Paved roads. Very large sites. Multiple loops, some with lots of trees and some with very few trees/shade. Lots of water spigots so even though water hookup not provided at each spot, you're generally within 100ft so you can run a hose and refill your fresh water tank. Quiet at night. Lots of good hiking nearby (you'll have to drive to the other side of the lake...or the other end of the park which is about 8 miles away). Some of the best shades sites are walkup only so those can't be reserved. Got prolly 2 inches of rain in the afternoon and the site drained well...no standing water. Several dump stations throughout the park too so the lines don't get to long on Sunday morning. We camped at Caesar Creek State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

Beautiful park, nice paved entry roads, green grass and nice trees. The only problem I had was that I was told my site had water at it but they failed to tell me it was a community spigot with kids playing in the water and everyone washing dishes there and not carrying water back to their site. Muddy mess near my site. Also the bath house had chronic leaked with water running under door. Would have thought for the price I would have my own water at my site. Mud was covering part of my paved pad. Picnic table was a little beat up. We camped at Caesar Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Several sections of this state park are reserved, we came in without and were told to find a suitable site in the 1st come 1st serve area and then return to register. We arrived mid-week and many sites were available but it looks like this might be a popular place on weekends. All sites in this section were W/E back-in sites. Ours was shady but most were in mid-day sun. The sites are well spaced and the grassy areas are well maintained. The paved parking surface was wide enough for the RV, but in rainy weather, you have to walk on the grass/dirt (mud). We camped at Caesar Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Our 4 day stay was interrupted by some heavy rain for 2 days but we had a great time regardless. Our site was mostly shady, very spacious between sites, and level. Being at the end of a loop was great as we had woods behind us and no one on the other side of the road. The restrooms were not very clean or updated. We hiked several trails. Took a short drive to Wilmington and saw a movie during one of the rainy evenings. Waynesville has some great shops and a couple restaurants. We camped at Caesar Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We arrived at this state park on a Monday and were able to choose from many sites. There is a walk in loop, as well as the online reservable sites loops (I would recommend driving around because there are some very nice, private sites in some of these loops). The sites were asphalt and some were level so we didn't have to put pads down. On our site, walk in #7, we were able to put our dish up. Bathrooms and showers were grimy and sticky but had good pressure and hot water. Water spigots are available along the campground roads to fill up tanks. Verizon signal good here. We camped at Caesar Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Close to Interstate 71. Campsites have a very narrow and short 40 foot paved parking area. If your trailer is over 30 feet, you will have to unhook and park your tow vehicle elsewhere. Electric hookup is 30 amp service. Utilities located at end of site. No water hookups. Sites are mostly flat, ours required no leveling. Lots of space between sites, plenty of grass and a few trees. Staff at check in are friendly, but not Rangers and they are not knowledgeable about RV's and camping. We camped at Caesar Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.

The park is very clean and manicured, but the buildings are in pretty rough shape.

Maybe I got spoiled by the parks I camped in down south, but I was really surprised at how small and close the spots were, and how little seclusion they had. My spot was so short I *had* to unhitch and park the truck sideways at the mouth of the pad (and my trailer is under 28').

The pad itself is *very* narrow and, sloped steeply to the back and a little to the right. I'm lucky my wheel chocks finally grabbed because the trailer slid back almost two inches after I unhitched.

You can tell they tried to renovate the buildings a decade or so ago, but the maintenance since then has been sloppy at best. In the bathroom the metal doors are rusted and missing handles, and the concrete at the showers is starting to fall apart. When they repainted they didn't care if they slopped paint all over the place.

I got 30 amp service, and they had dump stations, but there is no obvious source of drinkable water. Cell service was fine, but there is no wifi or other amenities.

The campground wasn't expensive, so I can't complain too much. There is plenty to do at Caesar Creek, and lots of attractions are nearby, so maybe you won't be spending a lot of time at the campground. We camped at Caesar Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.

Site 268. We enjoyed our site location. Sad the ash trees were cut down. Lots of sun during the day. We did however take issue with the bathrooms. Being a state park we expected better but were sadly disappointed. Very old and rusty shower facilities. Unusable in our option. A beautiful park that has so much to offer should spend some money on upgrading the amenities. Just our opinion. We camped at Caesar Creek State Park in a Travel Trailer.

We originally booked site 164 but when we arrived we found a large mud hole covering the left side of the site (camper door side). It had rined the day before. Moved to site 189. Most of the sites are large enough, but there are very few trees. Sites are lined up like piano keys; none have a view of the lake. Bathrooms really need updating. The showers have metal dividers that have rusted at the bottom. This CG is good for a stopover, but not as a destination campsite. We camped at Caesar Creek State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed here during spring break 2016. This is a big beautiful park and the sites are well spaced. The roads were wide and easy to navigate. The grounds were well maintained and the site was perfectly level. There was no potable water at the dump station but that may have been due to the early season. But there was a water hookup near our site but we didn't use it assuming there would be water at the dump station. We were able to check out a few of the well marked hiking trails. We stayed here since it was a reasonable distance from the National Air museum. We would stay here again. We camped at Caesar Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

We stayed here for 2 nights in an RV. The park has lots of space between sites, which we loved. Hiking trails and paved roads throughout for the kids to ride their bikes on. They do not have much of a store - no firewood is sold there, so make sure to get some before entering the campground. I did not go in the bathhouses but my kids checked them out and wouldn't use them. Very relaxing place to stay overall! We camped at Caesar Creek State Park in a Motorhome.

Nice spacious sites. Sadly, part of the park has been affected by the ash borer and trees are sparse. The south side of the park looks drastically different because it still has its trees. Bathrooms/showers clean but in need of significant updating. Our stay was very pleasant and this State Park makes our "Worth a 2nd visit" list. Being so close to our home, this is our 'go to' place for a quick weekend trip. We don't use the beach/lake area; however, it seems to be quite popular. We love to ride our bicycles and run...this campground is perfect for both with the nicely paved (and wide) roads. Also several well-maintained hiking trails.

There are three full-hookup sites. We've stayed at one of these sites twice and they're certainly ideal for campers with large families requiring unlimited water/sewer usage. Being just the two of us, we actually prefer one of the more private (and wooded) sites toward the back of the campground. Our favorite spring and fall site is 115 - though the lack of shade doesn't make it great for a summer stay. We camped at Caesar Creek State Park in a Fifth Wheel.

We stayed for two nights and despite the large number of reservations, there were not that many other campers in the park. The facilities were well used and showing their age, but mostly clean. Our electrical hookup had some issue – one half of the 15amp duplex outlet was damaged (not uncommon I suppose) but the other worked just fine. In the past, the park has had issues with power supply, especially during the hotter months of the year, but they recently removed electrical service from a number of sites and improved the wiring – we had no issues at all with it while we were there. The grass around our spot was well maintained (not too tall, etc.) and there was a decent amount of space between us and our neighbors, although there was nothing to block the view between spots (not that big of a deal to us, but some people don’t like that.) There was also plenty of room to setup equipment on either side of the space, play games, etc. The fire pit was in good shape and was not overly filled with trash or ashes from previous campers. The parking space, as well as the park roads, well paved, but were showing a good deal of use (and abuse), although nothing that would cause an issue – no potholes, etc., just a lot of cracks and rough edges. Ours was completely level, which was nice, and from what I could see all the others were like this as well. All of the spots where we were were were pull in – back out, but there could be pull-through spots elsewhere in another loop. We did not have an issue with this since our camper is a van conversion and fairly easy to maneuver. The bathrooms were clean and in reasonably good condition, although the showers looked fairly old and were showing a lot of rust in places. The bathroom nearest us had a fair number of facilities (showers, toilets, sinks, etc.) but I can see people queuing up if the park were full. The park sold wood, but we did not buy any so I’m not certain how much they charged. There were numerous locations to get water (but no hook-ups in our loop), to manually dump waste water (buckets, etc.) and trash. The staff were all friendly and courteous at all times and we never saw any trash or litter of any kind on the ground while we were there, in any part of the park, but we never saw more than two park employees the whole time (and no camp host.) There were some small trails between the loops and a short trail that led to a large lake (the main attraction in this area), but little else to do in the park itself. We did visit a nearby park to do some hiking (Caesar Creek Gorge) and there is a very quaint little town just down the road from the park that is well worth a visit. If you like to bicycle there is a rails-to-trails path just outside the park that is also very, very nice. We enjoyed our stay, but I’m not sure if this is a park that we would go back to unless it was along our path on a longer trip and we just needed to stay overnight. We camped at Caesar Creek State Park in a Motorhome.
