This is a campground and a large skeet shooting range. Sound of the skeet guns not bothersome. Interior roads gravel, easy to navigate. We have stayed here before and the premium (blue) sites are very long. There are many types and sizes of sites so pull up a map of this campground before booking since some of the other types of sites are very small. The office closes early so call in the morning or early afternoon. Back-ins are easy though all areas of the park. Our site 404 was not level, but was satellite friendly. However, most sites seem level. Some of the utility runs can be on the long side, so extra hose/extensions may be needed. Sites that face the skeet range, would not book them. There are large grass areas to run rover. Wifi was not usable with park full on holiday weekend. Good Verizon and T-Mobile signals. Many sites sat. friendly but office staff does not seem to know which ones. Look at the park on google earth, then check it against campground map. Call ahead since they host events at the skeet range and the park can fill. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Restaurant near the campground very good. Laundry next to the restaurant very nice, but expensive. Only other food options in area are Taco Bell and Subway. Nearest Wall Mart is about 20 miles away. Nearest food store about 12 miles.

The first back in we were assigned was off level and no sat service so they moved us to a level and very good sat location. The back ins against the back wall of trees can be great or off level and very un sat friendly. Having said that this is a pretty interesting park. It does have section of pull thrus that looked very nice but they were full. If you have pets be aware this is a shooting sports center and that could be a problem if the noise bothers them. Would definitely come back again. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Motorhome.

I called the day before and asked for a full hookup pull through . Lady said no pull through available. She said all they had left was back in . That was OK as hubby is good at that. When we went to our site we found it was water and electricity only. It was on the gravel lot along the back where the shooting range is. There was a full hookup site right behind us in the regular park in the deluxe site area. We got there at a few minutes till 5 even though the clerk told me on the phone the office was open till 6, they closed as soon as we checked in . We were only there for one nite so just made the best of it. Ur Satellite , nor the antenna got any reception at our location . Evidently they have 3 categories of sites, basic (water and electricity only) Standard, and deluxe. This was not evident on their web site. The other areas of the campground especially the deluxe sites are huge , shaded, and very nice. We saw several vacant sites here but we're not offered one. We would have paid more had we known. Don't know about the restrooms as we did not see any. This is a huge park that has a trap shooting range. Be sure you ask before reserving what your site will be. I did ask for full hookup. Oh well. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Really good home style restaurant nearby. A little confusing finding the road behind the restaurant to the RV park.

Only negative comments are road noise, can't do anything about this, and they need better signage. I have stayed several times as I travel through and I still turn through a restaurant parking lot. The lots are huge and are all paved and very level. This is an outstanding travel campground. I will stay everytime I'm through the area. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Not a bad campground. Just off I-71 north of Columbus. Site 421 good sat. reception. Good Verizon service. Good campground wifi. Electric and water good. In looking at other sites in this area, not all the FHU's were in a good position for RV's some had long runs for elect. and water ask when calling about position of hookups. Sites level, gravel and enough grass for rover. Before coming to this campground call ahead. It is a place for skeet shooting (very large facility) and they host events, calling ahead to make sure they are not booked. Check in open just til 4 pm. most days. There was a sign that there were not check in's after 11:00 pm. There are a few different areas and types of campsites in this campground. It would be wise to pull up a map of the campground before showing up. Sounds of people shooting skeet were no problem. Some sound from I-71. They have made berms and planted trees to cut the noise. Noise may be a problem only in a few sites near the freeway. And as an odd note: we were here in Oct. and our site had a walnut tree that was dropping large nuts onto our RV and car. Was able to move to the rear of the site, but if you come here the second week of Oct. or so ask about the walnut trees. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Motorhome.

Good restaurant on approach road to campground. Also good place to do laundry, very excellent laundry facilities near the campground, as well as a wash for the cars and looked big enough for a rig.

Excellent campground. Reason for 9 instead of 10, closeness to Interstate. They have tried to reduce the noise by building berms and it does help. This is a park trying to take care of its patrons. I will stay here again. The space between sites is the largest I have ever seen outside a State park. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Most camp sites have 50 amp, water and many have sewer. I think there are about 500 sites.

They offer trap, skeet and sporting clays shooting, archery and international trap. Besides the shooting, they have a great heated indoor pool with great filtration equipment so it is always clean and filtered. Also GREAT wifi all through most of the park.

Don't try to get a spot here during the three big trapshoot events at the end of May, middle of June and August.

Other then that, it is a lovely place to camp. Playground area, horseshoes and cornhole. We have camped here for 10 years. Love this place. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Motorhome.

This is our favorite campground. It's very spacious where your not packed up against your next camper. It's quiet, they have a very nice pool and very nice people in the office. Anybody that is interested in finding a campground this is the one to check out. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

Home and field and there's a restaurant right in front of the campground if you want to go over to have a little breakfast, lunch or dinner. They also have a shooting range that is a small walking distance but it is nice to go see people shoot clay pigeons. It's so relaxing.

The campground had spacious sites, some trees, well maintained. Had an indoor pool, stocked fishing lake, basketball court, horseshoes, and corn hole all free of charge. No dog park but plenty of green spaces to walk the dog. We camped overnight in a 40' rig. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Motorhome.

Large campground, nicely maintained, lots of activities, basic to deluxe sites. The campground is next to and part of a large trap shooting range. A meet was scheduled the week following our visit. Don't know if the noise would be a problem during the day. Shooting is aimed away from the campground. Would stay again. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a really great place to camp, about 30 minutes out of Columbus. We stayed there to explore the city but found so many fun things to do right at the campground. It is part of a large shooting sports center but the noise was very minimal. The sites were large and some had more trees than others. They had full hookups and our was not one of the priemum ones but I liked it even better. The center has a wonderful large indoor heated pool, open year round, picnic tables and fire pits, with wood for sale. There is a good restaurant, laundrymat and even a car and Rv wash right next to the campground. Everything was very spread out. We really enjoyed our time here, even tried out hands at the trap shooting course. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed here for a week, as we explored the area. Nice campground, with some trees to provide shade. The sites that I have seen all have picnic tables and a fire ring. All of the hookups were easy to access and to hook up. Antenna TV worked well, and we got about 20 channels, including all of the major channels. Satellite TV was also good. Wi-Fi worked well however, we do use a Wi-Fi booster. The road into the park is paved, while the roads and most of the sites are gravel. There is one pull-thru that is concrete. The employees are friendly and helpful. We camped at Cardinal Center Campground in a Motorhome.

Go to Mansfield and see the old Ohio State Reformatory, where parts of The Shawshank Redemption and Air Force One were filmed. Columbus, the state capitol, is about 30 minutes away, and the Air Force Museum, near Dayton is about an hour and a half away.

We go to this park yearly for the Halloween party. This is a great park for being privately owned. The sites are largely spacious. The pool is indoor and huge and clean. The only downside is the noise from the interstate. Whether you need a site for the night, want a place to stay when visiting the Columbus area, or just want a personal vacation; this is a great place.
