You can't beat the Ohio Turnpike plazas. All are modern and all have RV parking with electric. We have stayed at several. Tiffin River (eastbound 20 miles from Indiana border) is set far off the turnpike so you hardly hear any road noise even outside. Well lit. Safe. Good food in the plaza and clean restrooms and showers. There is also a dump station and fresh water. Thank you Ohio DOT. Excellent job. This was a very nice RV plaza that is part of Ohio's Tiffin River service plaza that was built in 2011. It is a brand-new, state-of-the-art plaza that is exceptionally clean and attractive. The plaza has a Starbuck's, Sbarro, Burger King, gas station and convenience store. There are spotlessly clean free showers and restrooms, and the staff there is quite friendly. I was not sure how to answer the 'Yes/No' question on water and sewer hookups -- there is water and a dump station available, but not at each site. 50/30/20 electrical is available at each site, however. The operations staff said that 38' Ft RVs can fit for sure, and maybe 40' Ft could squeeze in if the place is not too crowded. It was empty when we were there. The PDF file for the stations is here: http://www.ohioturnpike.org/media/pdf/RV_generalinfo.pdf Ohio has 8 of these RV plazas on Interstate 90 -- they are at alternating travel plazas (every other plaza has one). Although normally we would not rate such a simple location an 8, we have had such trouble and misery after leaving the west/mid-west (on 90 after leaving SD and MN) finding safe, quiet, reasonably priced (like less than $40-50/night) parks, finding these little plazas was a real boon to us. For one thing, unlike MOST travel plazas, they don't stick you in amongst the BIG, SMELLY, LOUD SEMI-TRUCKS. Nope -- here the RV's get their own spot where no other cars or trucks are allowed. Also, on super-hot nights it is great to have electrical hookups with air-conditioning. Let's hear it for Ohio and their little RV travel spots for those of us on I-90! This is the list: Eastbound: • Tif?n River (Milepost 20.8) • Wyandot (Milepost 76.9) • Vermilion Valley (Milepost 139.5) • Brady’s Leap (Milepost 197.0) Westbound: • Portage (Milepost 197.0) • Middle Ridge (Milepost 139.5) • Blue Heron (Milepost 76.9) • Indian Meadow (Milepost 20.8) We camped at Tiffin River Travel Plaza in a Travel Trailer.Undo
