So clean, everything was in place and kept up very well. Everything from the signs to the showers to the grass was so well kept. Warm friendly staff. There was a great pond with fish and small but nice lake for swimming. A bizillion stores about 4 miles away in Mt Vernon if you forgot something. Small number of lots but highly recommended campground. We camped at Rustic Knolls Campground in a Travel Trailer.Undo

Great park and we will definitely stay here again. Preferred access is via Pleasant Valley Rd which is paved almost all the way to Keys Rd. The unpaved section and Keys Rd are no problem. No sewer hookups for transients though some of the seasonal sites - all occupied - have sewer. Big rig sites are new with nice large concrete pads and gravel parking spots. Sites are mostly shaded and you may have trouble getting satellite from a stationary mounted dish. Should be OK with a movable dish however. There is no pool but a very nice swimming pond with dock and floating raft, sandy beach and bottom. There is also a catch and release fishing pond. Showers and bathroom are very clean though I couldn't get really warm water in the shower and they are the kind that requires you to push a button every 5 seconds to keep the water flowing. Sites are available for tenting and there are also a few new log cabins available for rent. There are some organized activities for children, a game room, basketball court and huge grassy areas for play. The park is carefully managed and meticulously maintained by the owners. Open approximately Apr 15 through Oct 15. We camped at Rustic Knolls Campground in a Motorhome.Undo

This is a permanent summer home for most residents - seasonals. Lots of trailers. Lots of trees. But the only RV park in Mt Vernon worth staying at. It is about 6 miles to downtown. Sites at the front of the park are used mostly for transients. Good 50 amp. Lots of elbow room. They don't have a sewer connection. TV via satellite is doubtful although I got reception on pad A5 by parking at the very front of the pad. Roads are not paved and are dusty. Pads are gravel. Don't take Keys Rd but take township road 362 west from highway 36 out of Mt Vernon. Keys is in very bad shape with lots of low limbs and big pot holes. It is only partly paved and is very dusty. The park is run by a second generation owner who is active in park management/maintenance and is very friendly. I would stay here again if I needed to be in Mt Vernon.
