store has the basics along with a few extras like gem stone mining and inner tubes for sale to use on the adjacent river. The restrooms are typical state park- cement floors and cobwebs but the fixtures were clean and the soap dispenser was refilled. The shower houses could use some more frequent cleaning especially during heavy use. A couple of the shower houses also had laundry machines. Although the campground was full, we didn't feel overcrowded. There is an IGA in the nearby town along with a few fast food restaurants, Post Office, etc. Just outside the park are places you can rent canoes and an impressive looking high-ropes course. Our At&t phones had NO reception. We also had NO over the air TV stations and NO AM/FM radio stations. Total media blackout! The sites near the front of the park had weak signals. This is a pretty area of Ohio with rolling hills, dense forests, and picturesque farms along with a large Amish population. We camped at Mohican State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Beautiful state park. Our favorite place to camp when visiting Mohican/Amish area. Nice store and newly remodeled showerhouses with ceramic tile and fresh paint. Quite a big improvement from our stay last year. Site 90 is spacious and the fire ring is situated right on the river bank for a great view. Plenty of room for a screen house or canopy on this lot. The only bad thing is it tends to be a little muddy in rainy weather but the campground has attempted to fix this by laying straw down on the affected areas. This was a minor inconvenience to us and wouldn't deter us from booking this site again in the future. We camped at Mohican State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Downtown Loudonville has some nice little shops and restaurants to visit. A drive through the state park is a must to see the covered bridge and the gorge overlook. Breathtaking scenery and a beautiful drive, winding through the forest. Highly recommend this area.

We spent a very rainy weekend at the park, where we have stayed before. We had electric hook ups and the sites varied in depth. Our trailer (20') and pickup just fit on a rather narrow paved pad but there sites were roomy and ours was on the end of a circle next to the creek so it was very pretty. There is a pretty basic camp store in the park but it does serve coffee and some snacks. It is a pretty park but the campground was very full and at times the extra vehicles parked in/on sites made hauling through a bit tricky. There are parking lots for those vehicles but they weren't always observed while we were there. We camped at Mohican State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The Park is in Amish country and the charming little town of Loudonville nearby sells Amish made furniture. There is hiking and a playground in the park. Canoe rentals are nearby too. Malabar Farms State Park is 8 miles away and does tours.

Top notch State Park campground. Sites are large and fairly level. Some are full hookups but the sewer connections are strange. Made it work OK but not your typical hook up. Water and electric are both good. Most sites are fairly level. Paved roads and sites. Lots of shade but you can find sites that satellite will work. We had to set our tailgater across the street but got a solid signal Over the air TV is non existent. Verizon signal is just OK. 3G but our Wilson Amp got is up to one bar of 4G. Easy travel to the Amish areas. We reserved Site 144 on the creek but is probably the only site in the park that would not work with our 40' MH. Big trees prevented deploying our slides and awning and it sloped enough that we could not get level. Works fine for smaller rigs but not for a big rig. Friendly staff moved us to site 48 which is great!
I would stay here again or recommend it to a friend. We camped at Mohican State Park in a Motorhome.

This is a great campground. River sites are awesome, so much fun to go fishing or tubing. This pace has a great "camping" feel. Trails are great. Sites a little tight but I feel most places I've been are that way. This place is pretty packed all season but especially summer. If you don't book in advanced you probably won't be staying here. Bath Houses are 1980's There is not enough room to change and the floor is always wet because the shower curtains are too short. Spider webs and bugs all over, we were there for three days and no one cleaned the floor or bugs. Poor housekeeping!!. For a State park you'd think it would be better. You have to keep pushing the valve or the water shuts off. The park itself is nice and roomy and the store is very nice with fresh ice cream that they scoop out for $3.00. Great Deal. Spent 3 nights at this SP campground. Had an electric site. To our surprise the campground was not full (normal most times), but was starting to fill as we were leaving Friday at noon. We paid the Ohio senior rate (Sun-Thurs), plus a reservation fee, which was not necessary due to a lack of campers. Another pleasant surprise was the restroom condition. The sink counter had been replaced, new faucets, and motion detection devices were installed. Lights attract bugs at night and this equipment helped that issue. The park system still needs to install hooks around or near the sinks. We use this park as a base when we visit Holmes County. We like the campsites better than the parking lot campgrounds in Holmes County. It means driving 30 minutes, but it's worth the trouble. Caution if using RTE 3 from the south. The detour is not well marked and the detour takes you WAY out of the way. Use I-71 & Rte 97 instead or check the road construction reports before using Rte 3. We camped at Mohican State Park in a Tent Trailer.

This park is not one that takes Passport America so unless you have the Golden Buckeye discount or a disabled veteran this park is $38/night. It has cabins, FHU sites, and E only sites - we hiked to the covered bridge which is 4M one way from the campground. In the summer I would think the stream running thru the park would be fun with tubes - we passed several tub launch locations. Our site was short for our rig and was under a tree that dropped huge walnuts or nuts of some kind - had to sweep the top before closing slides. We would probably not stay here especially during the summer - seems high for what you get. OHIO parks & recreation should compare other states for pricing. Our site was covered in straw I guess because of the mud. We camped at Mohican State Park in a Fifth Wheel.
