We truly enjoyed our stay here. I felt it necessary to give our review due to many negative reviews about the park. We had plenty of room for our RV, tow vehicle and the towbar. No dog breed discrimination. All sites included a little patio with fire pit, table and chairs, along with an umbrella and even a 2 person rocking bench. I can not comment on the drainage, as it did not rain while we were there. We camped at Sandusky / Bayshore KOA in a Motorhome.

We selected this site without reading the reviews. I agree with all of the reviewers who found the sites very narrow, lots of perminant resisdence, lot of cabins. It appears this KOA caters more to cabin users than RVers. Was just here for 2 days visiting a friend in the area. When I return I will not use Sandusky Bayshore KOA. We camped at Sandusky / Bayshore KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

Stayed 3 nights in large RV to go to Cedar Point. This KOA is nested in a trailer park and it also has many seasonal campers. The sound of the train running constantly all night (right across main rd), combined with the horrible sulfur smells coming from the limestone quarry made it impossible to get a good night sleep even with all windows closed and air conditioner running. The staff was VERY helpful, ice cream was great, showers were clean. Sites were very tight. We visited East Harbor State Park - think we'll try that next time! We camped at Sandusky / Bayshore KOA in a Motorhome.

We only stayed one night. Restrooms were a little dirty but the camp was full of people and we got in late in the afternoon and left in the morning. The laundry room was clean. It rained that night and there were no outside lights on the bathrooms or laundry room. The sidewalk dips and I stepped into a huge mud puddle - totally soaked my shoes. No other way to retrieve my laundry but through the puddle in the dark. Maybe some outside lighting would be a good idea and fill in the hole. We camped at Sandusky / Bayshore KOA in a Motorhome.

Typical KOA these days with lots of permanent residents, older park, tight sites, outdated washer/dryer, nature trail a joke, constant train noise night and day, 2 pools both full of kids. Close to shopping and Cedar Point and that is the only reason to stay here. WIFI OK. We camped at Sandusky / Bayshore KOA in a Motorhome.

We were happy to get a space for Fri and Sat nite for our 45' big rig with short notice. The reviews are so mixed that we were a little skeptical but we were pleasantly surprised with the campground. We checked in soon after 12 to avoid any potential tight spots but campground was relatively sparse. The sites are narrow. Our site gave us plenty of room on our patio side but our slide out on the non-door side was hanging over a bit on our neighbor's patio. We apologized before hand. We were looking into the permanent trailers but our site was near the end of the row so it wasn't bad. There are tons of tents and there doesn't seem to be any rules on this. But it's a summer weekend, so kids (and there are a lot of them because of Cedar Point) are playing and people are enjoying their campsites, tents and all. Have to be a little flexible. No noise at nite. All the hookups are in the rear of the site. Wifi was good and ATT cell service was fine. Electric very good. I can see if you were sandwiched in some narrow site, it would not be pleasant. So the right site is important in this very large facility. We camped at Sandusky / Bayshore KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Ice cream is $1 a scoop on Sat nite. Sawmill Creek golf course is about 6 miles away and is a pleasant, playable resort course in great shape. DeMores Offshore Bar and Grill is nearby. It's an old restaurant and a little rough looking but the walleye and perch are great.

This campground is located within a mobile home park and has too many resident campers making the park look junky and seedy. In addition there were lots of camper cabins which appeared to attract some less than desirable visitors. The sites are very narrow and asphalt pads are pitted making it hard to place and level your camper. This was a last minute booking at a hefty price. The park served its purpose as our sleeping location while visiting the local attractions for a couple days but we won't be back. We camped at Sandusky / Bayshore KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Employees were not at all helpful and seemed to feel that we were taking up too much of their valuable time. Two pools--one well maintained (that everyone was swimming in) and one with green water (that was empty but open) Difficult to do laundry since the park staff took up most of the washers and dryers for cabin linens and cleaning rags. Lots of amenities for the kids. We camped at Sandusky / Bayshore KOA in a Travel Trailer.

Sites extremely small. Our neighbor who had a Trailer also pitched a large tent on our site! When escorted to our site - KOA personnel didn't even ask them to move it. We decided not to make waves because of possible retribution. Had some rain when we arrived - sites have no drainage so very muddy. Larger sites with cement patio's could not accommodate any RV's over 30'. Area surrounding entry and permanent site (is actually a mobile home park) is very run down and shady looking. Owners not investing back into the park/sites. Here for short 2 day stay - will definitely not be back. We camped at Sandusky / Bayshore KOA in a Fifth Wheel.

It was dirt, under construction, and smelled foul. Creepy feeling from permanent residents. Felt like a bad mobile home park, not a KOA.

They were happy to refund our $$ when we left, mere hours after pulling in. We camped at Sandusky / Bayshore KOA in a Motorhome.

This is a relatively big busy park in the summer. Most use this as a base for Cedar Point. There is allot to offer..but you are parked close together. There is a permanent section, that looks to be run down. Unfortunately, because of the size of my 45 foot RV, I had to park facing the permanent section. We camped at Sandusky / Bayshore KOA in a Motorhome.

We stayed two nights here. We were going to Cedar Point which is only 5 minutes away. Camp grounds were nice, lots of activities for the kids. We were there on weekdays so it wasn't too crowded. If you were there during a busy time it would feel crowded for sure. They allow 24 hour check in, which may be typical, however our first night there people checked in at 12:30am and proceeded to noisily set up their camp until after 2am. We have never experienced people setting up camp in the middle of the night right next to us. The campground was probably 25% full so they could have placed these late arrivers somewhere not near people who were trying to sleep. We camped at Sandusky / Bayshore KOA in a Tent.

The back half of the campground was underwater. We were put in a site that had several inches of standing water right below our RV door. We were moved into a drier site after discussing this with management, but the sites are so close that the slide out was inches from the picnic table of the site next to us. The cable was not working, but the Wi-Fi worked. Definitely not worth the price. There is also a train very close the campground that goes by frequently. We camped at Sandusky / Bayshore KOA in a Motorhome.

Camp sites were very narrow. There were a couple loose dogs on the grounds that were breeds not allowed at KOA campgrounds. Many campers were loud, and did not clean up cans, bottles and other garbage on their sites.

Managment was notified, but was unresponsive. We camped at Sandusky / Bayshore KOA in a Motorhome.

Just here overnight, but don't think that we would return. The only reason for that is that the sites are really, really narrow. Previous posters had said that, but I couldn't imagine that they were this narrow. Ours also had two trees at the entry, site 86, which could cause some problems. This site was also supposed to be satellite friendly, but the dome couldn't find a satellite after 10 minutes. Other than those complaints, there is nothing of substance to not recommend this place, It just isn't right for us. Staff was friendly, it's close to the end of their season, everything works well, just not right for us in the future. We camped at Sandusky / Bayshore KOA in a Motorhome.
