Jan 2016 - $40.00
Everything about average. Sites were decent, seasonal campers were friendly. Roads were drivable. Staff was able to answer questions when needed - NE Ohio Camper
Aug 2012 - $25.00
Very quiet park. Very friendly staff. Wide range of sites available: from open area pull-throughs to shady seasonal sites. There is a fairly large number of seasonal campers, most units and sites appear to be very well maintained. Good TV signal via antenna and excellent Verizon cellular signal. Would definitely stay here again. - rjohnso3a
Aug 2012 - $25.00
We stayed one night on our way to NY. The grounds were neat and clean. The eight pull-through sites did not have sewer. There were bees inside the electric box when we hooked up. The 30 amp electric tripped when we ran the microwave and coffee pot in the morning. There were some low hanging branches on one side of the road going out. We would not stay here again. - D&R
Jun 2010 - $25.00
Traveling on the I-80 we needed an overnight spot and this was perfect. Beautifully kept large grassy park with a lake and facilities to large gatherings, spots for long-term visitors, and a large grassy field for pull through overnighters like us. Perfect. Lots of elbow room and a friendly staff. The owners are working to improve the park and decided to not sell it to developers and keep it as a park. What a good thing. The WiFi doesn't work on site but our Verizon phone worked good and satellite TV on the roof came through so we were happy. We were charged $25 but asked that if we used our AC to come back to the office and pay another $5. That was fair. We will certainly stay here again for a night or two if traveling though the area. - Bearpaw
Apr 2009 - $25.00
Lovely setting and friendly host. This was an excellent, quiet setting for an overnight stay in one of their pull thrus. The water and electricity functioned properly. We enjoyed our stay. - classy
Oct 2016 - $31.00
Super friendly staff/owner. The facilities were OK basic showers and restrooms.
This park has a lot of semi permanent residents who don't keep their sites the cleanest. The person who was in my site prior left pieces of lumber, flip flop and bits of trash everywhere.
Given the fact that the owner was super friendly I would stay here again. - ETCTA
Jun 2014 - $31.00
We had no problems with tight spaces, our pull through was long and wide. A very nice and friendly campground, will stay here again when in the area. - DRF
Sep 2012 - $25.00
We were caught in heavy rain, which slowed us to the point that we could not make it to our planned campground. We called Hubbard and they confirmed they had large, open, level spaces for a 40' motorhome. We arrived after dark and discovered this was a campground we had been to some 10 years earlier in our new 38' MH. We got stuck, the sites were so out of level our jacks would not level us enough to open slides and branches scratched the sides of our new MH. When I recognized the campground we left in a hurry. I wish they had been truthful about the condition of their campground. We spent the night at a nearby Flying J. - we_rv
Sep 2016 - $28.00
This is definitely an older park made up mostly of seasonal/permanent residents. We had reservations and were told the store wouldn't be open but they gave us a # to call. We got voicemail when we called so it took awhile to get checked in. The roads are narrow but we didn't have any problems getting to our site. There is little chance of getting satellite as it is fully covered with trees. Utilities worked well. The sites slope to the back so our front end was almost on the ground. Also it had evidently rained recently and there was some mud. Sites are gravel/dirt. Verizon and AT&T worked well. The grounds are kept up good. We were here over Labor Day weekend and it was packed with kids. There were about 3 cars at every site, so it was hard getting in and out of the park. They did have activities going on the whole weekend. Like I said, the park is older, but it is ok for a short stay. Residents were cordial. Other reviews mentioned the dragstrip...they had races going, but it wasn't that bad. Inside, we never heard them.+0\ - jacknpeg
Oct 2011 - $24.00
Rate is for 30 amp FHU back-in site. Roads are gravel, sites gravel or grass, in a heavy woods, with escort to site. No satellite reception, though Verizon cell and 3G were excellent. Campground is almost all seasonal campers. This is not a four star resort by any means, but it was more than adequate to serve as a home base while visiting in the area. The drag strip, Quaker City Raceway, that an earlier review commented on was here some 50 years ago when I lived in the area as a teenager, so it isn't likely going away anytime soon. We stayed during a time of heavy rains and they parked us on an older site with well packed gravel. The RV next to us sunk into the mud through the thin layer of new gravel on their site. We could stay here again if in the area, as long as we could get the same site. - Big Moose
Aug 2011 - $26.00
We arrived on a Friday for a two night stay. After checking in a man on a golf cart escorted us to our site. He help me back in and warned about the noise from the drag strip that was a mile away. The noise from the cars and motorcycles was annoying. It went on until after midnight. Saturday we were out and came back in the early afternoon. That noise from the drag strip went on all day until after midnight again. This is not the fault of the campground. This has driven a lot of seasonal campers away. The locals would like to shut the racetrack down. We asked for an activity sheet but they were out of them. They had a hay ride, corn roast and pot luck diner that we did not know about. They also had fireworks. This is an older campground and the buildings show it. The restrooms and showers need to be remodeled. The lake is nice for fishing or a small boat. We did not see anyone swimming even though they have an area roped off for swimming. - psrujak
Sep 2017 - $45.00
We were here for just one Saturday night. It was a pull thru site with full hookups, just lined up in a grassy field. No frills. Lots of families seem to like coming here, and it was okay for an overnight stop, but we wouldn't go out of our way to come back. - dbcordello
May 2017 - $45.00
Convenient to I-76, but not much road noise. Back-in sites are noisier. Lots of seasonals, but everyone seemed friendly enough. - VA Jim and Barbara
May 2017 - $55.00
Very friendly and secure, multiple things to do for the family. - Tcowboys
Sep 2018 - $30.00
If you love rules, you will love this park. Perhaps the first indication is a huge sign posted on the side of a building at the entrance: "GO SLOW OR GO AWAY!" There literally was a 5 MPH speed limit sign in front of every campsite. Most of the tenants were long term, but the grounds were clean and neat. Large signs beginning with "NO" listed rule after rule. They were posted everywhere. The family-run park is grass and gravel, with ancient bath houses and a pavilion which could all use an updating. Sites range from spacious to narrow. There are many tent sites in beautifully wooded areas. Our site was very close to our neighbor and not particularly level. - rfmscat
Jun 2018 - $34.00
We enjoyed our stay at Crawfords. It is a clean and quiet campground. Wifi is not very good. If you walk near the campground office it is. Our connectivity with TMobile was nil. The neighbors had Verizon with 3 bars. We have stayed multiple times, and would stay again. - gretzky
Aug 2016 - $30.00
On PA-51, about 6 miles from the Ohio border. Turn east/south at the blinking yellow light onto OH-168, Salem Church Road then about .8 mile, turn right on Hodgson Road, then .8 mile and left into the CG.
Weekly rate $170; monthly $380. No credit/debit cards accepted; cash or check only. All electric is metered, even for daily visits ($0.11/kwh). One employee who is very friendly and helpful. Municipal access roads are sufficiently wide, maintained, asphalt but lots of ups-and-downs. Watch for one low-hanging tree on Hodgson Road. Internal roads are gravel, somewhat narrow with no overhead obstacles.
A variety of sites which are grass/gravel with mowed lawns and occasional tall trees. A few sites have patios; most have picnic tables. All sites are FHU-20/30/50, level with pedestal at the road end of the sites. Sufficient clear sky for satellite antennas. No cable TV. Fires permitted in fire rings. Well water has low, but adequate pressure and okay taste. No office store. No propane sales. Restrooms/showers are old but clean with newer fixtures but minimal privacy (score "B-"). No laundry.
Spacious, grass playground. Very nice, unheated, salt water pool. No spa. Free Wi-Fi but internet access is weak and unreliable. Verizon coverage is dismal at "½ bar." CG is in the country and is very quiet. No recycling bins. - StephenK
Aug 2010 - $14.00
A nice, friendly, low key campground (the "Office" is in the managers golf cart). Back-in full hook-up sites around lake, but several wide open pull-thru sites with water and electric only, basically in an open field so plenty of room. Fair number of seasonal campers, mostly seniors. We arrived on Friday when they have a fish fry - delicious, large serving of fried whitefish and sides for $7.50 each! A bit off the interstate for an overnight, but not far from US 30. Passport America rate. No Wi-Fi, but Mi-Fi available in clubhouse, did not use it. - Dennis M
Sep 2017 - $39.00
Well maintained park with clean sites and grounds. Friendly staff escort to site and offered help if needed. This is among the best campgrounds we have ever stayed in. Everyone around us was friendly and having a good time. - Todd Fogelberg
May 2017 - $39.00
An O.K. park for an overnight stay, but nothing to write home about. Roads and campsite were pretty muddy, the shower/restroom facilities were temporary portable type buildings, looked like in need of an upgrade. Looked like more of a trailer park with permanent residents. - Colorado Vagabond
Sep 2016 - $45.00
Very friendly staff, good sites. Been back several times. - Dinger
Apr 2018 - $1.00
Unfortunately, this facility is closed "for the foreseeable future" due to a failure in the wastewater transmission system. The system can't handle the water to provide showers and toilets for campers, and keeping the area open could pose a health risk to campers. Officials are still trying to determine what the best course of action is to remedy the problem. The Corps could decide to either repair the system, or replace and modernize it. A spokesperson says if they deem it necessary to replace the system completely it could cost a minimum of $2 million. There is no estimate on how much it would cost to merely make repairs. Securing funding for either option would mean getting the support of national lawmakers. The Army Corps of Engineers would have to receive funding through a Congressional Budget line item. At this time, it's not known when the campground will be open again. - ShawnK
Aug 2009 - $10.00
Beautiful grounds with large lake for water sports. Very popular with local folks. Sites spacious, however, a number of motorhomes had wheels off the ground due to uneven ground. We could not get satellite pick-up due to many trees. Showers and bathrooms are old, and fairly clean. Would stay again, in a different site. Price reflects Senior Pass 50% discount. - RoadWarriors2
Jul 2018 - $59.00
This is a clean park but I can't say it is big rig friendly. The one pull thru was long enough but low hanging branches forced me to disconnect and ask for another site. The half mile long service road in is only wide enough for one vehicle and meeting a vehicle would be a serious headache for someone. There was minimum cell phone use and only 3 PBS channels. Our site was dirt and grass. - Michael47
Jul 2017 - $39.00
This park is very clean and beautifully kept in pine forest .We stayed here in 45' motorhome . our site was large under trees. We would stay here again - RHOWARD
Jun 2017 - $59.00
We stayed here upon the recommendations of friends. I prefer the State campgrounds of Pennsylvania (with at least water and electric). This campground had somewhat of that feel. It was quiet, had water, sewer, and electric and was clean. The camp sites were clean, as were the bathrooms. Our pad was cement, as a few of them were. Most of the sites looked level for the most part. Staff was friendly, and very willing to help and accommodate. Electric boxes had 20/30/50 amp connections. Water pressure was very good. The camp store had a lot of what you may have forgotten. Plenty of sights around the area to go see if you are into the outdoors. Beaver creek State Park had MILES of walking / hiking trails 4 miles away. We will go back! - Steverino
