Check in was good, staff is very helpful and cordial. We didn't read prior reviews before arriving so we did the "tour" through the private homes at Hilltop Rd. When heading south on 43 do not turn left at Hilltop as the GPS will direct you, continue south on 43 for about another mile and you will arrive at the campground. The park is tree covered but our site, D9 had sun to the southwest so we connected to satellite. T-mobile cell was good. The roads are gravel and easy to maneuver. A $4.00 charge for the use of AC is added to daily rate. We were there over the weekend so didn't hear the construction noise in the morning. The campground is clean and we would return if in the area. We camped at Cherokee Park Family Campground in a Motorhome.

First of all, to get to the campground, do not follow your GPS and turn into Hilltop Drive. It is a newer residential development and does not connect with the campground. A hundred or so yards past Hilltop is the entrance and it is well marked, so if you are driving south on Route 43, pass Hilltop and look for the sign and driveway on the left. This is an older park with a lot of seasonal units, many of them are in dire need of a good cleaning. I was a little hesitant when we first entered the CG...I guess I'm always looking for the neat and clean, but I didn't see too much of that here. But, the "sleep-ability" was good, until 6:30AM when the heavy equipment started in the gravel pit next door to the CG. I enjoy sleeping with the windows open, but this particular morning my alarm clock sounded mighty like back-up alarms. We did not use the facilities, so I can't comment on them. We camped at Cherokee Park Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Park mostly made up of permanents, however as a short-term camper, we were made to feel welcome. It is a beautiful location with a fishing lake, swimming hole, playground. It's a handy location from which to catch a ride on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic RR through the National Park. The only downer, which can't go on forever, is the constant grinding from 6:30 am to 4:30 pm of heavy machinery nearby operating in a sand and gravel pit. In spite of that annoyance, we would stay there again when in the area. We camped at Cherokee Park Family Campground in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad; Cuyahoga Valley National Park; several historical byways for a pleasant drive; probably a hour by interstate to Lake Erie locations.

Overall this is a nice park. The park is heavily treed (our satellite service did not work). A small lake is located in the middle of the park; the swimming area looked clean. The majority of the sites are seasonal, some are a tad run-down and are in need of a good cleaning. The pads, as well as the interior roads, are gravel. Foliage needs to be trimmed along the driveway. Our site was shaded with water and 50 amp service. It was odd in that the cost of a 50 amp site was $32. If you wanted to use your a/c it was an additional $2. We must have been on the outer edge as the wifi was non-existent. This is a good park for a one or two night stay; it's easy on and off I76. We stayed here for two nights in a 40' fifth wheel. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We camped at Cherokee Park Family Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Overall Rating:

The majority of the sites at this campground are seasonal. Some of them look a little rough. Overall, it is a fairly attractive park with a nice lake and lots of trees. The driveways and site pads are gravel. Some foliage should be trimmed along the driveways. We had a site with 50 amp electric and water. Sewer is available at a dump station. WiFi is available and worked pretty well. We were at the outer reaches for its range but when we used it while next to their pavilion it was very good. The restrooms and showers are somewhat rustic but were kept clean. We camped at Cherokee Park Family Campground in a Motorhome.
