Great family oriented campground. Friendly owners and clean facilities. Poor tv reception, but we don't go camping to watch tv. We can do that at home! We camped at Rustic Knolls Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This campground is very clean. All of the workers are very friendly and helpful. There are so many activities and things to do here! Wood cost $4 a single pile or $12 for 4 piles. It is very quiet here! The sites are extremely tight together in most of the park. They would probably be good for anything under 30 foot camper but we have 38 ft and are new to this whole camping thing so we have a heck of a time parking it. The little kids run around on bikes but have very good manners and are very quiet as well. The roads to get to it were somewhat hard to get the trailer through. I am not sure what would have happened if we had oncoming traffic. But overall- Nice campground! We camped at Rustic Knolls Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Rustic Knolls is a perfect quiet getaway. Their seasonal sites are nicely shaded and large. You've got room to spread out, plenty of privacy but not so much that you can't be neighborly. The owner is fun, the whole place is friendly and the facilities spotless. We camped at Rustic Knolls Campground in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed at Rustic Knoll Campground this weekend and it was fantastic! All the restrooms and showers were extremely clean. They had two ponds. The fishing pond was very well stocked. The swimming pond was clear to the point to where we could see the bottom. The owner went out of his way to make every guest feel welcome. We camp a lot and most campgrounds you only see the staff if you go to the office. The owner was always walking around checking on the facilities and talking to the guests. This weekend he hosted (and played) in a golf outing with the guests. I can't wait to see what other activities he has planned at the campground. We will definitely be going their again frequently. Rustic Knolls is one of the nicest campgrounds that we have ever visited. The bathhouse was clean and modern with awesome water pressure. There's lots of shade, because the campground was established in 1968. It has two lakes, one for swimming, and the other for fishing. We had no trouble at all with electric or water, and our site had a nice concrete pad. The gentleman that runs the campground was very friendly and accommodating. We will definitely stay here again, in our pop-up, if we are in the area. We camped at Rustic Knolls Campground in a Tent Trailer.

So clean, everything was in place and kept up very well. Everything from the signs to the showers to the grass was so well kept. Warm friendly staff. There was a great pond with fish and small but nice lake for swimming. A bizillion stores about 4 miles away in Mt Vernon if you forgot something. Small number of lots but highly recommended campground. We camped at Rustic Knolls Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Great park and we will definitely stay here again. Preferred access is via Pleasant Valley Rd which is paved almost all the way to Keys Rd. The unpaved section and Keys Rd are no problem. No sewer hookups for transients though some of the seasonal sites - all occupied - have sewer. Big rig sites are new with nice large concrete pads and gravel parking spots. Sites are mostly shaded and you may have trouble getting satellite from a stationary mounted dish. Should be OK with a movable dish however. There is no pool but a very nice swimming pond with dock and floating raft, sandy beach and bottom. There is also a catch and release fishing pond. Showers and bathroom are very clean though I couldn't get really warm water in the shower and they are the kind that requires you to push a button every 5 seconds to keep the water flowing. Sites are available for tenting and there are also a few new log cabins available for rent. There are some organized activities for children, a game room, basketball court and huge grassy areas for play. The park is carefully managed and meticulously maintained by the owners. Open approximately Apr 15 through Oct 15. We camped at Rustic Knolls Campground in a Motorhome.

This is a permanent summer home for most residents - seasonals. Lots of trailers. Lots of trees. But the only RV park in Mt Vernon worth staying at. It is about 6 miles to downtown. Sites at the front of the park are used mostly for transients. Good 50 amp. Lots of elbow room. They don't have a sewer connection. TV via satellite is doubtful although I got reception on pad A5 by parking at the very front of the pad. Roads are not paved and are dusty. Pads are gravel. Don't take Keys Rd but take township road 362 west from highway 36 out of Mt Vernon. Keys is in very bad shape with lots of low limbs and big pot holes. It is only partly paved and is very dusty. The park is run by a second generation owner who is active in park management/maintenance and is very friendly. I would stay here again if I needed to be in Mt Vernon. We camped at Rustic Knolls Campground in a Motorhome.
