A good place to spend a little time. Walking trails all paved, not very long, but you can hike to the beach. We camped at Maumee Bay State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Tips for other Campers:

The beach is just a 10 minute walk , but swimming in Lake Erie is NOT recommend because of algae blooms, however pond with a beach area is just a short walk, with all kinds on concessions.

Overall Rating:

A beautiful park, beach and campground with 256 paved level sites in 8 loops with electrical hookups. The grounds were very clean and spaced with a small patch of shrubs and small trees in between for privacy. There are at least 2 drinking water/grey water stations in each loop. Showers and bathrooms were very clean and there is a laundry in one of the loops. There is a small playground near each of the restroom/shower buildings. There is even a small pond with free fishing for kids. There is also a hotel and conference center on the beach side with a big parking lot and a permanent outdoor reception tent setup. Very scenic and would be a nice place for a wedding reception. We enjoyed several miles of shaded bicycle paths/walking trails through the woods and along the beach. We biked over to the boardwalk at the Nature Center and walked the 2 mile loop. Didn't see a lot of birds, but it could be nice during some times of the year. Although we stayed in Campsite#75, a sunny corner spot, the night was quiet. There was a nice grassy area to spread out the yoga mat and a picnic table. Fees were $28 Sunday - Thursday including electric, $29 Friday and Saturday, and $30 Holidays Friday thru Sunday. We paid only $14 each night with our 50% off Passport America. They also offer military discounts. We camped at Maumee Bay State Park in a Motorhome.

Very well maintained state park -- clean and manicured. Bike, hike, swim, it's all here. The Friends of Maumee Bay even had coffee and donuts in the shelter on Sat and Sun, plus an ice cream social Sat night. The only downside is that there is only 1 dump station for a 250+ campsite park. Lucky we stayed until Monday morning, so we did not have an issue dumping. Campsites were private and well laid out, with trees between the sites. Our loop backed up to an open meadow / woods. We camped at Maumee Bay State Park in a Motorhome.

We really liked the park. The campground was very nice and nicely kept. We are planning to return to this park soon. We enjoyed biking and walking in this park. It was not over crowed like some of the parks we have visited. We camped at Maumee Bay State Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here June 3rd for 4 nights. The layout is awesome! All back-in level sites. Electric at site only, but they have water. You can fill your fresh water tank before getting to your site. Signs telling you area for site numbers no guessing on where your site is. Friendly people- different activities every weekend. Family oriented activities. Bike trails- nature center - beach on Lake Erie. Spacious sites trees between most sites for privacy. Not sure the cost I stated?? Bathrooms and shower rooms immaculate. We camped at Maumee Bay State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed four nights and loved everything about this park (with the exception of no water/sewer on site). The park is very well planned and laid out. The sites are level and spacious with a good deal of privacy between most sites. Check-in was fast and friendly and there was plenty of signage to know where to fill up your water tank and for the sanitary dump station. We read how crazy it is to dump on most Sundays, so we had everything hooked up and ready to travel the night before, so we got to the dump station at 6:45 and had it all to ourselves. We loved all the bike trails and the great boardwalk! We saw lots of beautiful birds everywhere in the park and along the boardwalk, saw owls, muskrats and a few snakes, as well. Lake Erie was stirred up from recent storms, so the water was really brown, but we can't say enough nice things about the park itself! We had good AT&T 4G during our stay, but our brother-in-law, who camped next to us, couldn't get any AT&T 4G at all on their IPads. Would probably rate this park a 10 if they had water and sewer connections at the sites, but it was a minor inconvenience, especially since there were lots of gray water dumps with potable water available nearby for refilling the fresh water onboard tanks. Will definitely come back here if we're in the area again. We camped at Maumee Bay State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Maumee Bay State Park, Oregon, Ohio - 256 sites - electric sites with Passport America was $14 for the night on a weekday Sunday - Wednesday. What a beautiful State Park with beaches, golf course, fishing, amphitheater, bike path, hiking trail, laundry and horseshoes. Nice sites laid out in eight loops, electric, new bathhouses, sites are level and huge. Privacy is fair. Walk or bike to the beach. I have read great reviews on this park and it has lived up to those high ratings. Reservations are accepted but they still have some sites for walk ins. Only spent one night here but if in the area again we would stop and even stay a little longer. Check in was easy and the girl on duty was very nice and answered any questions we had. Worth a stop! We camped at Maumee Bay State Park in a Motorhome.

Overall Rating:

This is still one of my favorite Ohio state parks. First, the person who laid it out put curves in each of the spokes radiating from a central drive. This means that you can see only a few nearby campsites, even if there are 30+ on your spoke. Sites are also well-spaced apart and small trees and greenery give some privacy between sites. Sites are also wide enough to walk beside your RV without walking on the grass, which is important when it rains. The land here was farmland, quite a few decades ago, and has grown into a variety of ponds, wooded areas, and overgrown meadows--which is perfect bird habitat. In addition, while the campground is NOT directly on Lake Erie, it is close to the lake and on one of the major Eastern U.S. flyways from Canada. Birds fly over the lake and stop to rest and eat at this "birdy paradise" during spring and fall migration. The only problem I had in this campground were the really dumb female cardinals who insisted on bashing themselves against my windows all day long. I finally hung ribbons to deter them. The state park has some long bike trails that go to the hotel and nature center, and there is a 1.5 mile boardwalk through some prime habitat. Also, a full-sized golf course. Good Verizon service, as well. We camped at Maumee Bay State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

There are several birding activities scheduled in fall and spring, so check the park's calendar. There are also several other marsh areas nearby, and although I did not have time to visit any of them, they were highly recommended. One was Metzger Marsh and the other was Magee Marsh.

Overall Rating:

This is best State Park Campground we have visited in Ohio so far. The only thing that kept me from rating it a 10 is that they only have electric and no water/sewer. This is an extremely nice park with a marina and a lodge that includes a restaurant. The sites are spacious and well kept with natural screens between the sites. The camp hosts are friendly and do an excellent job maintaining an orderly exit on the busy Sunday mornings. The dump station is well maintained with waste and water hoses readily available to speed the process. We camped at Maumee Bay State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We decided to take a last-minute trip to Maumee Bay State Park to check out the campground and other park facilities in anticipation of an extended stay next summer. The campground only offers electric sites - no full hook-ups. This is our one and only (minor) issue. Otherwise our stay was perfect. Each site has its own park-like setting with plenty of grass, trees and space between. The sites all appeared to be level, expertly maintained and welcoming. Each area had an active camp host and we were greeted by several on walks and while bike riding. The bathrooms and showers were clean and centrally located. We would definitely recommend this campground and look forward to our next stay! We camped at Maumee Bay State Park in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Take your bikes! The campground adjoins Maumee Bay State Park. There are lovely hiking and multi-purpose trails connecting the two. The state park offers golf, tennis, two large beaches, a nature center, a lodge and conference center, and some spectacular views of Lake Erie.

Another very nice OH State Park. Level asphalt sites, but sites are 30Amp electric only. There was a water spigot close to us so we were able to run our hose over to fill up. There are also grey water dumping stations throughout the park. Would've given a 10 had they had water and sewer at the sites. They do have a dump station with hoses provided. They say there is a huge backup on Sunday, even having a sign showing if you are here you have a 30 minute wait. There are 2 lanes for dumping but this is a big park with lots of campers. This is a "resort" park with fishing ponds, swimming lake, also beach right on Lake Erie, lodge with a restaurant, cabins, tennis courts, paved and unpaved hiking and biking trails, even has a golf course. Lots of things to do in the park. We had a weak AT&T and Verizon signal. We were able to get satellite coverage. They do accept Passport America Sun-Wed or offer a 10% veterans discount. They have different rates ($27 for weekdays and $28 for weekends). We'd probably stay again if in the area. We camped at Maumee Bay State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We love staying here whenever we are in the area. Quiet and very private sites with plenty of grass.

Staff is terrific and always helpful.

Only issue is lack of water and sewer at sites. We just limit our stays to four days and use on board tanks. On holiday weekends the line to dump tanks can be very long, but sraff is there to keep things organized and moving. We camped at Maumee Bay State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We were here on a Thursday right before Labor Day weekend. Although we were told they were booked solid for the weekend, there was plenty of spaces on Thursday. This is a very nice park and we were glad to find it on our way home from Vermont. It is a little ways off I-90 but worth the trip. The spaces are all very spacious, ours was near a yurt and cabins and they were unoccupied so we had the total area to ourselves. The bike path was nearby and no one else was on it. We biked down to Lake Erie where there is a beach. There is some rugged areas there with rocks and the water looked deep and it was windy. I think children should always be accompanied by adults at this beach. The bike path lines around a few small ponds and some tree-lined areas and is very pleasant. We can't find anything to complain about at this park. We camped at Maumee Bay State Park in a Motorhome.
