We stayed at Thompson KOA for only 1 night in a pull thru. We pulled in to check in and on the side of the fence was grapes growing! We were escorted to our site and the owner showed us some of the amenities in the area. Great Kamp K9 for the pooches too. Great WiFi. We took a walk to the well stocked camp store and sat and relaxed in a swing right beside the huge lake. We saw tee-pees and many cabins. They have the most amazing restrooms I have ever seen at a campground! They were immaculate and had character! They even have a doggy wash area. I wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the trails and the area. A bit off the beaten path but so worth it! This was one of our all time favorite campgrounds. We camped at Thompson / Grand River Valley KOA (formerly Heritage Hills Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Nice campground and staff. 20, 30 and 50 amp. Cable TV. Good Wifi. Good water pressure. I was in a new area that had a long pull through and spacious site. 2 sewer connections also for those that need it. Staff kept the campground clean. Nice place for an extended stay. We camped at Thompson / Grand River Valley KOA (formerly Heritage Hills Campgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

Used this campground as a base to go to Pro Football hall of fame in Canton, about 1 1/2 hrs away and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. Did both in one day leaving @ 7 AM for Canton and the afternoon in Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Many nice wineries in the area. We enjoyed dinner and wine, (beer available), at the Grand River Winery near the campground. A super Walmart in the small town of Madison not far away.

We actually stayed here twice, on the outbound and return legs of our trip. The first was planned, the second a last-minute change of plans due to weather. Both times the visit was pleasant and serene. On the second visit, a "computer error" put us in a new area of the campground that wasn't supposed to be open yet. The owner honored the online reservation, however, and personally escorted us to the site, and helped us set up. Gravel was still loose, needed final fill around sewer, etc. Leveling was slightly difficult, but I'm sure this would be fixed by the time the site was officially available. The brand-new bathrooms next door were sparkling clean. Yes, I would love to visit again. We camped at Thompson / Grand River Valley KOA (formerly Heritage Hills Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

As others have said, follow the GPS and use Mosely road, not the KOA sign. Cuts out almost all of the gravel road.

We are locals who stayed here during a family crisis. This is the kind of campground I would look for when I travel. The park was clean, the people friendly, the Wi-Fi better than a lot of parks we have stayed in. The park is some distance from I-90 but worth it. If you plan to explore the local Grand River Valley wineries this is a great place to base your exploration. If the park has one drawback it is the gravel road you need to take to reach it. But that isn't the fault of the owners and by using Mosely Rd to get to Ledge Rd you can cut down on the amount of gravel road traveled. We camped at Thompson / Grand River Valley KOA (formerly Heritage Hills Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

We stopped here on an overnight to southern Ohio. It's about a 5 mile drive off I-90. The hosts are very friendly and have a great personality - very fun to chat with. The campground is in excellent shape. Very modern, clean and visually appealing.

Cable TV is going to be installed within the next couple of weeks. Golf cart rentals are available at the office. This is the first park I've seen do this but wished they all did.

The park looks like it has a lot to offer as far as recreation and activities. Very nice fire rings are at every site. Our site was very level and it looks like they all were. There were some nicely shaded sites.

The Wi-Fi we found to be very spotty. We would have to reconnect to a different available network at times and the speed was not all that impressive. Cell service (Verizon) was LTE in some spots and 3G in others. We camped at Thompson / Grand River Valley KOA (formerly Heritage Hills Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

This is a new KOA but the park has been around for several years. It was an easy 4 miles off Hwy 90 although the last mile is a mixed gravel and asphalt but no real big deal - you are in the country!
The park is exceptionally well-maintained with a lovely lake in the center. Everything was spic and span clean and tidy, the on-site owners very nice and helpful. Wifi worked just fine, the site was level - no complaints. Although we just stayed overnight, there seemed to be plenty of amenities for the whole family. Lots of seasonal campers - all who kept their sites is great condition. We'd come back in a heartbeat! Spent 3 days at Thompson/Grand River Valley KOA. One of the best KOAs that my wife and I have stayed in. Extremely helpful and friendly staff. The longest pull thru sites I have ever seen. Sunday church services on campground and full size tepees that will sleep up to a family of 5. Would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend to family and friends. Check it out!! I would give this park a better rating except that I am sitting here listening to loud music from the campers across the street who not only play their hip-hop loud but also have disco lights emanating from their stereo. The site is difficult to level with air only leveling as it is not level front to back. We are on site G11 and if your sat dish is in the rear of your coach you will get satellite but if it is in the front you won't. Also, trust your GPS when you tell it to skip gravel roads. If you follow the campground signs you get 2 miles of rough gravel roads. So if you don't mind an out of level, party campground, you will enjoy it here. Camped here for 3 days. Located in a rural area away from freeway noise. All gravel interior roads and gravel site pads. We had a spacious pull through site with full hookups, picnic table and fire ring. Majority of sites are seasonal. Campground has an office/store, swimming pool, pavilion, two ponds, catch and release, and many areas to walk, modern playground, large play field. All grass was mowed and no trash. Gated entrance. The owners purchased this campground three seasons ago and have made many improvements; upgraded all power and water and sewer system, added one two station restroom (sink, toilet, and shower). Plans to replace the old, original shower house, soon. The original shower house needs to be replaced, but we used the showers in the new two station building. We will stay here again, when we are in the area. We camped at Thompson / Grand River Valley KOA (formerly Heritage Hills Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Like some others recommend. From Interstate 90, drive all the way down to Thompson on paved 528, all the way around the town square to pick up county 7 going east to Ledge Road, and go north on Ledge Road about one mile to the campground, on gravel.

This park has some real potential. Clean spacious and it appears the owners are really committed to making this a great park. The only issues were there is no cable and the TV Antenna could not pick up local prime channels and the WIFI wasn't dependable. So, for 4 days I lost touch with what was happening (maybe that was a good thing). It was easy access for a big rig however our space faced south so we got the hot afternoon sun. We spent a week here with our grandchildren around the corner a few spaces away. Can be a beautiful place if the friendly and relatively new owners get it updated. Pool is brand new and very nice. Lots of shade trees and playground area, which, by the way, needs some updating. Having said that, this CG has very few available sites for travelers. 20 or so. CG is LOADED with something like 110 seasonal RVs. Without the grandkids close by, I doubt we would have enjoyed our stay too much. We have been staying in campgrounds in the U.S. and Canada for the past month and this campground has been a pure pleasure. We stayed here for 5 nights while visiting family. Campgrounds in this area are few and far between so this was a lucky find. It is about 5 miles off I-90 and the last mile is a dirt road but not much of an issue for us. It is under new ownership the past two years and they have made great improvements. The grounds are spacious and well-maintained with plenty of room between sites. They have community activities within the park on a daily basis as there are many full-timers here. They drive around at night to enforce quiet hours if needed and are wonderful owners. There is free Wi-Fi near the office, otherwise it is a paid service for $2.50 a day. It was slow on the weekend when the park was full but the rest of the week it was great. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Thompson / Grand River Valley KOA (formerly Heritage Hills Campgrounds in a Motorhome.

Came for the Fourth of July festivities. Great fun, and was glad to see new owners continued the fireworks show. It is really great! Only complaint was the constant traffic of cars speeding, yes, speeding! Even the golf carts fly around. Apparently no one enforces the 5 mph limit. Several times I had to jump away or get run over. I was afraid to walk to the bathhouse at night for fear of being run over. Otherwise it's a nice park, that is being updated. I could give this park a much higher score if a couple improvements were made. The bathrooms are disgusting and covered in cobwebs. With that many people they need to clean them more often. There was plenty to keep kids busy, but would have liked to have something like putt-putt where parents could participate with kids. All in all, its a great park, and since the owners seem to be updated it more each year, I'm sure it'll be a "10" park before long. We camped at Thompson / Grand River Valley KOA (formerly Heritage Hills Campgrounds in a Fifth Wheel.
