11 Parks near Westerville, Ohio
Jul 2016 - $35.00
The park is a bit difficult to get to but is a very attractive park when you do with many large trees and lots of shade. Sites in the heavy timber have gravel pads with very little grass, due to the lack of sun but are nice on warm days. Overnight sites are pull through with easy access, gravel pads that are close to level. Nice swimming pool, very quiet and friendly. We were happy that we found this out of the way park and will go back if we travel that way again. - RV Camper1
Aug 2015 - $38.00
We had reservations and arrived in the evening after the office had closed, but an escort met us at the entry gate and took us to our site. The pull through site was large enough for our 40' rig and tow vehicle, and was fairly level when we pulled in. It was mostly grass though, so we were not level by morning. The park could use an upgrade as there were a lot of sites with tall grass and weeds. Many of the seasonal sites were pretty old and not kept well while others were very nice. There is plenty of shade and mature trees. I think the park owner relies on volunteer campers to help maintain it, but there is potential here to make this an outstanding campground. It was very quiet and peaceful which is what we were looking for. The people were extremely friendly and accommodating. We don't usually come this direction, but I would stay here again if we are back in the area. - RNRVtravler
May 2015 - $19.00
Nice modest, quiet park with pretty farm surroundings. Park Manager was very accommodating, friendly staff. - PixieStardust
Sep 2016 - $40.00
This is a large RV park that appears to serve a number of seasonal campers. They have a schedule of activities for those staying more than one night. We had arrived after the office closed and they had left a packet taped to the front door with the usual info and a large map of the park with the route to the site clearly highlighted. The wifi worked at our site but like most it, it lost connection no and then. Local TV channels from Columbus were easy to get. While the site spacing was fairy close, most would have little trouble with slides. - Trailbuddy
Aug 2015 - $1.00
I came here for a long term stay until I bought a house. I was charged $650/mo that was suppose to include basic hook up and WiFi. During the 3 weeks here I never got WiFi, went to office and they basically said "oh well" when asked to speak with the owner they said she was not in and she would not want to hear about this she had more important things to worry about instead if I could get WiFi. Campground is run down, extremely noisy with the golf carts running all over the place and the auto traffic. There is no control over the campers there as on weekends they are up all night making noise. You are parked on top of each other and you had better know how to drive to get into your site, they won't help you. Muddy sites, very little gravel and the road coming in is a wash board. I had to turn my tv up very loud to begin to hear it. I left this campground as soon as I found another one and very pleased with this one. Oh yea when I went back to speak with the owner I was told by an elderly lady that she would be in in the morning, I explained I would be at work, the lady stated, "if you want to see her you will come in when she is here, she will not come in to see you on your schedule". I have been a full-time camper for the last 4 years and this is the worst AND I mean WORST campground I have ever stayed. Save your money go somewhere else. I don't think this place would not survive if it were not for the trailer people that live full-time on the hill. Would not recommend going up there from what I heard about what goes on up there. - Wayne Conway
Jul 2015 - $39.00
We have been coming to Berkshire for about 5 years now. We just travel to stay on weekends. The kids love it. There is so many things for families to do that its a packed weekend. My parents even come up from Pa to stay. Never complain. The staff in the office are just AWESOME every single time we have been there. Never had any issues with the sites or people at all. - JLee Hdz
Sep 2016 - $35.00
Fantastic independent park north of Columbus. Was real convenient for us for two nights, as we were visiting a friend in the OSU heart hospital. Wish we could have stayed longer! So much to do on site that we never got to take advantage of. The staff and facilities that we did experience were top notch! - Ron and Terri
Aug 2016 - $50.00
This was our second time to stay here. It is a great, clean campground in a quiet setting and easily accessible. We stayed in one of the long premium pull through sites near the entrance - the site is level and easy to get in and out. Nearby is a wonderful state park with all sorts of facilities, a lake, and a large clean off-leashdog park. Easy to get into Columbus. We stayed in a 45 foot motorhome and would stay there again. - Tom Oelsner
Jul 2016 - $48.00
Basically a nicely organized park, clean, average wifi, helpful office folks. - jc2
Sep 2016 - $17.00
We're fulltime RV'ers and I'm not sure I've ever given a park a 10, so this may be a first! I can't think of anything bad about this park. Wish we would've had more nights to spend there. They have updated a section of the park and made it all full hookups, level asphalt paved drives, concrete patio, shrubs all around for privacy. It is just a few miles away from Columbus OH so there is plenty around to do. We were there for a specific event so we didn't get to enjoy the lake but there were lots of people out there on the lake. Lots of trails around. No WIFI but our Verizon signal was good as was AT&T. We were able to get satellite coverage. They accept Passport America Sun-Thurs. We'd definitely stay here again. We have a 35' fifth wheel and had no problems with the length, width or low limbs, etc. - jacknpeg
Sep 2016 - $32.00
Just electric hook up on most sites. We reserved the site on line. It is difficult to see what you are getting. Nice park on the lake with some sites with water access. We stayed here over Labor Day Weekend and the park was packed. Bring your boat. - Bburgbrewer
Jul 2016 - $14.00
Checked in without a reservation. Passport America rates not available on weekends and holidays.
The first site assigned, even though we told the attendant our length, was way too short. The second site, while long enough, had a squatter on it! We called the office and let them know, but no one from the park came down!
When we checked out the following day, my wife again reported the squatter and the campground attendant said: "Yeah, we know about him."
Rest rooms were disgusting!
Our site was littered with cigarette butts: maybe from the squatter?
Electric only at this site, but full service sites are available. - thetravelkids
Jun 2016 - $49.00
We originally reserved for three nights and several weeks ahead of time we had to change to two nights, the refund process wasn't easy because we paid with PayPal, however it did get done. There is a gate with a code to get in and the code they gave us as we got there didn't work the next day - nothing in the paperwork said anything about stopping at the office to get the new code! That said, the site was level, they pick up your trash at your site, and the variety of activities for kids is amazing [although we didn't have kids with us]! - Tony Connie and Rusty
Aug 2015 - $52.00
We decided to try this place out and are glad we did. Our site had a cement patio, nice picnic table and a fire ring with a metal grate. From the time we checked in until checkout there was something to do for each of my three kids, who range from age 7-13. I caught a huge bass and the kids caught over 30 fish in one day. The kayaks, canoes, inflatable toys were all no charge and we could use them as much as we wanted. This is by far the best campground we've been to all summer. We saw the staff constantly cleaning and it showed. The bathroom toilets and showers were clean every time we used them. They have some farm animals too. This is our new camping spot! Check out the old truck they have on display too. - Joe K
Jun 2014 - $45.00
We called for a site for a 35' bumper pull trailer and were assured that they had a spot for us. When we arrived our spot was a back-in, too small for our trailer. The spaces are very tight and trees are planted near the front of some sites. Other campers' vehicles are parked along the road so you cannot cut your tires to turn. I would recommend that you only make reservations for a pull-through if you are more than 24', otherwise you will be very disappointed. - WindRiver
Sep 2016 - $36.00
Overnight stop heading to Indiana. Very nice little park to pull off the road and relax. Temperature today (9/7) was HOT, so we had to run A/C. No shade in center of campground. FHU site worked as they should. Lots of local HD over the air TV channels. Verizon and ATT, both voice and data are excellent. - moderate camper
Sep 2016 - $40.00
Very close gravel sites. We had a "back in", which was really a parallel parking spot along the road...but we had two of these spots and were able to back directly in and pull directly out when leaving. There was a nice shaded grassy spot on the streetside. People were very friendly. Power was low in the afternoon with all the rigs running A/C, but our power monitor did not shut us down. - 2hams
Aug 2016 - $40.00
Alton RV park is a RV parking lot with full hookups.
The only bathhouse had one toilet and one shower each for men's and women's, both clean.
On our visit the outside temps were hot and the electric voltage with nothing plugged in was 119VAC, but plugged in with one air conditioner running the voltage was low. At mid-day the voltage was 109, and at mid-afternoon it was 106. It got as low as 105VAC for an extended period.
My neighbor confirmed the same and said it was the lowest he had seen. - William3
Aug 2016 - $35.00
Most camp sites have 50 amp, water and many have sewer. I think there are about 500 sites.
They offer trap, skeet and sporting clays shooting, archery and international trap. Besides the shooting, they have a great heated indoor pool with great filtration equipment so it is always clean and filtered. Also GREAT wifi all through most of the park.
Don't try to get a spot here during the three big trapshoot events at the end of May, middle of June and August.
Other then that, it is a lovely place to camp. Playground area, horseshoes and cornhole. We have camped here for 10 years. Love this place. - motordoctor
Jun 2016 - $33.00
Large campground, nicely maintained, lots of activities, basic to deluxe sites. The campground is next to and part of a large trap shooting range. A meet was scheduled the week following our visit. Don't know if the noise would be a problem during the day. Shooting is aimed away from the campground. Would stay again. - Bobo Pruns
Jun 2016 - $38.00
The campground had spacious sites, some trees, well maintained. Had an indoor pool, stocked fishing lake, basketball court, horseshoes, and corn hole all free of charge. No dog park but plenty of green spaces to walk the dog. We camped overnight in a 40' rig. - 4RollingGs
Jul 2016 - $25.00
Open April 1-Oct. 31st. Located at the Plain City Fairgrounds. It is generally quiet, but I expect this can vary based on other programs planned during your stay (i.e. music in the park, Steam Threshers Festival, Rod Builders). The following activities are available: playground for children, disc golf course, basketball court, baseball field, short level hiking trail within park, city pool for an additional charge. Staff is helpful and friendly. We will definitely come here again if we are in the Columbus area. - B D HOWie
Jul 2016 - $25.00
Only one spot has sewer. We reserved online, then called to clarify details. There had been an event the weekend before, but only a handful of campers there when we arrived, so we were able to pull through our spot without issue. It's pretty much a large park with hookups scattered throughout. The bathrooms were acceptable, on the cleaner side, but the shower was a bit scuzzy. I like the quiet setting, though no gate, and it's a public park so anyone can drive in and around. Jan and Tony's Pizza delivers here, and there's a nice little bowling alley just down state road 42, next to the Dutch Amish restaurant, Der Dutchman. Don't follow phone directions to Park Street, enter from N Chillicothe St. - RVBlessings
May 2016 - $22.00
This is a city park near Columbus. The park is large with baseball fields, a swimming pool, pavilions, walking trail, and playgrounds. The sites are not very well marked and they are on grass. We were there when it was dry so that was not a problem. But I would not want to park there in the rain. Some of the sites showed that campers got bogged down in wet weather. However, the park was beautiful and very well maintained. Lots of green grass and fabulous old trees. The nature trail is a lovely 1/2 mile walk. Very close to the small town. There is a small office but the attendant is mostly available by phone. She was very responsive to us when we called her on her cell phone - which is posted at the office. - ArkansasTraveler
Jul 2016 - $27.00
Very nice state park. There are a lot of things that need attention, but we really like this park. There is a lot to do here. Tis a a very large park. Just needs to have some new shower houses and the roads resurfaced. - jemerson
Jul 2015 - $28.00
This is one of our favorite state parks. The spots are huge. They are set up in courts so you have few neighbors. There are miles of bicycling roads. Everything is always clean and well maintained. The dump station is easy to get to with both sides accessible so the wait is never long. - Let'sGo!
Jun 2015 - $24.00
We've stayed here with friends many times and always enjoy it. The sites weren't mowed when we got there this time, but I saw the mowers in another area and asked them to mow our sites so we could set up and they came right over. The sites are level and the 50 amp service was great. It rained a lot in the few days we were here, but the site had enough slope that it didn't flood us out. The store hours were hit and miss so we couldn't get firewood when we needed it. - RNRVtravler
Aug 2016 - $46.00
We love this campground. It's a very family-friendly. Our favorite spots are in the back next to the creek which the kids love to play in. It's only a foot deep max. Our spots are surrounded with mature trees and are huge. You can sit in our spot around the camp fire and watch the kids play in the creek.
The only downside is they are electric and water and cable, no sewer.
This year they added a BMX bike track and laser tag and frisbee golf. There are also adding a new shower house. The current shower house is fine and well kept. It's a nice family run campground. Super great for the kids with lots of activities. It's not as big as some campgrounds but that suits us great. There's a nice place to get snacks and ice cream.
The pool is a little small but the water is always warm and nice, and there's a splash pad right next to it. There's also a zip line and a wire obstacle course.
Very secluded down in a ravine in the trees. Camping the way that it should be. It's family-owned and I think both the daughter and son are involved. Everyone who we've interacted with are good people and the staff is great. - osubuck94
Jun 2016 - $30.00
Great place for a family campout. They have a zip line, playground, food window with pizza, ice cream, etc., swimming pool, shallow creek to wade in, very large laser tag area. Camp store. Very nice. Many planned weekend events. Clean laundry room.
We waded in the creek, granddaughter used the zip line, pool, play ground and climbing obstacle course. They also had minature golf but we ran out of time to use it.
We have already returned once this year and have reservations this fall for their Halloween weekend. - Atthecrossroads
Sep 2015 - $46.00
We had a creek back-in site with friends camping next to us for a weekend. Grass sites are level, large, and flexible. Many activities available for children. Great camp store with good food and friendly service. Fire ring overlooking the creek along a mature tree line. The only concern during our stay was an abundance of barking dogs that weekend. - SKT
