This is a beautiful little family-run park. The roads are nicely maintained gravel. Our site had a concrete pad and large patio with table and chairs, bbq, and fire pit. The owners are very friendly and attentive to guests. The grounds are beautifully maintained, and the owner spends his day on maintenance of the park. We would definitely stay here again. We camped at Wapakoneta KOA in a Motorhome.

This was an overnight stop on our way home. More than adequate for one night. Pull through sites were a bit narrow but we did not have to unhook. The biggest negative is the sewer connection is at the rear of the site. We could not connect using 20 feet of sewer hose. Had to carefully back up in the morning until we reached. Nice pool which was refreshing after a day on the road. Friendly staff, clean bath house, on site pizza and wings. We would stay again. We camped at Wapakoneta KOA in a Motorhome.

Nice, small park right off the freeway surrounded by cornfields. There is quite a bit of noise from the freeway, a huge truck stop, and a busy rail line nearby. We have stayed here before and like that it's just 5 minutes off the road. We camped at Wapakoneta KOA in a Motorhome.

When we checked in the man there was rude to me because 'some idiot keeps calling and hanging up'. Then made a rude comment to my husband. He put us in the back, by the bathrooms and away from all the other RV's which I was glad about - but what I wasn't told by him was that we were right next to the interstate and some trucking company that had trucks backing up beeping from about 10:30 - 11:30 or so. VERY NOISY even in our motorhome. When I went to use the showers there was globs of hair on the drains and floors. Wasn't impressed at all with the showers or restrooms. We camped at Wapakoneta KOA in a Motorhome.

Date of Stay: July, 2017 - $50.00
Overall Rating:

Easy access from I-75. Check-in was friendly and quick. Park neat & appeared well cared for. Escort to site. Easy to maneuver interior roads. Interior pull through sites were typical "KOA close" but many had shade. Perimeter sites had a bit more room. We paid a higher price for a roomier site. Price listed reflects 10% KOA card discount. Pad was level, crushed stone/gravel with a cement patio, fhu, cable, picnic table & fire ring at rear of site. A small patch of grass was in front of our patio; the rear & side-rear had plenty of grass. There was also a crushed stone/gravel parking pad for our toad beside the patio. Several types/sizes of cabins available for rent.

Verizon service was good and, surprisingly, Wi-Fi was good too.

Proximity to I-75 lent to constant interstate noise, but it was not bothersome to us. Train whistles could be heard from distant tracks, but also not bothersome.

Campstore had RV supplies, clothing, ice cream, ice and a few food/drink items. They have a small deli where one can order food they will deliver to your site. Can also fill propane tanks there. Next door was a screened-in meeting room with tables & a couple games. Plenty for kids to do with sluice for finding "gems" & "dinosaur bones" ( after buying the bags of dirt at the campstore), playground, horseshoes, basketball court, mini-golf (looked a bit tired - could use an update), pool...etc.

A severe thunderstorm came through with wind, rain and hail. Although we lost power it was not off for more than a few minutes. Many of the interior sites were flooded for several hours but all was dry by morning.

I would recommend this park for anyone traveling to or through the area. We camped at Wapakoneta KOA in a Motorhome.

Tips for other Campers:

Visit The Neil Armstrong Air and Space Museum. For a nice dinner go to Marley's. For a more casual/eclectic lunch/dinner, try J. Maries (happy hour with half priced drinks 2-5P Sundays) or sports themed Woody's Diner. Drive 2o minutes to Lima to bike the Lima Rotary Riverwalk.

The rate reflects a KOA Card discount, and is for a standard pull through full hookup w/50 amp. Be aware that the standard pull through sites are VERY narrow, and if someone occupies the adjacent sites there is barely room to extend slides. Each site has a picnic table on a wood platform and firepit, however if you use the picnic table and have an adjacent site neighbor, you'll be sitting right alongside his camper. The same goes for use of the firepit. This KOA does have sites at the end of the pull through rows that are much more spacious but there is an approximate $5/night up charge for these sites. Also be aware that the two rows of pull through sites will require some leveling as they slope quite a bit front to back. The back in sites located along the south and north side of the park are also quite a bit more spacious and more level, if you don't mind backing in. Having said the above, this KOA is quite a bit nicer than many KOA's in that the road ways are clean gravel (no dirt roadways) and the park layout allows good access to all the sites. The remainder of the park surface is nice manicured lawns/grass. Good AT&T and Verizon service and Satellite access good at most of the sites. Interstate I-75 is to the west of the park, but there is a substantial tree buffer between the highway and the park, and there was no objectionable highway noise in the park. We camped at Wapakoneta KOA in a Motorhome.

KOA 10% discount for a gravel pull-through site with FHU and 50 amps. There was a wood deck adjacent to the pad with a picnic table. We had good Verizon cell/internet reception and had good DishTV satellite reception. The park's WiFi worked well. The parks interior roads are narrow, but easily navigated. The park is near I75 and has road noise, but it did not bother us. This KOA is good for an overnight stop and we would stay here again. We camped at Wapakoneta KOA in a Motorhome.

Level sites are close together but have decent amount of yard. Tiny dog park for tiny dogs. It's not so good for larger dogs but there's a big field to play Frisbee. Great shower/bathhouses with good pressure & hot water. Friendly staff, love the lil cafe- ordered a personal pizza for quick dinner & delivered to site in 15 mins. WiFi service works great too. Will definitely consider coming back. Next to Interstate but far enough that it's just a quiet white noise distraction. We camped at Wapakoneta KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We stayed 1 night in a pull thru site, it was gravel and level. wooden deck and picnic table, all hookups worked well and well placed. Ordered food and it was delivered to our site, food and price were very good. Staff was very accommodating and the service was excellent, cable had 100 channels, wi-fi worked well. We would stay here again. We camped at Wapakoneta KOA in a Travel Trailer.

We found the campground in the Atlas; phone number but no name or address. Directions from Rachelle at the park put us on the wrong side of I-75. After we called back for a correct address for the GPS a drive through narrow streets in town got us to the park. Entrance drive is narrow with a steep grade down from Cemetery Road into the park. 3 mph entry causes extreme movement inside the coach. Park spaces are narrow with 12 foot gravel driveways between wooden platforms with picnic benches adjacent to the gravel drive. It was necessary to put a driver in our towed vehicle to steer away from the platform on the inside of the turn coming into the space although the coach was at the extreme outside of the turn entering the space. Mature shade trees are close enough to the driveways to limit where you can be in a space and still open the slides. The young man with the guide cart provides no assistance other than pointing at your parking space. Fire rings 2 to 3 feet both sides of drive way at extreme end of drive. We camped at Wapakoneta KOA in a Motorhome.

Easy access from I-75. Sites are fairly level gravel sites with wood patios and picnic tables. Ours was long enough that we did not have to unhook the toad. Wifi was good, although you can only have 1 code per person so we could not use our iPads as well as our laptops. That's OK, though. The only real problem was the very close train. It woke us up a couple of times during the night. However, this is fine for an overnight and we would return if traveling through this area again. We camped at Wapakoneta KOA in a Motorhome.

Fairly easy to reach from I-75. Entrance driveway and the internal gravel roads are little narrow but manageable. You drive past the pull thru sites en route to the office and have to backtrack to the pull thru sites once you've paid. Luckily, we had a knowledgeable escort. The clerk at check in was friendly and gave me a choice of sites. The office has pizza, wings, etc. for sale, but we didn't partake. Other supplies and brochures available.

The gravel pull thrus, as mentioned by someone in a previous review, are long and level but narrow. Not terrible for an overnight. Our spot was shady which was welcome given the heat. Some sites had no trees, and some seemed wider than ours. Picnic tables "conveniently " located next to sewer connections. Fire rings were well placed, not too close to the rv. We didn't notice road noise, but we had air conditioners running.

I'm past the tent camping stage, but the tent spots looked great with good spacing and grassy area.

Plenty to do at this campground. Very family oriented. Many well-behaved kids having fun outside which is refreshing to see. The pool looked inviting as did the playground and sports offerings.

Digital cable had many channels but no guide. Great picture. Wifi was ok.

KOAs generally disappoint, but this one didn't. It's the best one we've tried. Owners/ managers seem to take pride in their facility and actually offer something for the money. Plus, they seem to keep it clean and trim. We camped at Wapakoneta KOA in a Motorhome.

We needed a place for 3 weeks and found this site. We had no idea of what was available in this small town of western Ohio. Kudos to the owners who work very hard to keep everything clean. Restrooms, laundry room, sites. Couldn't have been happier. The owners really try to accommodate and go over and above. They even have and deliver hot food and it was good! All the necessary needs at their store. Would not hesitate to recommend. We camped at Wapakoneta KOA in a Motorhome.
