This park has the opportunity to be a great park. Sadly the owner is rude and talks down to women. The bathrooms were nasty. Looked like they had not been cleaned in months. Large shower house but was told it was not open for the season yet. Women's shower was one small stall with no changing area. Curtain moved when anyone opened door. Any one walking by could see into the shower. Had to ask for toilet paper (was told look in other stalls). Some sites were so small that if extending your awning it will almost touched the next camper. Electrical was sketchy. Our TT plug had damage to plug from electrical provided. Some sites have above ground sewer pipes. The PVC piping sits anywhere from 1 ft to 2 ft above the ground and then the pipe is placed on blocks for 10 to 20 feet where it then connects with other sewer lines. Play ground is a joke. Broken and needing major repairs. Lodge? This was the game room? Was only opened for one day out of our week stay. The pool table and air hockey were the only ones that were usable. Ping pong had no balls, foosball had no balls, skeetball had no balls. Overall the lodge/game room was a joke. Would not recommend this CG . We camped at Frontier Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Frontier Campground has a lot of potential and the owner is working toward making improvements. This park is tucked away in the quiet of the country and while there are no actual hiking trails within the park, it bumps up against a large wildlife area that has a public lake for fishing and trails for hiking and biking. The sites and interior roads are gravel, trees are trimmed and make for easy movement. All sites, both back-in and pull through, were naturally shaded with mature trees, but we were still able to get satellite coverage. Most sites had a picnic table, fire ring, and either a gravel or concrete patio. All sites are full hook-ups ( offers both 30 & 50 amp) and utilities were in good working order. I used the laundry room and while small (2 washers/2 dryers), it was in good working order. An added convenience is the onsite propane station. Now the "potential" part. In addition to RV sites, the park offers log cabins, a swimming pool, Clubhouse, basketball court, and a cute little playground - all of which could use some tender loving care to bring them back up to what I am sure once were great little attractions. We camped at Frontier Campground in a Fifth Wheel.

Tips for other Campers:

When in the Dayton area, the Air Force Museum is a must see. There are exhibits full of great history and airplanes from different eras: starting with the Wright brother's, then onto World War I and II, the Korean and Vietnam War, the Cold War, Current Operations, Space, and Air Force One planes that you actually get to walk into. The Bob Hope and Missile Galleries were fantastic. Do yourself a favor, and spend some time there. The museum and parking are free.

Sites are level and gravel with a lot of shade, sites are close together but enough room for slide outs....some sites have small patios and there are some permanent campers but there was no problems...we have a 36' motor home and had no problems getting around but this could be an issue when the park is full with a lot of vehicles...the owner was very friendly and helpful...they had free wifi but we never did get connected, but phone service was great, we have at&t...we picked up about 30 tv channels so that is a plus....pet friendly, nice playground for kids, pool...the main shower house was closed for season but there was 2 other main restrooms, men and women with flush toilets and one shower stall that was clean with plenty of hot water...loved the area and would return... We camped at Frontier Campground in a Motorhome.

This place is not what the photos make it seem to be. The lots are tiny by length and width and the lot of grass as wide as a trailer. You will be looking into your neighbor's camper. Spider webs all over the showers showed they hadn't been cleaned in a long time. We were given a corner lot that barely fit a trailer, then the fire pit is 1 foot by the road! Camper was four feet in other direction. The park attendant kept trying to back out of demands to be moved even though there were empty lots. He had agreed to move us over the phone, then in person says 'you need to watch it' after I said if we don't get a new lot we are leaving and I request a refund again. That was I said to get agreement to move in the first place, after explaining how a fire pit that can't be moved off the road is not a campsite. He was creepy and tried to back out. Then goes on about how he was pulling in favors to do this. And later how it was only his upbringing that he was to get through the day. Parents should have given a lesson in customer service and respect. Not going back. It was obvious that campers that had been there pushed for no neighbors because of cramped conditions. Everyone kept moving there trucks because there's no parking on lot unless you want to park your truck at your picnic table. We camped at Frontier Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This CG is off the beaten path. It is a hard left turn into the park and if another rig is checking in, you either wait in the travel lane or, if you were not paying attention and turned in, you will block the whole roadway.

This CG is not big rig friendly and I had to fight to get into my pull through site. The water hookup was on the right side. It was a 3/4 to 1 inch line with a Y splitter that was shared with another coach. The water pressure stayed around 20 PSI and we had to use the house pump to shower. There were a lot of long termers and a controversial flag was flying near the rear of the property. We left early. We camped at Frontier Campground in a Motorhome.

Impossible to get into the campground with one other camper checking in; we had to sit on the road and wait. Owner would not allow me to go into the office and wait while he was outside talking to the camper that we had to wait on. By looking @ his prices, I guess we got a .15/night discount for being a Good Sam member. We were unable to use the Internet while there, even though when I made the reservation, I asked the owner if we would have it and he assured me we would. When I walked to the office to ask the owner why we are unable to use the Internet because it says "NO INTERNET ACCESS", he got upset stating he can only use so much every month or he has to pay extra. This is for his family, the business and the campers. He told me he still had 4 days to go and it was almost used up. He told me he would do something to allow me to use it and then proceeded to hand me a list of everything I cannot do online (upload, download, myspace, facebook, webcam, online game playing, photo sharing, limewire, video/music streaming or high bandwidth usage). He also told me usage is monitored and speed restrictions would be imposed and would automatically be disabled when misuse is detected. He made a big deal out of giving the campers free Internet. We never got any! He had it locked. The putt putt golf area is very old and unkempt. As the campground's site states, there are cameras monitoring EVERYTHING! Cameras are everywhere. Office wasn't open until 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Sunday. The owner will NOT return your calls. I dealt with this while trying to make a reservation and then after we were campers at that particular campground. We camped at Frontier Campground in a Travel Trailer.

It's hard to be negative about this campground, but it's also hard to be really positive. Did it meet our basic needs? Yes. Was it utilitarian? Yes. Is it a destination campground? No. The owner is doing a good job of running the place. He was present and available either in the office or actually out working in the campground every day we were there. We stayed 4 nights. The spacing is really tight. With our slide out, it was literally less than 6" away from the neighbors tiki torch. There are an abundance of seasonal/year-round campers. For the most part, they kept their sites neat and clean. It was obvious that the better sites were given preferential placing for the seasonal and year-round folks. The water pressure was absolutely the pits. The TV reception with just an antenna was not great. It's pretty far off the beaten path. The pool looked OK on the day that we arrived. Something happened to it the night of July 4 and the pool was closed after that. But up until it got jacked up, it looked very clear and nicely maintained. There's a neighboring trailer park community that was really noisy on the night of the 4th. There was an entire backside of an 8.5 X 11 piece of paper list of rules. I think some of the rules were enforced, but not all. Would we stay here again? Probably. The only reason we decided to stay at this campground was that Frontier had full hookups. We camped at Frontier Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Campground is way off the main roads, and thus not suitable for overnight if you're traveling I-71. There are many long-term older permanent rigs toward the back of the park. The front section near the office and pool is much, much nicer. All the sites appear to be very level. The bathrooms are older, but have been remodeled. There is a separate shower house. Wi-Fi is erratic. You probably will need to keep resetting your browser to get it to work. No cable TV, and most sites are too shaded for a satellite signal. Pool is nice and well-kept. We camped at Frontier Campground in a Motorhome.

Stayed here with a group, Loners on Wheels. Owner was friendly, patient and accommodating. Used the lodge (part of group package) so had wonderful inside fireplace to get out of the rainy, cold weather. In spite of rain, sites not muddy or under water. Getting ready to open lots of activities for children. Nice playground, in-ground pool and will have lots of weekend activities. Bath house and bathrooms were spotless; firewood very reasonable. Our group definitely plans to stay here again. Nicest park with fairly close access to Museum of the US Air Force. Close to Waynesville restaurants and shops and can easily get into Cincinnati. We camped at Frontier Campground in a Travel Trailer.

Nice basic campground with level sites and paved patios. Size of sites are good, but not huge. Unheated in ground swimming pool is well maintained. Bigger trailers will benefit from pull thru sites as backing in is a little tight. The location is a little off the main path which makes this campground have a secluded feeling, but is not too far from some shopping and restaurants. We stayed here while visiting Kings Island for the weekend which is about 30 minutes away. Would stay here again if visiting in the area. We camped at Frontier Campground in a Travel Trailer.

This park is situated in a nice, quiet, wooded area. We were given a pull through site which had electric and sewer on the left and water on the right side of the site. Although this is a nice park we would never stay here again simply because the impression we got that the owners really did not think much of their patrons judging by the voluminous list of rules and regulations interspersed with threats of eviction for failure to comply in virtually every other paragraph of the very lengthy list along with the notation that no refunds would be given. You may want to bring an attorney along to advise you on all the legalese on the "application" for a site. The WIFI was very poor and also contained warnings that we would be cut off for "abuse" of the system. We were also charged (for the first time in my RV life) for a concrete pad which we did not request, none of which is listed on their price list. To top it all off, the owner parked his personal pick up truck behind our RV on our site for an entire day without asking permission or giving us a discount. We camped at Frontier Campground in a Motorhome.

Very nice park. Friendly owners. No cable TV, but can get ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX and a few PBS station off antenna. Wi-Fi was limited, they had so much band-width and when that is exceeded it shuts down for 24 hours. Lots of shade and quite. We camped at Frontier Campground in a Fifth Wheel.
